Poog of Zarangul |

Poog can see Chuffy moving around the area, picking up things, throwing away things. He's not sure if the treasure is in the pointed direction.
Sense Motive on Chuffy: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (6) + 2 = 8
"Chuffy, what you put in your pockets! Let me see the bottles!"
Spellcraft to identify potions: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (7) + 3 = 10

Chuffy Licklots |

Chuffy picks up many things and tosses them about. He stuffs the taffy in his mouth because he is hungry. When he sees the masterwork crossbow he mumbles "Ooo this shoots pointy sticks, stick stick stick mmmm"
He pockets the masterwork crossbow as it is a very pritty weapon. (With the previous sleight of hand check)
He does not know what to do with all the potions (and does not pocket them) so he says
"Moggie! Comes here! I gotz drinkies! What does they do?".
He shows the others what he found (excluding the crossbow) and says "This pretties pearl is mine for killing NoLegs! Rest Chuffy sharez because he benevelented leader."
Chuffy does not think he can carry all firework by himself so he needs Gobby servants to carry stuff for him. Also they good fur taking attentiun so Chuffy can sneaky from behind and stab, stab, stab.

Dibsies!
And, as soon as Mogmurch makes each of the other three checks,
Dibsies!
Dibsies!
Dibsies!
We needs moar poshuns, doesn't we, Spotol my pretty? 'Cause we is bravest goblin of all. 'Xcept of course, Him. Reta looks reverently to the sky.
As Reta is mostly talking to the voices in her head Spotol, you don't really know who He is. But it's clearly not one of you. :-)

Chuffy Licklots |

"No, no, no, Reta, we sharez! Be good BigBad and share with rest."
Chuffy takes one potion from Mogmurch before Reta can puts her filthy paws on it.
random potion: 1d4 ⇒ 3
"Dis one is mine, others gets one poshun too"

![]() |

Reta wasn't actually *taking* the potions, just asserting claim to them. I didn't actually expect her to succeed. But we can go with it.
Okayz, Reta shares. One, two, free, four poshuns. One, two, free, four goblins. That means...
Reta counts on her fingers, removes a shoe to count toes also, does a handwave to wipe away her mental calculations, stomps three times...no, four...counts on her fingers again, pauses, stares blankly.
The higher-level math involved being too much for her, she says
How bouts we all takes one? Here, Moggie.
random potion: 1d3 ⇒ 1 You get first one.
Poog.
random potion: 1d2 ⇒ 2 You get last one.
So, if my calculations are correct -- and I hope my math skillz are better than Reta's -- we have:
Chuffy - Bull's Strength
Mogmurch - Cure Moderate Wounds
Poog - Bear's Endurance
Reta - The Mystery Poshun

Poog of Zarangul |

Poog asks himself if he can have a look at Reta's mystery potion, maybe he can find out what it is?
"Reta my dear, maybe me canz identify your poshun?"
Spellcraft to identify remaining potion: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (15) + 3 = 18

![]() |

Oh, Poog, of course youse can look at my poshun. Gonna cost you a big smoochy kiss, though!
Reta closes her eyes and puckers up.
And yes, she does allow it regardless of whether he kisses her.

As you loot everything and move further the trip through the marsh is uneventful, the worst decision you have to make is to whether to fire of your fireworks now to see it it will work or wait till later.
After about an hour you arrive at the location marked with a X on the map.
The Old Shipwreck; The point indicated on Scribbleface’s map isn’t quite on the coast, but it’s close enough to hear the faint susurrus of waves crashing on an unseen swampy shoreline. The site itself is obvious once it is approached—a large wrecked ship lodged in a shallow pool of swamp water. Driven aground decades ago during a particularly violent storm that flung the ship several hundred feet into the flooded swamp, the ship itself is a two-masted Chelish sailing vessel with strange, faded writing on its bow. The ship itself is quite old—it crashed here several decades ago.
The shipwreck itself is upright, held in place by the mud and sludge it now sits in and supported by thick growths of marsh gorse and other foliage. The derelict leans toward its stern at a noticeable but not unwieldy angle, and its railings are as decorated with hanging moss as they are with goblin skulls and bits of bone—leftovers from Vorka’s meals over the past several years.
As you approach the ship you hear barking coming from the mist
In the distance you can see a large shape with 4 legs move through the mists
Vokra; One of the greatest terrors of the swamp, at least to the Licktoads, is old Vorka, a ravenous cannibal goblin who, legend tells, was once the wife of a Licktoad chieftain. She murdered and ate that chieftain, as well as several other goblins, before she was driven out of town many years ago. Since then, the story says that she’s lived alone somewhere along the coast to the west of Licktoad village, and while she’s never returned, most goblins who go missing in that part of the swamp are assumed to have been eaten by the cannibal.
Map is updated, you can place yourselves where you want outside the fence and approach from where you want

