Heveel Ash'maïm
|
Understanding too late his trick didn't work this time, Heveel fills his lungs with air and shouts three loud words in Auran, causing a whirlwind to appear from his mouth.
"FUS RHO DAH!"
Wind Blast (Bull rush attempt): 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (10) + 5 = 15
| StephNyan |
Awesome, Heveel! xD Wasn't expecting that here, haha!
Heveel forces the giant frog several feet back with a powerful shout, which he learned during his stay in Skyrim.
Ruegann moves in and kicks the giant frog hard enough to break a couple of its ribs.
Round 1:

Io
Heveel
Jaquilin
Sago
Giant frog -5HP

Io Hammerhand

Far from the giant frog, Io hustles into the room and moves to flank the frog. He orders his companion to attack it, as well, but the animal stares blankly at the giant frog.
double move
handle animal: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (2) + 6 = 8
Sago Joles
|
Sago steps up and rams his spear towards the frog but is unable to get a good vantage point from around Ruegann.
Attack: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (5) + 5 = 10
Damage: 1d8 + 6 ⇒ (4) + 6 = 10
Jaquilin Leroung
|
"I see you have this under control. I'll guard the door..." she states as she finds that the group handles itself quite well without her attempting to use her spells. "Let's be rid of this thing and then move on up."
| StephNyan |
Io moves to flank the frog and orders Kradvid to attack, but Io's trusty companion doesn't feel like it.
Sago tries to hit the frog from behind Ruegann, but is unable to connect.
Jaquilin figures the orders are doing fine and guards the door.
Bite: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (3) + 3 = 6 Damage: 1d6 + 2 ⇒ (4) + 2 = 6
The giant frog tries to bite Ruegann, but the latter has no trouble dodging the attack.
While drawing his scimitar Heveel circles the others and moves to a position that'll provide easy flanking for Kradvid, if the animal also attacks the giant frog. He then readies an attack for when Kradvid either joins the fight, or continues to ignore Io's command to attack.

Round 2:

Io Hammerhand
|
Io swings his warhammer at the frog's skull, all while cursing his animal companion from top to bottom in colorful dwarven.
warhammer: 1d20 + 3 + 2 ⇒ (12) + 3 + 2 = 171d8 + 4 ⇒ (1) + 4 = 5
handle animal: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (12) + 6 = 18
| StephNyan |
Sago stabs at the giant frog, but misses it again.
Jaquilin decides to step in after all. She fires an orb of acid at the frog, but aiming into a melee fight is quite hard and causes her to miss her target.
Io hits the frog hard and once more tells Kradvid to join the fight. Seeing his master angry, Kradvid complies and wounds the giant frog even more.
The giant frog collapses to the floor the moment Heveel tries to hit it, causing Heveel to miss.
Ruegann shouts and punches the unconscious frog once more, to ensure it'll stay down.
Combat's over!
Because I don't like wasting time on empty spaces:
You open the door in the southeast wall of the room you're currently in. The east wall of the room that's revealed has crumbled during the earthquake, causing the room to be completely open to the east. There's nothing of interest in this room.
That leaves one other door on this floor, and the ascending stairs.
Locke "Firebug" Arkham
|
Perc.: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (10) + 7 = 17
"Well, lookie here. A jade figurine, must be worth a good coin to collectors. I may know someone who'd pay for that."
Making sure smokey doesn't pocket it for use of a flint, Locke puts it in a pocket.
Heveel Ash'maïm
|
Heveel nods at the dwarf's statement, still proud of what he showed earlier.
When I saw this 1st level power, I immediately though of Skyrim :D
| StephNyan |
Locke opens the door slightly and takes a careful look into the room beyond. A brazier of glowing coals sits in the center of this room, its acrid smoke mixing with the ever-present troglodyte stench. A few knives, pokers, and other metal implements lie atop a rusty iron box nearby. There's another door in the room's northeast wall.
On the far side of the room another reptilian creature is pacing around. He looks somewhat bigger than the others of his kind.
Locke "Firebug" Arkham
|
Looking back at the others, Locke casually points with an index finger.
"Another lizard, a bit more muscular than those other small fries."
Locke steps aside to make way for the muscle of the group, since vandals oddjob workers aren't the most talented when it comes to hand to hand combat.
Io Hammerhand
|
Io casts a javelin at the creature through the open door, hoping to hit it before it notices them.
javelin atk: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (15) + 2 = 171d6 + 3 ⇒ (4) + 3 = 7
Heveel Ash'maïm
|
"HEEEeeeeeeeEEEYyyy! Why the cruelty? It's only a fearful little animal, duuuuuuude!" states the druid, puzzled.
| StephNyan |
Io throws a javelin and pokes a hole in the creature's back. It lets out a cry of pain and turns around. "Ինչ դժոխք?!"
Io: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (17) + 4 = 21
Jaquilin: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (2) + 3 = 5
Locke: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (17) + 5 = 22
Ruegann: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (18) + 6 = 24

