Sorry, traveling internationally and may be sketchy this next week...please not me if I am up and have not posted!

DM Kludde |

We're again at the last room of this level, so can I have day job rolls?

![]() |

Name: Kris Larson
PFS#: 147934-4
Faction: The Exchange
Day Job: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (17) + 6 = 23

![]() |

Also, just FYI GM, if you didn't realize, the DC for the acrobatics check to avoid an AoO when moving through a threatened square is the opponents CMD. add +5 to the DC (aka CMD) for moving through the occupied square, add another +10 if you move more than half speed. It starts getting complicated when you add in multiple enemies, but I know the rules well since my "main" is a ninja who is kinda built around being able to do this.
Day Job, Diplomacy (caravan vanity): 1d20 + 13 ⇒ (16) + 13 = 29

![]() |

Caranthir Silverhand
PFS# 132,076-9
Faction Grand Lodge
day job craft bows: 1d20 + 15 ⇒ (7) + 15 = 22

![]() |

Day job Craft alchemy: 1d20 + 12 + 1 ⇒ (11) + 12 + 1 = 24
GM reroll: 1d20 + 12 + 1 + 5 ⇒ (6) + 12 + 1 + 5 = 24
.....wow
Edit: You already know this Kludde, but I am going to be unavailable this weekend as I will be attending a local con.

DM Kludde |

I'm at 18.5 EXP before this chronicle...should I be on slow or normal if I want to keep playing Jelani as much as possible?
Hmm. It turns out it is impossible to switch from from slow to fast track and vice versa unless you're exactly at a level threshold (15 xp, 18 xp , 21 xp, etc).
With 18.5 xp and a slow track chronicle, you'd be at 20 xp, and you'd need two more half-xp chronicles to be able to switch.
18.5 xp means 7th level, with the next chronicle bringing you to 20 xp (still 7th).
Keeping you in the slow track would give you the following starting levels for each of the dungeons levels:
8 -> 7
9 -> 8
10 -> 8
11 -> 9
12 -> 9
13 -> 10
14 -> 10
15 -> 11
16 -> 11
There's no problem with keeping you in slow progression all the way
Level 8: The Circle of Vissk-Thar 6–8
Level 9: The Spire Axis 7–9
Level 10: The Magma Vault 8–10*
Level 11: The Tomb of Yarrix 8–10*
Level 12: The Automaton Forge 9–11*
Level 13: The Pleasure Gardens 9–11*
Level 14: The Throne of Azlant 10–12*
Level 15: Order and Chaos 10–12*
Level 16: The Emerald Root 11–13
---
With the other group, we ran into trouble switching after we completed the famous fourth level. We ran two regular PFS scenarios to synch everybody (those who didn't need the xp ran a different character)
It might not be a bad idea to do that for this group as well, and it might actually be fun to see this group of adventurers in a slightly different context.
This may be necessary once we hit level 10: at that point, there's no more pregens available to switch out, so unless everybody has a spare lvl 10-ish character to switch out, the only alternative for not moving out of range is sitting out a level.
Can everybody tell me how much XP they have (at present, so before any Emerald Spire Floor 7 chronicle)?

Currently 15 + this level

DM Kludde |

The latest chronicles (link) have been added!

![]() |

Wow! That's the record for FASTEST CHRONICLE SHEETS EV-AAAARRR!!!
Thanks so much for running this Kludde! I really love having an extended campaign with the same group. I really look forward to this one!

![]() |

Just want to say thanks again Kludde! I love all of this, and the continuity. +1 to what Caranthir said.
In response to running a regular scenario, I think that sounds like amazing fun. Whenever the time comes that it makes sense to do that, I would very much like to with this group! It could be very interesting indeed.... I would like to see how challenging it would be to deal with some of the frequent social encounters with a deaf character... sometimes it is easy to play off in a dungeon crawl.