Poog of Zarangul |

Poog walks over to Reta, takes the bottle with the glowing liquid and says "This one make you bleedz less." and gives it back to Reta. That said he turns around and walks away a few steps, puts a pickled fish head (his trail ration) in his mouth, then rushes back to Reta and kisses her.

![]() |

Reta blushes and spits out a fish skull with a big grin.
Then she looks over the derelict ship, her large, bulbous head bobbing back and forth.
Perception: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (8) + 9 = 17
She sniffs the air and a low growl emerges from her throat.

Reta don't know nuthin' 'bout no Local Knowledge. She was a Philosophy major with significant postgraduate research in the influence of Descartes and Locke on the American Revolution, vis-a-vis the Catholic Reformation's influence on the French school of Spirituality. Reta don't gots no time for Local Knowledge. Feh!

Chuffy Licklots |

Seeing the shipwreck, Chuffy gives it a careful look to see if he can find anythings to stab.
perception: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (7) + 5 = 12
"Psst Chuffy sees something wiv legs, something bigs"
Thinking back Chuffy tries to remember what other gobbies say about this shipwreck
Knowledge local: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (5) + 5 = 10
"Old Vokra lives there, she eats goblins."
Then Chuffy tries to hide before that four legged thing spots him.
Stealth: 1d20 + 16 ⇒ (16) + 16 = 32
Chuffy suddenly vanishes into the mist as he sneaks ahead.
He is waiting patiently in a hidy place for Reta to get the attentiun of the four legged big thing. Then Chuffy aims his new crossbow carefully at the big thing and will shoots it in a painful spots just before it reaches Reta and be hero again.
"Yessss, Chuffy will stick stick sticks big thing wiv new toy"
He is eagerly looking forward to using it.
Is there anything where Chuffy can hide and not be seen? I placed him behind the fence where some bits extended where he can hide behind. Also where is the four legged big critter? Chuffy will ready attack to shoot just when big four footser reaches Reta (but it's not in melee yet)

![]() |

Reta finds out that there are dogs on the ship and that the big shape moving on the other side of the ship is not a dog.
Chuffy can use the fence to try to hide behind
As you wait in ambush you see a large horse appear around the corner of the ship as the fog opens up enough for you to take a good look
Poog still can position himself where wants on the map, since he hasn't posted since this started

Poog of Zarangul |

Poog waits outside of the fence for Mog and Chuffy to finish their surprise attacks. Always checking the swamp for Vorka and the dogs.
What about the height of the fence? Is it low enough to shoot at the horse from outside?

Chuffy Licklots |

Bolt to the face: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (11) + 6 = 17
Sneak attackses: 2d6 ⇒ (5, 6) = 11
Stupid horsies is not quick enuf for Chuffy and Chuffy has enough time to reload his stick-launcher and shoot it again at big fourfootser.
Another bolt to the face: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (7) + 6 = 13
Sneak attackses: 2d6 ⇒ (2, 2) = 4 (Horse is still flat-footed and has not acted yet)
Chuffy whipsers to Moggie: [b]"Another ones bites the dusts because Chuffy sticks it real good, hehehe."[b]
Chuffy tries to rehide in case dogsies come as well.
Stealth: 1d20 + 16 ⇒ (9) + 16 = 25