"Not hell, lizard, just us hired folk to crash your party."
Locke nodges an arrow and releases, then moves out of los.
Longbow: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (10) + 3 = 13Sting: 1d8 ⇒ 5
Sago Joles
|
Sago steps closer, holding out his spear in preparation for an attack, and he mentally prepares himself for battle. Readied action to attack, and Martial Flexibility to gain Power Attack.
Io Hammerhand
|
Io throws a second javelin at the creature, though this one is not well-aimed.
"Bring it on, stinky!" the dwarf yells.
javelin: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (7) + 3 = 101d6 + 3 ⇒ (3) + 3 = 6
| StephNyan |
@Sago: Could you make rolls for a readied attack in advance next time, so I can directly apply them if necessary?
@Jaquilin: Ok!
Locke and Io sends pointy thing at the creature, but their attacks miss.
Ruegann delays as Sago readies an attack.
Javelin: 1d20 + 0 ⇒ (4) + 0 = 4 Damage: 1d6 ⇒ 4
The creature moves to your side of the brazier, but stays out of range of your melee weapons. It throws a javelin that looks like it may have been aimed at Io, but it passes the dwarf overhead.

Locke "Firebug" Arkham
|
Fort: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (1) + 3 = 4
"Bwhu....."
Locke turns head away from the door and moves to the far end of the room.
Knowing there's 3 brawlers (in Locke's perspective) near the door, Locke saves arrows.
Jaquilin Leroung
|
Jaquilin, watching the creature, takes a step to get a good view of the creature and begins to start her casting, muttering in a dark tone in somekind of dark language. As she continues to chant she keeps a focus on her hand waving and chants as she focuses on the room the creature is in.
"Bi ga'thra nigoloth hoteph..."
"By the infernal powers of hell..."
She's casting Summon Monster 1
Took a 5ft step as a free action and now doing a full-round action to cast Summon Monster. i have the stats for the creature when it appears next round.
Sago Joles
|
Fort: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (5) + 9 = 14
Sago too retches into the corner, but recovers himself enough to stand firm with his spear drawn.
Attack: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (8) + 3 = 11
Damage: 1d8 + 4 ⇒ (1) + 4 = 5
Io Hammerhand
|
Io and Kradvid, tired of the ranged battle, rush into the fray.
Though Io swings his warhammer wildly at the creature, Kradvid manages to bite into the reptilian creature...hard.
fort save Io: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (16) + 5 = 21
fort save Kradvid: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (15) + 3 = 18
attack: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (3) + 3 = 61d8 + 3 ⇒ (1) + 3 = 4
handle animal: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (17) + 6 = 23
bite attack: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (20) + 2 = 221d6 + 2 ⇒ (6) + 2 = 8
crit?: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (18) + 2 = 201d6 + 2 ⇒ (4) + 2 = 6 If crit confirms, 14 dmg total
| StephNyan |
While Locke moves away with a distressed stomach, Jaquilin starts summoning a monster, and Ruegann and Sago prepare for the creature to come closer, Io and Kradvid rush into the fray. Io's warhammer misses the enemy, but Kradvid sinks his teeth in the reptilian humanoid's neck and takes it out.
Combat's over!
Heveel Ash'maïm
|
Heveel, somehow absent during the fight, asks himself if the compass is magic. Detect magic
Io Hammerhand
|
"Aye, a Wayfinder 'ere is a strange find. Le's keep explorin' an' see what we find," Io says as they move to open the next door.
perception: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (17) + 6 = 23
| StephNyan |
Heveel inspects the wayfinder and concludes it radiates magic.
Io heads over to the door and opens it. There's a man in the northeast corner of the room that's revealed. The man lies on the floor and is bound in manacles. He looks beaten and starved.
The man's eyes narrow at first, but he seems to relax when he gets a glimpse of who's in the door opening. "A dwarf? Not one of my captors, then."