![]() |

Yeah, other scenarios would be quite fun... :)
Thistle and Asuna, let me know which spells you are thinking of for lvl 3 spells. I'm trying to make some selections but want to make sure I'm not doing something you guys will do better (for example, last level I dropped see invisibility once I saw Thistle had invisibility purge!).
For my domain spell, I was thinking of picking up Tongues, which could really help Asuna with charming all kinds of stuff (and I needed a Divination spell anyway). Let me know what you guys are planning!

![]() |

I don't know if Blackros Matrimony would be an option at some point, but I'd love to get to play that before I have to run it for one of my groups. We just use PFS mods for material using house rules, but it'd still be nice to experience the plot from a player perspective first.
I'm not sure if that has a high enough tier for level 10 though.
Anyway, I'll stay on slow for the rest of the dungeon, that's fine.
+2 to the continuing to run us through Kludde, thanks a million! (^_^)

Ok - I need a little help from my team. Having a hard time deciding between level 3 spells - I can only add 1. The three I am choosing between are:
Archon's Aura - Makes any creature within 20' of me that fails a DC 17 will save take a -2 to all attack rolls, saving throws, and AC. Seems good, but we haven't had any issues in combat yet really... The fight with the dark naga could have been bad if not for Jelani's ridiculous string of crits... :)
Prayer - +1 to attack, damage, saves and skill checks for all of us, -1 for all of our enemies. lasts for 7 rounds.
remove disease - the catch with this one is, if you can make it through the level, it cost something like 150 gold to get the disease removed. I have very little experience with this high of a level, so I don't know if there are any diseases bad enough that we would want this for immediate care.
On that same note, there is remove curse - Thistle was cursed last level and it kinda sucked, but the group was strong enough that it didn't matter. If a nasty curse hit all of us or most of us? Well... I suppose springing for a few scrolls in case of emergency is just as good. Scrolls would work for the remove disease above as well.
I am leaning towards prayer right now, but still looking. Also taking other suggestions that I might not have thought of!

![]() |

Just found another one - This one might be the new leader in the clubhouse for best bang for our buck...
Gives you resist energy 10 for 10 minutes each. I can pick the energy when I cast. Could have been pretty useful (in the beginning at least) of this level.
I am far less impressed with level 3 spells than I thought I would be... I think I have the big ones already - Cure Serious, invisibility purge, and neutralize poison. If I am missing one please let me know! Thistle's design is to be an optimized healer who can wade into the front line if necessary. I didn't do to bad for damage in the first couple of levels, but there is no way I will keep up with anyone at this point, so there isn't really any reason to try. My main objective has always been to make sure no one dies... (please don't take that as a challenge DM...)

![]() |

I have found Channel Vigor, Dispel Magic, and Water Breathing to all be useful spells at times. We've already had one water themed level, so maybe there won't be any more in the Spire. Dispel Magic is always useful though.

![]() |

I think resist energy will be a party saving spell. We have been doing pretty well with damage dealt so far. Remove disease will be more after the fact, while resist energy could keep us from dying. Sounds like you were leaning that way, but I agree.
Right now I think I'm picking up a dispel magic, a haste, and then tongues for my domain.

![]() |

Yay level seven now. I'm switching from spinosaur to ankylosaurus. Stunning tank so he is a proper frontliner ^^.
I'll try to update properly this weekend.

![]() |

So does the Ankylosaurus. But he has an attack which dazes opponents.
Don't worry he's a beast :).
I didn't want to take both the high dmg output from the Spinosaurus and the control Asuna herself offers. Would make things too easy I think.

![]() |

Ow shucks, I'm still only level 6 next run :D.
But I do get some lvl 3 spells now >=]

![]() |

I played two levels with a pregen :)

DM Kludde |

Xp count (before chronicle:)
Bruce - 15
Jelani 18.5
Fellgrim 15
Asuna?
Caranthir?
Thistle?
Still waiting for the answers of these PCs, so I can plan ahead a bit.
I'll probably set up the next level later or on monday/tuesday. Depends on how much time I have.