Chuffy Licklots |

Chuffy sneaks over to Poog and whispers to him:
"Poog you wants to be hero yes? Strong hero? To protect Reta and make her lick you? I haz poshun to make you strong. You lends me ring of climb really well, you can haz poshun. Then I sneaks up side of boat and in tower. I sees whats on boats and signals, yesh? Then you can protects Reta and impresh her because you stronger then her with poshun. You show her you strong and she licks you. And I sticks dogsies from above, but make you seems hero of fight."
Chuffy tries get to trade the ring of climbing for the potion of bull strength so Poog can impress Reta. Chuffy wants the ring so he can climb the rigging and scout and shoot dogsies from above. In case Poog needs convincing, he also tries to bluff him that he will help Poog seem hero in Reta's eyes. Bluff roll is only for the last bit because Chuffy wants to be hero ;)
Bluff: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (18) + 2 = 20

Poog of Zarangul |

"Me not have the ring, go ask Mog he won hide and get clubbed dare. I'm not good hiding so me got clubbed, here see bump!"
Poog won the useful robe which contains a ladder if you can use that.

Chuffy Licklots |

Woops, got my gobbies mixed up ;)
Chuffy sneaks over to Reta and wispers to her "Psst Reta, you gots poshun of climb really well rite? Wanna trades for poshun of becomes really strong? I wants to climb tower so I can scouts and shoots dogsies from above. We helps eachothers yesh?"

Chuffy Licklots |

"Silly Poog, you hang rope, not ladder. You sets ladder against wall to climbs it."
"You lets Chuffy take looksee, giv Chuffy rope to tie to side of boat, Chuffy signal from tower, you comes up on rope. Big suprise for Vokra."
How high is the boat from the side (Sneaky goblinses don't take front door) and is it climbable?

Poog of Zarangul |

"Poog not silly!" Poog says and pokes Chuffy. Then he reminds himself beeing silent not to alert Vorka or the dogs.
Unfortunately Poog does not have a rope, he's frustrated now. Nobody needs his help and he's always late to stab something. What should Reta think about him?
GM, what kind of ladder is the ladder in the useful robe? Is it maybe a rope-ladder? How does a solid ladder fit into a robe?

Chuffy Licklots |

Magic ;), I have no idea what all the pockets do though. Btw Poog can be useful in battle I think. You should save healing for after combat though, unless someone is going down or nearly so.
BTW 2, Need to work tonight so Chuffy's goal is to silently climb the side of the ship using potion of spider climb and tie a rope if it is safe, then climb further up into the rigging to the highest and largest looking post of the ship from which he can attack the dogsies and whatever else.

Gonna wait to give Mogmurch a chance to post, will move the story along either in a few hours or tommorrow after I wake up
Questions answer time; if I missed one, please remind me
The fence is about a head taller then a goblin, but it's not solid, so you can shoot through it, it will just provide cover since it's ...well, in the way basicly
Chuffy you don't have to wait for Mogmurch if you don't want. When 2 (or more) of you are at the same time we can just assume that you delay/ready, ect on each other
The ship's pretty high (15ft) You can climb it, it just looks difficult. The best way to get on the ship is the boarding plank at the front of the ship..which is also quite steep and not easy to climb
The ladder; not specified. I always imaginged it at as a solid ladder, also no height is mentioned..so to make it somewhat useful for this adventure..let's say it's a 15fr ladder. It's actually a small magic patch that you pull loose from the cloak and it turns into a ladder when you do
And Poog can be indeed be useful in combat, you fire a small bolt of fire as a ranged touch attack 5 times a day that does 1d6 fire damage, not to mention you can channel negative energy in a 30ft burst for 1d6 damage to _everything_ ..yes this includes fellow goblins. Also, providing flanking for other (Chuffy) is real useful

