Eldon García |
Eldon throws all the documents with the evidence at Bryton "Will you just negate all this? That you and the Eagle Knights have done nothing while Tercio was plotting against his own people?"
The elf looks deeply at the man "Look. It is not only for the better benefit of your interests, but also reaching a treaty with the Society about the Worldwound can provide the Eagle Knights access to good resources and rename. This is for the benefit of all us"
"We can even help you clean your name by letting you and the Eagle Knights appear as the ones that solved Thalia's kidnapping and took Tercio to the judge" completes Eldon "We can help you with whatever you need at now"
Thallin Quin |
Thallin stands in the background and shakes his head.
(This man is going to be subject to an inquiry, regardless of our involvement. At this point the law now has the document, and I doubt there is anything we can do to remove suspicion from him.)
I had assumed the captain took what evidence we had. (Shrug) Maybe I was wrong.
After Eldon throws the documents on the table and begins to blackmail the man, Thallin turns and walks out of the room.
Once Thalia is out of the room, Thallin approaches her. "I understand that you are unable to supply any military support at this time. With the circumstance being what they are, this is completely understandable. Can you think of anyone, other than your father, that could influence the military in our behalf?"
Saarai Shae |
"Perhaps we will not be able to complete all of our mission," Saarai laments.
"Your father's ability to provide military aid would have made him the smarter bet. Can you pull some strings to connect us with someone who can?" the tiefling asks Thalia.
Dylara Yssal |
"At least we did what was good."
But what if it was bad for the greater good...?
Ludovico Tauranor |
Ludovico seeks to reassure his group.
Please everyone, let us think about what Venture-Captain Brackett told us originally. Our main goal was to get funding. The Venture-Captain told us that securing pledges for further military support, such as troops, would be more difficult. We promised Tercio Andares that we would find his daughter. Well, that we did. Now, we as a group have decided to bring this evidence of possible improper activities to the captain of the guard. It is unlikely that Consul Andares will consider our request for aid now. But his daughter Thalia has offered in his stead. Let us hope, that after these legal affairs are completed, she has funds left to offer.
Ludovico looks pensive for a moment before continuing, Also, do not forget that at our briefing with the Venture Captain, that smug Major Maldris also requested that we seek out any corruption here in Saurton. Who can deny that we did just that? Perhaps it is Major Maldris we should talk to about securing troops for the cause, After all we did uncover a plot that would threaten the stability of his beloved Andoran.
Thallin Quin |
"Without making this an Andoran legal matter, we could have brought back the evidence to the society. They would have used it as leverage to entice the nobles into action. The only problem with this is the fact that Thalia would have been in harms way during the transition."
"If we would have over looked the scandal and treachery, that is taking place here, to further our fight in the Worldwound. We would have undermined the principles that we fight for. It was the right decision, but I'm afraid it could cost lives in the long run."
"During the briefing, it was stated that Thalia's father had influence with the army. That being said, it was never stated that we required his influence to secure the help of Andoran. We should make the attempt without his influence. The cause it worth their attention. The Worldwound threatens ever living thing on this planet."
"Someone with good social skills, should talk with the supreme Elect. We could present our case and see what happens."
Ludovico Tauranor |
I have a certain gift for speaking, but I am not sure who it is you would have me talk to.
Who is the Supreme Elect? Is that the ruler of Andoren? Also, what is the status of the document and the captain of the guard? I am afraid I have lost track of exactly what is going on.
Thallin Quin |
With out stretching to much. I am assuming that basic information on the Andoran politics is available. If not, Thalia should be able to fill in the gaps. We should talk with who ever is in charge of their military. My understanding is that Andoran elects a group of people who rule the nation. Their main head honcho is called the Supreme Elect. That's about all I know. I am assuming anything more than this, would require a knowledge check.
Eldon García |
Bryton seems in charge of the Eagle Knights, or at least have some influence on them. Thalia pointed out before that he might provide us with the military aid. But my Diplomacy and Gruugdúrz's one was very low.
It would be great to have some support both on the RP and the rolls there as we are still waiting for V's answer to the interaction.
Saarai Shae |
Not one to say much that isn't a lie, Saarai fumbles any attempt to add support to her allies.
Maybe some...puffery...would help?'
"Surely giving the society aid would only add to your own influence, would it not?" the tiefling asks.
diplomacy aid: 1d20 - 2 ⇒ (3) - 2 = 1
bluff: 1d20 + 18 ⇒ (16) + 18 = 34
Ludovico Tauranor |
Are we talking to Bryton? If so here is my diplomacy check.
Sir, in all honesty, we came here to assist Consul Andares in the hope of getting material support for the crusade in the Worldwound. In the course of our investigation, however, we uncovered some criminal activity that threatened the very structure of Andoran. At this point, Ludovico pauses dramatically, and, with an expansive gesture, indicates the rest of the group. My associates, in their desire to further the cause of this country, turned this evidence over to the Captain of the Guard. The unfortunate side effect, of course, is that we are now unlikely to receive any aid from Consul Andares. But you, Sir, you have great influence with the Eagle Knights. I beseech you, Sir, do not allow my comrades desire to be righteous undermine the war effort against the forces of Chaos incarnate in our world. Do not let all of Golarion suffer because my friends sought to redress what they saw as a wrong!
Diplomacy: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (13) + 9 = 22
Eldon García |
"If the demonspawn is not stopped it will certainly reach Andoran at one point or another. Join us on this epic resistance against the evilness and get your part of the Glory" says Eldon on the hope honor will work better with Bryton than reasons and material advantages did.
Diplomacy (aid another): 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (8) + 2 = 10
Dylara Yssal |
Aid; Diplomacy: 1d20 - 1 ⇒ (5) - 1 = 4
Dylara opens her mouth and starts a coughing fit when she's about to speak.
*Cough couch cough!!*
GM V |
"I'm sorry but we just don't have the man power to spare right now. I know the world wound is important but we are dealing with domestic issues that are a more immediate threat to us." He says. "Now I have to ask you to leave. I have another meeting to prepare for."
GM V |
At that is the end. Is anyone slow tracking? Chronicles to come soon.
The courts eventually convict Tercio of betraying his oath of office and Common Rule, stripping him of property and position. Further investigations may eventually lead to the conviction of Sander Bryton, but he survives the Andares case practically unscathed. Thalia’s unswerving adherence to Common Rule and her role in rooting out corruption cause the judge to favor her request to maintain much of the family’s property with some concessions, and she donates much of the Andares fortune to the Pathfinder Society.
