Okay, so a sweet idea entered my head during work today. This paizocon, I was simply blown away by...well, everything. And I found myself wondering how I could be more of a part of things. Well, it came to me when I fondly remembered Lilith's cookies at the con. What if, to help the amazing Lilith spread her cookie-related cheer, a few of the rest of us baked some up next year and brought em along! That way even more people could get something sweet. So, with that, I present to you (pending Lilith's approval of course!) *drumrolls*
The Lilith Cookie Brigade! I could even try to make little badges. The idea behind it is if you see someone toting around one of these little badges, you can try and snag a cookie. Sound good?

Cookies aren't exactly my forte. Maybe we could broaden recruitment to other baked goods? I make a mean banana bread...
Hah, I got the jump on you guys!
Being local and thus access to my kitchen, I brought fresh brownies to Unspeakable Futures (still gooey and meltingly delicious)
*AND*
Fresh apple-rhubarb streusel muffins to my Sandrivers of Khandelwal game on Sunday morning!
Since my fellow players were not complete pigs, if you were around the room or the hallway you almost certainly had muffins and brownies thrust upon you (including Jason Bulmahn & Rob McCreary on a smoke break outside the hotel) - the Happy Baked Treats Brigade was already on the job!
Who's with us for 2010?
P.S. Don't forget Majuba's exceptionally green and brainy Goblin Brains!

I'm in! I can't compete with the freshness of Jason Nelson's goods, but I will assure that my cookies will be as fresh as they can be bringing them from the other side of the state :-). Now if I could only think of a way to make my infamous apple-ham grilled cheese sandwiches -- I'm sure they're the reason my home players continue to show up to be beaten into a pulp...

Just for that great response, I'll be bringing my George grill next year and making lunch for all of my players (and Neil of course! And Jason if he'll trade me some warm brownies!). "That hits, roll damage...hang on, I gotta flip the sandwich..."

We need a new t-shirt with that logo on it. :-D

...if anyone can think of other "themed" names for the cookies, that'd be great :)
Sure, how about Mammy Graul's Ogre Patties? :-D
No? Okay.
Maybe just a Chelish Devil's Food Cake?
Mwangi Expanse Banana Bread?
Sarenrae's Rice Krispy Treats?
Zon-Kuthon's Pretzel Twists?
Pharasma's Death-by-Chocolate?
Abadar's Golden Sponge Cake?
Shelyn's Sugar Cookies?
Lini's Strawberry Shortcake?
First World Brownies?
And...please pardon the pun...
Seoni's Cupcakes. :-D
::looks around::
What?
Too much?
Oh, c'mon...somebody had to say it!

I'm specifically forbidden from large baking projects, however, Immora did make some wonderfully delicious chocolate chocolate chip cookies.
On a side note. PAX had something similar last year and it was a great success though kinda small compared to the rest of the convention. Seems like it would work really well for this PaizoCon. ^_^ I approve.

Totally. Next year an Avatar T-Shirt is almost mandatory, we need to work on that!
If you do get one...wear it, as my roomie brought some and I, like a jerk, forgot it in a drawer and didn't wear it, even though I meant to.
Cool shirt, though, and it's gonna get some wearing. Thanks, Tom! :D

If I have an opportunity to be more of a presence at next year's PaizoCon, I'll attempt to implement the Food Court of Evil:
Asmod-donuts
Won-Ton-Kuthon
Scrambled Eggathoa
Nor-Burgers
Lamash-Tofu
Javagug coffee
Okay, I guess won-ton, scrambled eggs, burgers, and tofu don't make ideal snack foods.
But I'll see what I can't do about providing some Asmod-donuts and Javagug coffee.

so I had a few thoughts over the last few days.
Varisian Spice Cookies (ginger snaps?)
Galtan "Final Cakes" (Red Velvet cupcakes)
Chelaxian Devils' Food (nuff said)
I definitely will be making those, and more as I think of them
I had another idea, though. I wanted to know what people thought of using these as a sort of...fundraiser for Wayfinder, if the Wayfinder staff thinks its a good idea and we're even allowed to. We wouldn't have to do much...bake things, and offer them for whatever cheap price we think is best. I mean, someone suggested to me just donating the money spent on making the baked goods, but this is more fun :)
Whatcha think?

Nick Logue handing out cookies. In a chainmail bikini!
Thoughts flowing, can't stop...
GAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH HHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!
Um, no. I'll still do the banana bread, but someone else dons the chainmail bikini to hand it out. I had a blast at Paizocon, but certain lines should not be crossed.

No thoughts on this? I think it would be a really good way to raise money for the 'zine and alleviate the out-of-pocket expense for people that work on it.

I may be wrong, but I thought Wayfinder pretty much had to cover its printing costs before they could even print and bring it to PaizoCon. And though I love me some bake sales, I can't imagine still trying to raise money for the fanzine at PaizoCon, because that would mean they still didn't have enough to print it yet. And I don't imagine a decent bake sale could be conducted before PaizoCon unless you're going to mail everyone their goodies.
About the only way I could see this working is if you held a bake sale at PaizoCon to raise money for the next issue of Wayfinder. The product itself has to stay non-profit, otherwise they'll be violating the community use rules from Paizo.
But that's just my two-cents,

Seems about time to dust off this thread and find out if we're still doing this...
I think the Golarion-themed food item would work. I'd say pick one and go with it. We'll meet up at some time and take pictures and compare notes or something. :P
Example: I choose Varisian spice cookies. Somebody else chooses Javagug, etc. I'd start making claims in this thread. :P
