Valeros, as a pregen, has weapon focus (Longsword). It would not be optimal for him to take the spear given that. Could he use it? Sure. But it'd be a 'wash' mechanically.

"We almost done with the keg? If so, we can just leave the empty here? We're going to have to come back to pack up the lab anyway, right?"

Just need to know which way the party is going. Refer to this post for descriptions.

I don't know. Have you ever thrown a longsword? And there's +1 damage to consider.

Tyranius awaits Valeros to open the secret door and pass through. He places his falchion back in its scabard.

Valeros opens the secret door, and there is a very long hallway visible from the door. Strangely enough, there's also four skeletons there with shortbows. They turn to attack. Looks like they might be dropping their bows! Looks like they were expecting company from down the hallway, but not really from this direction!

If resting is an option without ending the mission, I say we take advantage of that, but be ready to go HFS dump healing on Val if the door to the south sucks. And let's put Creat up there to check for traps, just in case?

I'm not "that kind" of GM to not let a party rest during a full length module (I hate that myself honestly)... especially a 1-2, and even more especially with a way to get back to the city really easily. And with that, people can make purchases in town or use Prestige in town, since it's Kaer Maga and is gigantic. May not want to rest all the time though. The Pharasmites are worried!
