![]() |

I'm leveled and ready when the rest are. May have another thing or two to purchase, but good to go.
Thanks again for another successful level, Kludde!!! :)

![]() |

So looking at my prosperity boon my day job reroll gets me 200 gold. Then my booming settlement kicks in for an extra 50% so I should get 300 gold from my day job. Sorry ment to take care of this earlier.

![]() |

Jelani, you should be level 9. 24/3 does equal 8, but you forgot to add +1 since we don't start out at level zero.
Bruce is 9 and is now rolling d8 for inspiration and can share his extracts. Who wants a heroism?

DM Kludde |

24 xp is level 9 (you divide xp by three and add 1).

![]() |

Sorry for being so dense when it comes to PFS xp. I guess all I needed was (x/3)+1=level x=XP. I think I will be okay from now on :p
I will level up in the morning then.

![]() |

Let's see, we still haven't had Asuna, Jelani, or Fellgrim check in on gameplay...
You guys still out there?

![]() |

Hopefully Asuna is just very busy because of the holidays..
On another note, I can't believe I forgot to update Thistle's profile. All set now.
I will blast all my buff spells with longer durations as soon as we get a decent idea of what we are up against. I have a few new ones that should be fun.
Kinda hoping this is an undead level, even though I am terrified of wraiths and other level draining bad guys. Thistle could be a real pain in the undead neck....

DM, I just saw this:
As a move action, an animated shield can be loosed to defend its wielder on its own. For the following 4 rounds, the shield grants its bonus to the one who loosed it and then drops. While animated, the shield provides its shield bonus and the bonuses from all of the other shield special abilities it possesses, but it cannot take actions on its own, such as those provided by the bashing and blinding abilities. It can, however, use special abilities that do not require an action to function, such as arrow deflection and reflecting. While animated, a shield shares the same space as the activating character and accompanies the character who activated it, even if the character moves by magical means. A character with an animated shield still takes any penalties associated with shield use, such as armor check penalty, arcane spell failure chance, and nonproficiency. If the wielder who loosed it has an unoccupied hand, she can grasp it to end its animation as a free action. Once a shield has been retrieved, it cannot be animated again for at least 4 rounds. This special ability cannot be added to a tower shield.
Either that's a recent errata, or I missed it when I bought my shield. Obviously I need to switch it to a large shield instead, should I just do that now and recover the difference in the prices?

DM Kludde |

I second that - just replace it, and recover the difference in price. No problem.

![]() |

I took a a few minutes to go over studied combat and studied strike. They were getting a little muddled and I heard there was an errata. Two things I learned, even if I am going to use up studied combat with studied strike I still get the +4 to hit that round. Also after using studied strike I cannot get studied combat on that same target again in a 24 hour period unless I use a point of inspiration.

DM Kludde |

While you're in the fort, feel free to make any purchases you'd otherwise want to make. I'm fine with you just crossing off the gold/pp for the raise + restorations.

![]() |

I don't know how everyone else feels, but I would be willing to chip in for the res if we payed the gold. Res is 5450, split 6 ways is about 909gp
Then you could use your PP on the restos
Resto cost is 1280gp I think (or very close) so having me cast the restos for you (which I would be very happy to do) would save you about 500gp, if you wanted to spend gold instead of pp
total PP for the raise + 2 restos would be 24, but we wouldn't be able to help with that.
16pp for a raise, plus 2000gp for 2 restos (that I cast) might be your cheapest/most efficient option, unless you just don't plan on using that PP for anything anyways.
Totally up to you. I'm here for you. Especially since I couldn't save you. :)

![]() |

FYI, I'm also happy to chip in on PP and/or gold.
Not allowed to chip in PP, but are encouraged to chip in gold (per the PFS guide)

![]() |

Fellgrim would like to pick up the following while in town ...
2 potions of remove curse (1 to replace the potion Bruce gave him and 1 to keep) 1500 gp
1 potion of heroism 750 gp
1 potion of haste 750 gp
--
gloves of reconnaissance 2,000 gp
brass spider 2,500 gp

![]() |

Once I can afford it I'm gonna trade in my belt for a +4 con, take the str hit. I don't really need it. Then also buy a cap of the free thinker, and upgrade my cloak of resistance. That should make Jelani less squishy.

![]() |

Is it possible to "upgrade" an existing weapon to a different kind of special material? An adamantine earth breaker would be nice at some point too. If I could turn my existing hammer into one, all the better.

Unfortunately no... Gotta sell and rebuy...

The only exception to this is to alchemically silver something. Great for bashing weapons, but piercing or slashing weapons take -1 to damage.

DM Kludde |

I've put up some chronicles (link). I can extend them with day jobs - I don't think I have a set for this level.

![]() |

Looks good; thank you

![]() |

Dayjob: 1d20 + 27 + 1d8 ⇒ (20) + 27 + (3) = 50
With the prosperity boon that's 300 and booming settlement brings that to 450 gold.

![]() |

craft bows take 10: 10 + 20 = 30
Many thanks! I'm ready whenever. :)
On another note, it appears we've lost Asuna. :/

DM Kludde |

It sure looks like we've lost Asuna. It seems he's disappeared from the boards completely. A pity, really.
I don't think any of you level up this time around. Are you all ready for level 12?
I'll update those chronicles for day jobs, but you already know how much you've earned, so just feel free to use that.

![]() |

I'll make sure Thistle is updated tonight when I get back in front of my computer.
day job, caravan diplomacy: 1d20 + 20 ⇒ (1) + 20 = 21

Never did make it to Hero lab this weekend. Just need to spend some gold really, but I'll have it ready tonight.

![]() |

Actually before we go too far into this level, can I use prestige points to buy potions of fly? After grabbing my cap of the free thinker I only have 1k GP left, but I still have 17 PP.

![]() |

Fellgrim can help with the cash if you want to save PP; speaking of which ... did we all chip in for the restoration et al.? How much was that for each of us?

![]() |

If someone can cast fly from a scroll for you, you could get 2 scrolls for the price of 1 potion.
Otherwise, yes, you can get 1 potion for 2pp

![]() |

Upgrading my cloak of resistance from +1 to +4. Stupid failing will saves... :)
taking Jelani's advice and buying a potion of fly with 2pp, and a second potion of fly with 750gp

![]() |

So just to make sure I didn't create a misunderstanding - (ignore me if you already know this) but you can only make 1 purchase with PP per chronicle sheet. Thats why Thistle is getting one potion with pp, and one with gold.
Sorry if I caused confusion, sorry if I also told you something you already know. :)

DM Kludde |

I think the limitation Thistle is referring to is for item bought for 2 PP (that are worth 750 gp or less). There, the guide states Once per session, you can acquire any single item of this cost or less from your faction by spending the appropriate number of Prestige Points. Items purchased this way are worth 0 gp and cannot be sold.
I think you can buy as many raise deads during a scenario as you like, unless I'm wrong.

![]() |

That's how I understand it

DM Kludde |

I've got three open spots in a new run of 'the quest for perfection' (a tier 1-5 trilogy). I thought I'd advertise here first, before I throw it out in the open. If any of you are interested, let me know.

![]() |

Definitely interested. I have a 2.5 level rogue tengu that I would love to play.
