Irvine fastened his sword behind his back, not expecting to have to use it again. His stomach was starting to settle now from the horrific smell and he was starting to feel himself again.
He smiled at Dentesila's comment. "There's an idea I cant get behind. Balenar, Remember that request I made...? Now would be a good time to sing it..." he glanced over at Dentesila. "And maybe add a line about raw power." he smirked.

With the defeat of Tasskar and his troglodyte followers, the Fallen Fortress stands abandoned once more, but it's only a matter of time before something or someone moves into the damaged siege tower and poses a new threat.
Balenar accompanies you on the caravan back to town, when on the way, he obliges Irvine's request.
"Ah, smash it
Balenar's here and we're in effect,
Want you to smash it, Irv,
Travelin' by day, then at night, slashin' up a druid,
C'mon lads, we rid this tower of all that is bad
Report to the V-C - Loot? What loot? - he'll be glad
.. Now I'm gonna stop before I make the hormonal one mad."
Balenar glances over at Dentesila with a self-satisfied grin, then back at Irvine.

Back at Absalom, you make for Venture-Captain Valsin's office. He looks up from his paperwork and smiles at you, then addresses you in his usual gruff voice. "Ah, I see you've returned from the siege tower. And in one piece! Excellent. So tell me, Pathfinders, what was there? Come on now, Report!"

When Balenar glances over he finds that Irvine is already staring at him with an unimpressed, disappointed, look on his face. "Great...good job." he grunts, throwing him an obscene gesture.

When they arrive back to greet the VC, Irvine braces himself on the desk with a smile. "It went, swimmingly. There were quite a few nasties about. Flaming Skeletons, Bats, Lizard men, A giant Croc, and a nasty druid. I only vomited once and impressed a lady. Not at the same time, however...I could really use a tankard..."

The Venture-Captain addresses you in his usual gruff voice. "Ah, I see you've returned from the siege tower. And in one piece! Excellent. So tell me, Pathfinders, what was there? Come on now, Report!"
Sir, we investigated the tower, finding one of our own people held hostage and tortured by a group of lizard-folk. We slaughtered them and their leader and looted the tower. It's empty now, but unless steps are taken not to pull it down or occupy it, I expect it will be reoccupied again.
Sir, did we do all to your satisfaction?

Valsin looks no more surprised than he does relieved. "It's only natural a bunch of mindless beasts - and perhaps a cult - took over an abandoned tower as their home. No matter, they're gone now! What a success. You've done the Society well, especially for the brand new initiates among you," he nods in approval at Dentesila and Balenar. "And you've even brought a Pathfinder back with you! I will task other teams with future expeditions there to ensure it's kept free of evil." Valsin signs your paperwork indicating that you've completed the mission and bids you farewell. "Please, rest and relax. Your job is done... For today!" He walks around to the other side of the desk and whacks Cazithiel and Irvine on the back as he chuckles heartily.
Balenar winks at Irvine heads out of the office. "I must be working on my music. Thank you again for saving me. I'll be at the bar if anyone needs me, but I think I'll avoid any exploration for at least a while..." He rubs some of his fresh bruises, then skips off towards the Merchant's Quarter while trying to figure out what rhymes with "lodge."
And we're done. Thanks for playing!
