"Nae, we be 'ere ta liberate th' tower, an' I suppose that means you, too, from these vile creatures. I'm sure ye'll be glad ta escape th' stench!" Io says as he moves to free the man.

"Oy! Did somebody grab th' key from that stinker? Per'aps it opens these shackles."

Once he has the key from the troglodyte, he attempts to open the manacles with it.

@Jaquilin: Sure!

"Strangely, I've become accustomed to the stench," the man says as he gets on his feet.

Io uses the key to open the shackles, and the man rubs his wrists. "My name is Balenor. I'm a Pathfinder, a member of the Pathfinder Society. I was exploring this place when the little troglodytes surprised and captured me. Thank you, so much, for saving me."

"Now... I'd like some revenge, but for that I'll require my gear. Did you happen to come across a rapier and several others items?"

Balenar sums up what was taken from him, which is exactly what you found in the rusty iron chest.

Do you decide to return his gear to him?

"Aye...th' gear obviously belongs to ye...take it," Io says as he hands over the equipment they have found. "Nae sure if we've cleared th' tower out. Ye know of anything else aside from yer dead captor 'ere?"

"Thank you!" Balenor says happily when you return his gear to him.

"The one that lies dead there," he says as he points to the reptilian creature you killed last, "seemed to be the boss's right hand. He was charged with guarding me. Which parts of this fortress have you explored thus far?"

Balenar patiently listens to you as you give him a quick summary of what you've done since your arrival at the Fallen Fortress.

"I see, then there's only the top floor left. I expect we'll find the troglodytes' boss there. I saw him once, with a small alligator that I think was his companion."

You head over to the staircase and climb up to the last floor. The ceiling is 20 feet high in this room; it is dimly lit by the daylight shining through the archways. The four wings of the tower are completely open on this level, forming one great, cross-shaped chamber with arched ceilings. The decayed remnants of a carpet run from the doorways at the end of each wing, meeting in the center, where a spiral staircase drops out of sight below. A large, throne-like chair stands in the middle of the eastern wing next to a big chest.

Another reptilian creature, or 'troglodyte' as Balenar calls them, stands at behind the throne. He gazes longingly at Absalom, which is clearly visible in the distance. A stunted albino cave crocodile stands next to him.

You've not yet been noticed by the troglodyte and his companion. You've been placed randomly next to the stairs, feel free to swap positions.

I have 1 spell ready.

Jaquilin casts mage armour on herself and then gets ready to start casting once they enter.

I assume this is in preparation of heading toward the boss's room:

Jaquilin casts mage armor on herself before the party reaches the last room.

Surprise round:

Heveel and Jaquilin both start summoning before the enemy notices them.

Locke readies a shot against the first sign of agression fro mthe enemies.

Sago uses Martial Flexibility to temporarily make his attacks more powerful.

Ruegann stands ready to charge in.

Io throws a javelin into the crocodile's back and causes it to cry out in pain, finally alarming its troglodyte master to your presence.

@Jaquilin: I'd assumed you started casting in the surprise round. If you spend a standard action summoning in one round, you can finish the summon with another standard action in the next round. Meaning you won't have to wait till next turn for your summoned creature to appear.

No, surprise round is a standard action whilst summing is a full round. I saw it was round 1 so I assumed it was the proper round. Instead I could fire another MM at it or the gator. I have the state for the creature once it's summoned. Oh and because of my school, it'll last for 2 rounds.

That's what I tried to explain: a full-round action can be divided in two standard actions, spread over two turns. I assumed you'd started casting in the surprise round, which would be standard action one. You'd then finish the casting on your first turn, by using a second standard action.

But since that's not what you intended to do I'll just move things on.

Heveel delays for now.

The troglodyte finishes his spell and a spider swarm appears in between him and Io.

Locke remembered the limited range of the net and drops it, to step 5ft back and grab for the bow.

Sorry, i thought a net had 20 range, instead of 10ft.

Dropping an item's a free action, so you may still take a shot.

Kradvid drops to the ground as he's given all he can give.

I hadn't been able to heal him since this is my first scenario with this character. Kradvid is unconscious.