![]() |

@Mogmurch - Your actually attacking a horse right now ;)
Mogmurch throws a bomb as the horse comes close enough, right away followed by a sneakily delivered bolt from Chuffy's crossbow and then another bolt slams into the horse..dropping it to the ground.
out of combat
@Mogmurch; What are you trying to climb? The gangplank that's in front of the ship, or the side of the ship? Or just something random what's around so you can proof that your good at climbing? ;)
Chuffy drinks a potion of spider climb and prepares to start to climb the side of the ship.
Going to describe what Chuffy sees when he climbs up there a bit later to give the rest a chance to do something as well

![]() |

Reta going to find doggies and slice them into leetle pieces.
Reta goes all sneaky-sneaky up the plank after drinking her potion of being really strong.
Stealth: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (8) + 11 = 19

Chuffy Licklots |

Chuffy wants to climbs up all sneaky sneaky and peeks over the edge of the ship to see what makes doggie sounds.
Stealth: 1d20 + 16 ⇒ (20) + 16 = 36
Chuffy climbs up like a little spider, hugging the wall like its meat (giving it a lick once in a while). He's as silent as can be and gives a peek over the railing to see whats there before he ties down the rope for those outside of the ship.
He then wants to proceed to one of the crows nests to hide and snipe the doggies from.

![]() |

Chuffy manages to climb up quite sneaky up the side of the ship with Mogmurch close on his heels.
The main deck of the shipwreck is cluttered with objects both natural and artificial. Thick swaths of leafy vines grow over the deck, and shiny green patches of algae and moss grow where the vines do not. The central cabin's roof has a wide edge, creating a canopied walkway along the ship's
sides. A flight of steps up to the roof of the ship's main cabin, the entrance to which is blocked by a door decorated by a large number of rodent and bird skulls. A smoking stovepipe chimney extends up from the ship's highest point above.
There are 2 mangled looking dogs on the ship. Both are chained to a different mast and the are sniffing the air and growling
Looking up further;
Two rickety wooden platforms—crow’s nests—sit on the masts, ten feet above the ship’s deck below. Each is linked by a pair of thick ropes, and additional ropes hang down from the platform on the stern-most mast to the deck.
Map updated. I've put chuffy and mogmurch next to the shipmapped numbered 4 as to show them hanging on the side

"Stupid Vokra ties dogs down, easy targets hehe."
Making sure the dogs are not able to alert Vokra, Chuffy takes careful aim at the nearest dog and shoots it with its mighty crossbow.
Sticksie to the head: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (18) + 6 = 24
Sneaksy damages: 2d6 ⇒ (4, 6) = 10
He also wants to take out the other dog before it knows where Chuffy is so he quickly reloads and shoots at the other dog as well (If Chuffy is allowed to and the first dog is dead)
Sticksie to the head: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (7) + 6 = 13
Sneaksy damages: 2d6 ⇒ (6, 4) = 10
Chuffy pridefully says to Moog"There, Hero Chuffy clears the way. Dogsies are dead."
Chuffy signals to Poog and Reta that they can come on board now.

In case Chuffy can't attack the second dog

Chuffy takes the dog by surprise and it drops to the floor unmoving.
The second dog is actually a deck lower and can't be easily seen from where you are now (Mogmurch could lob a bomb at it from where he is hanging, but with the penalty he's miss with the bomb), Chuffy can't take another action yet. Since your technically hanging on the side of the ship, reloading also will be difficult until you can use both hands again)
The dog tries to break loose of the chain as he smells you1d20 + 2 ⇒ (18) + 2 = 20 and he manages to break free, rushing towards you
init,
You guys
The dog
1d100 ⇒ 20
So to make things a bit more simple..I'll move you 2 guys on the ship, the dog towards you and Reta and Poog closer to the ship and we'll pick up combat from there, deal?

Chuffy's hate for dogs and experience with killing them becomes apparent when he ducks and rolls to come to an advantage angle to use his dogslicer. He violently jabs his dogslicer into the dogs lower jaw, straight up into it's skull.

@Reta]The gangplank is pretty steep and needs a climb check to walk on, although it's easier then to climb the side of the ship (Dc 10 climb check). You can't shoot at the dog yet. You'll need to climb up first
