Thistle's scales begin to crack and bleed as the demigod absorbs healing energy from the Oracle. Thistle grimaces, trying his best to conceal the pain as he locks eyes with the giant. When almost half a minute has passed, Thistle finally released a wave of healing energy, like a swimmer coming up for air.

It seems the man is indeed no expert on demons. Can't tell a 'zu from a 'loth, this sodding berk. Bruce, on the other hand, quickly understand what type of creature this could be: nothing less than a barbed devil.

Looks like a few more areas. Did we already explore the western hallway for doorways (looks like we passed one)? If there are any more doors in that hallway, I suggest we open that next, and if not, it looks like there's one to the south that leads to the center.

Thistle breaths deeply once the healing is complete.

"Against a barbed devil? It seems we will need you as much as you will need us. The gods seem fit to bless us both with needed allies." Thistle claps his scaled hand on the brute's back.

Nodding to Bruce, he allows the leaders to take the procession to the next corridor.

I'll let you guys figure out where we are going next, once place is as good as another. I want to make sure that before we go into what we think is the barbed devil's lair, I cast communal prot from evil, communal resist energy, and align weapon on up to 3 people who need it (jelani, caranthir, bruce, or our new ally). I may need to cast invisibility purge as well, but we will have to see.... It will be kind of up to DM Kludde how much time we have to "buff" and up to us to make sure we are doing it at the door to the correct room. As a side note, if it matters, Thistle casts all of his spells silently (free metamagic feat due to my curse) in case that might affect the surprise round.

Let's check the western hallway for any doors we passed. Let's try to get our stealth/scouting on. I have quite a good stealth score, plus clairvoyance, and I'm sure Bruce has some tricks, too. It would be nice to see which room we need to buff for beforehand.

There's a door in this hallway, but it only leads to a rubbly blockade. There does seem to be some kind of room on the other side, perhaps there is a passage there that you've missed.

On the east end of the hallway is a passage south.

This room retains its original shape, though the walls are covered with crude pictographic graffiti depicting humanoids committing obscene and violent acts. Piles of rubble form several makeshift bunkers—a defensive barricade facing a single door set into north wall.

Bruce moves stealthily through the tunnel, though when he exits it, the hatch he need to open to get through creaks, alerting the occupants of the room: three morlocks, one of which is particularly burly-looking.

Fellgrim hits the large Morlock with his explosive, and it explodes right in the face of the hulking undercreature. It shields the other morlock from most of the blast, but both are seriously scorched.

RFX: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (10) + 9 = 19

Caranthir's shot just glances of the big morlock's armour, as Asuna tries to implant a suggestion in its head (Ich sprech kein kommon.), but fails.

Bruce takes a strike, shoulder to shoulder with Thistle, who swings his morningstar menacingly. As the creature evades Thistle blow, Bruce strikes hard in the flank of the big Morlock.

Jelani moves in and swing at the large Morlock, snapping a few bones in the creatures, who in turn glares at the bloodrager in anger, and swings his club down on Jelani's skull, swings across, and then finally bites the rage, while the smaller morlock tries to aid the larger one.

A bomb explosion causes great confusion between the smaller and the larger morlock. The larger one takes the brunt of the blast, scorching its back and neck, and throwing it forward just as Jelani is about to land his earth breaker on its face. The result is devastating - a sickening crack signal the crushing of the Morlocks skull, and it dies on the spot.

The last morlock is still standing, though cut up and severely burnt. A single arrow from Caranthir's bow is enough to put it out of its misery.

Combat over

The room contains little more than rubble, but the bracers and club of the large morlock look of interest.

So the big guy is obvious something slightly different then normal yes? Any ideas on why he is special?
