[PFS CORE] GM Mjolbeard's "Between the Lines" (7-01) (Inactive)

Welcome and thanks for signing up for this CORE run of Between the Lines, folks!

First off, I'd like to introduce myself a bit to those of you who haven't played with me before. I'm GM Mjolbeard. I've been playing PFS for a little over 2 years now, much of which has included PBP as a venue. I highly value the game, and love to do as much as I can to throw in a lot of role-play with my roll-play. Though I don't get to play it as much, I think CORE is a great venue for that kind of creativity, since it forces you to find new and interesting ways to work with the more limited materials available for you to use. With that in mind, here are a few expectations that I will hold for myself as well as my players in this game:

1) Please try to maintain a posting rate of 1+ post/weekday. Weekends are almost always busier for me than weekdays in one way or another, so I may or may not post during that timeframe. I'd accept the same from you. Within those posting rates, I'd love to see as much role-play from each of you as you feel comfortable with. Particularly good role-play can potentially earn things like circumstance bonuses on various rolls.
2) Please list important information about your character in the Classes/Levels section of your stat block. Please also have your full character sheet available in your character's profile. If you're at all unsure what I'm talking about, feel free to take a look at my PFS characters for some examples.
3) I'll roll initiative for combats and perception for potential surprise situations. I'll also provide information for knowledge checks in spoilers with the DCs listed. Please refrain from reading the spoilers unless you make the DC with the appropriate skill check.

That's it for the most part. As far as start date goes, I'd like to have everyone dotted in a getting warmed up on November 24, then we'll really get things going after the weekend on November 27. For now, please provide the requested info for your character using the template below. You can also dot in on the gameplay thread with your character of choice.

Hello all, and hail the GM, with thanks for running this!

I have played this, and GM-ed it too (both in Standard), but, although I will of course not spoil, and stick more to the back (but this is not the most social character anyhow, so that fits fine), I must confess that I have no idea at all what this scenario was about (!) - I DMed it 2 1/2 years ago and played it 2 years ago.

What does Dale do? Shoot acid rays at stuff (+5 touch within 30 ft, 1d6+2 damage, and Dale has precise shot). If things are grouped up or get close, Color Spray. Swarms? Burning Hands. Hard to hit? Magic Missile.

To be clear, are we being offered a trade? We get to leave safely if we leave our boss behind? Because Dwozer is definitely not the type to risk his neck a second time, right after saving it from said boss' stupidity.

Yep! That’s correct.

Saving her is almost certainly the secondary success condition, but in character I have to vote for leaving her behind--so talk Dwozer out of it.

@Dale: Any chance you could use your scroll of obscuring mist? If we move around right after, the archivist won't know which squares to target.

I usually save that for instances where the enemy or enemies are ranged combatants. In this case, we have two ranged combatants and I think it would hurt us more than help. And especially with its true strike this round, we would be giving ourselves concealment while it wouldn't have any.

Totally out of subject, but: I like the new design, except for the bold that is not as different as before!

Thank you all for playing! As Dale said in the gameplay thread, this is a bit of a weird scenario with lots of set-pieces to cycle through, but it's kind of an interesting one in my opinion, with a fair mix of social and combat encounters. I'd love to play with any of you folks again, so make sure to watch out for me on the Flaxseed boards. I'll probably have another game up before too long!