![]() |

Sorry! I thought I reported it but must have only done it in my head, or paizo ate a post. More likely my fault...
I am at 15 prior to the chronicle, 18 after.
Edit: By logic, that would put Asuna at 12 before, unless she played a scenario or two outside of this group.

DM Kludde |

It looks like everybody can complete the whole dungeon like this, it's just that Jelani is stuck in slow track (but he won't ever fall out of range). There's no need for extra adventures.
I've put up the first gameplay thread for level 8!

![]() |

Ok - Just because I like to plan things out a bit - when we finish the 9th level of this place, most of us should hit level 9. we will get another feat, and my plan is to take heavy armor proficiency, and purchase a set of mithril full plate armor, plus magical enhancements, which should take my AC up to 30 base. (unless I decide to upgrade my amulet before then...)
I also have the feat channeled shield wall, which allows me to use one of my channels to give myself a +2 deflection bonus (which doesn't stack with the pro ring I have...) so I am contemplating selling that back. Anyways, I am pretty sure I can get my AC up into the mid-30s in the next couple of levels... Then stand in the middle of the chaos as a fountain of life and healing.
Hopefully we don't come across anything that can hit like Jelani - not sure if there is much I can do about that. Speaking of that, it might be a good idea for people to invest in the emergency button life savers, such as aegis of recovery.
the Life link I have on everyone is similar - but it is only 5hp - more or less an auto stabilize. As hard as some of our enemies may hit as we get deeper, 5hp might not be enough to save you from a massive hit killing you outright.
EDIT: Just want to mention that I would be ok with extra scenarios anyways... This is a good group and a fun GM, so I am down for whatever.

![]() |

All that sounds good, Thistle. I have been mainly purchasing offense and utility stuff. I bought a potion of gaseous form for get out of jail.

![]() |

I'm back from a con weekend and I am leveling up Bruce. I picked up the G hex on the land grab and I am going with booming settlement. I also picked up the Prosperity boon which I will be applying to Bruce.
Edit: Purchases are Headband vast int +2, Potion of fly, Masterwork tool (craft alchemy).
On the thought of extra adventures, why squeeze things into the middle when we can add things onto the end. Such as the seeker arch or some of the high level PFS approved mods?

![]() |

My absolute dream would be to add something on at the end after we finish...I completely agree with Bruce. :)

DM Kludde |

I'll gladly run a seeker arc if you manage to stand my shenanigans all the way down to level 16.

![]() |

Awesomesauce :).
Btw I have 11k gold left to spend. Any suggestions? ;).
Was thinking on an item for my pet. Though next level it will change a bit.
Can get a handy haversack and some scrolls. Perhaps a mithril shield and enhance it for some boost in ac. But beyond that I'm a little lost.
Need a good list of useful spells to put on a scroll.

![]() |

You can't buy a Robe of Arcane Heritage yet, and already have a headband.
I'd say go for metamagic rods, though your pet likely needs to have some gear to keep up. Probably needs an Amulet of Mighty Fists soon...
Ioun stones are always good.

![]() |

I was going to say meta magic rods and ioun stones...

DM Kludde |

Also, Kludde, did the chronicles being assigned to the wrong characters ever get resolved?
You tell me. You can see the chronicles applied to your character by going to your profile and viewing the sessions tab. I think I resolved all of them, but some of them were out of my hand (the gameday 3 ones). I'd really like to leave this episode behind me at some point ;-)

![]() |

Well, level 4 is applied to Jelani on the site, but I still only have a chronicle labeled for Danu. I guess it doesn't matter as long as I keep playing with this group, we all know it was Jelani in level 4, not Danu.

![]() |

Suggestion of course :P.
I'm pretty heavy on enchantment. Some conjuration and illusion for control comes second.

DM Kludde |

I'll be in China for the next two weeks, and I'm not sure what the internet situation will be there (especially, whether I can access google drawings). In the worst case, I might go black until the 21st.
