![]() |

VoodooMonkey
Sira Ulo Ako
PFS# 258367-9
Faction Silver Crusade
The Day Job thing kind of confuses me...I guess for an Alchemist i could put "Herbalist" and use Craft Alchemy?
I have the Crafter's Fortune Formula, artisans tools, and my Alchemist Class bonus to add to a craft Alchemy check?

Thralleon
Father Conflict:
Warpriest, emphasis on war

GM Blake, there seems to be no RAW as to whether making bombs requires twos hands, I always assumed it did in home games but it came up in "the Phantom Phenomenon" where my GM said it didn't.
One thread I found on Reddit: Bombs with the specific answer:
"[–]neothelid 3 points 1 year ago
A) You can two-weapon fight with bombs. FAQ
B) When you two-weapon fight, you are locked into primary hand and off-hand. FAQ
C) If both hands are used with your primary weapon, then it's not available to make an off-hand attack. FAQ
Thus, since you can TWF with bombs, that means your off-hand is not used with your primary hand, which means using a bomb only requires one hand, not two."
But I'm sure I want to know how you rule it or if it was specifically addressed officially. I am just trying to avoid a misunderstanding later on so I don't have to renege an action and waste anyone's time.

GM Blake |

@ Stoic Gorehard: Setup looks good
@ Sira Ulo Ako: 1. Craft (Alchemy) is your day job as it is the only skill with ranks in it that counts for Day Job rolls. Day Job rolls are just for a little extra cash at the end of the scenario. 2. Bombs require 1 hand.

Putting this here now so I don't forget again-Scribe Recharge Innate Magic from NPC between adventures! Hearing about all the incoming spelunking reminded me, but I figure we are officially in the adventure as of now.

![]() |

I would like to apologize before hand for the incoming collateral damage pending the GMs thrown splash weapon miss roll!

GM Blake |

Flu season is kicking our tails at work, so I won't get to an update until tomorrow.

![]() |

Do we need to make a knowledge check for the history part, or will any tidbit do?

GM Blake |

I'm not entirely sure that I understand the question. However, at this point, I would recommend aiding Kyunjiro's Appraise roll.

GM Blake |

Oh, that's what you were asking me. No, no roll is required for the Scholar ritual.

![]() |

Yeah that's a lot of excitement for hitting a grid section...and I am not sure the extra d6 applies there...especially when I didn't roll to confirm (I had to get back to some work)
But Sira is excited whenever he doesn't hit the party with a bomb...

GOREHARD
"You must have a clear path toward the opponent, and nothing can hinder your movement (such as difficult terrain or obstacles). You must move to the closest space from which you can attack the opponent. If this space is occupied or otherwise blocked, you can’t charge. If any line from your starting space to the ending space passes through a square that blocks movement, slows movement, or contains a creature (even an ally), you can’t charge. Helpless creatures don’t stop a charge."
I reference and re-reference this link A LOT!

Making sure...does darkvision allow you to see normally in low-light cases also? There seems to be a bit of debate in certain areas.
I think the rule is "the presence of light does not spoil darkvision..."

![]() |

Thank you to whoever moved me, couldn't do it myself as I was on my phone. Quick question though-did you single move me or double move me? I ask as when I said "as fast as he can" I meant double move, and I think based on where I ended up it was a single move. And, if that is the case, GM Blake, can I get that movement now? or is it too late?

GM Blake |

I moved you. Your less than expected distance traveled is due to the difficult terrain in the green.

![]() |

Doh, got it. I didn't realize that space counted as green (I'm a hair colorblind, or so everyone tells me)

GM Blake, I have an alkali flask-which I crafted with Craft Alchemy and a scroll I bought, neither of which have I used. Other than that I haven't bought or used any consumables other than implied use of rations and a copy 1st Level NPC spell into my formula book.
How much of the 150 starting gold do I get when I rebuild a failed Alchemist? I haven't rolled so many 1s vs touch ever til I started playing this dude.
And i know this answer before I ask it, but, you cannot rebuild a 1st level toon mid-adventure right?

GM Blake |

I don't think re-building him mid-adventure would save you from your cursed dice anyhow...
You would have 150 gp minus 1 gp (2 days' worth of trail rations for this adventure) minus the spell scribing cost on a rebuild.

![]() |

If I'm further than expected it's because my double move from last round didn't stick.

GM Blake |

You have completed both Primary and Secondary success conditions.
You're welcome to explore more in the cave, there are things to be seen/experienced, but none of them will affect your Chronicle. If you haven't done the Confirmation before, it may be better to not do them so you can be surprised in a later play of the Confirmation, but I won't report until you all come to a consensus (explore more vs. finish up).
Sira, you can roll your Craft (alchemy) as your day job to earn a little extra gold.

![]() |

CRA ALC(without +5 from Crafters Fortune extract): 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (9) + 8 = 17

![]() |

Is the Confirmation replayable then? I have talked to a GM about getting Sira into another game supposedly starting early next week. If we buckle down then I am up for exploring. But otherwise, Sira has gotta go!

![]() |

You can play Confirmation with as many different level 1 characters as you want plus once with a level 2.
I'm ok with wrapping up.

The Confirmation is one of several "Evergreen" scenarios.
The general rule for PFS is you are limited to playing a scenario twice - period. Once with a regular character, the second with a CORE character. There are some special circumstances that allow this rule to be broken, most notably using GM stars to replay, and there is a boon out there that allows replays.
"Evergreens", on the other hand, can be played by every one of your characters at level one once. And, only one character at level two. What happens is that (generally) there are some random elements that change each time they are played. From monster encounters to puzzles. For example, in this scenario the murals change. When I GM The Wounded Wisp the encounters and a puzzle changes.

GM Blake |

We'll wrap up then. There's more than a week's worth of random stuff to run into.
Ironleaf summed up Evergreens pretty well and the link is a very helpful reference though not always up to date.

![]() |

Thank you GM Blake! It was really good adventuring with you all...Emmjay...until we meet again sir!

![]() |

I have read that to play a Summoner you must play Unchained...is that the case for Monk/Barbarian/Rogue? Specifically, is Urban Barbarian still legal for play?

![]() |

You can use Un or regular for the other 3. Only Summoner requires use Un.

![]() |
1 person marked this as a favorite. |

That is correct. Sira, I will say, though, that playing unchained vs normal, while they are still the same flavor, can be played quite differently. Personally, except for the rogue(which I don't like playing even the normal version), I like the unchained version better...

![]() |

I am just looking at the Urban Barbarian's ability to put all his rage bonus into DEX...I think that may prove invaluable.

![]() |

Thanks for the game - GG!
Should'nt we do boon rolls? I'm fairly new to PbP so I'm not sure when they occur.

GM Blake |

Only during conventions, Kyunjiro. PbP doesn't qualify for RSP, though HMM keeps advocating for us.

GM Blake |

Everything has been reported. I'll be closing this thread in the near future.
Thanks for playing, everyone. :)
