Kolris makes sure to translate what the leshys say to him for the rest of the Pathfinders. He does not translate Malik's questions at all, knowing that questions about grinding would be frightening, and fearing that questions about seeds and reproduction could be offensive.

No, the only way down (that you have been able to find so far) is the gate across from the patch.

Jacques listened to the translations, but still had trouble grasping what was going on. Talking gourds?

That certainly topped the list of strange things he had seen so far in his short career.

As the rest of the group started to cross the courtyard toward the entrance to the section of the house below ground, he got up and started climbing down from his elevated perch. The distance he had to travel made him one of the last to cross.

He gingerly attempted to step through the patch without stepping on anything that might be alive.

Nali hops down from her perch, and with a practiced eye, goes to step though the field. "Something that scares them is below?" she asks Kolris to confirm before closing her eyes for a moment, whispering a prayer in Elven. When she opens them, they have a faint silver sheen to them.

Six round pillars and a large iron gate built into a low archway on the west wall are not the most compelling features of this musty cellar. Drawings rendered from soot and dark brown paint cover the walls. They’re broken up by narrow fissures of dark earth and crumbled plaster. The room is filled with bones, most of which are heaped around a large throne against the south wall.

The oldest and most obscured of these drawings depict scenes of the Thrune family being savaged and brutalized by humans and devil-kin alike. The newest scrawlings depict civilians burning under a Chelish flag. The bones are leftovers from animal and humanoid creatures that met their end.

The dark brown 'paint' is actually dried blood.

So saying the woman touches Smiley's shoulder and speaks a single word...

Mesmerist trick False Flanker, Zhatara triggers it as soon as Smiley engages an enemy in melee

False Flanker (DC16):
A duplicate of the mesmerist appears momentarily, as though he were fighting in tandem with the subject. The mesmerist can trigger this trick when the subject moves into or begins her turn in a square where she threatens an enemy. An illusory duplicate of the mesmerist appears in any unoccupied space adjacent to that enemy. This duplicate counts as threatening the enemy for the purposes of determining flanking, but can't actually make attacks. The duplicate disappears at the end of the turn during which the trick is triggered. This is an illusion (figment) effect, and a creature that interacts with the false flanker can attempt a saving throw to disbelieve the effect.

He pockets the pearl and spellbook, knowing that the Grand Lodge would love to have them included with his report.

As long as he didn't detect any traps, Kolris will begin cautiously heading down the corridor, rapier drawn. He has low-light vision.

Malik walks down the stairs, and throws the bone to the ground. Still in thought, he speaks quietly as he walks - "Those teeth were human, I think. Or something similar."

His eyes set on the throne and he stops in his tracks. "What the hell is that doing here?"

03-01 Frostfur Captives

Skeletal corpses thinly wrapped in decaying burial linen rest in niches cut into the stone of a wide hallway, which is intersected by numerous narrow fissures. Many of the niches have collapsed, with bony remains jutting out of the rocks and dark earth. The hallway opens into a larger room, where a stone altar is surrounded by cracked walls decorated with intricate reliefs of religious figures and prominent Davians whose tombs lie beyond.

The hall opens into a room filled with relief-covered walls surrounding a large stone altar where clerics performed rituals over the dead. The reliefs depict scenes of Aroden on Golarion, particularly a lesser miracle performed at Westcrown, in which he transformed and revitalized a garden of roses. On a family member’s death, this room was covered with white roses as clerics prepared the body of the recently deceased for burial. Of late, the rites performed on the stone altar have become far more macabre.

Hanging upside down by a thick metal chain is a troll. That troll is being tortured and tormented by a Ghoul. With all the cuts blood and other entrails and vicera litter the floor. Anyone moving in/around the RED square must make an ACROBATICS check or fall prone.

Edit: I tend to use Power Attack for almost all attacks, but I didn't realize until I researched that it applies to Combat Maneuvers as well (thus affecting any damage I do in subsequent rounds). I would like to retconn my roll here to include Power Attack, but since I already posted it I won't directly modify. As always, GM's ruling is accepted graciously either way.

Edit Edit: It occurs to me that I can use PA next round to attempt to keep the grapple, so my question seems to be moot. Leaving it here in case I'm horribly wrong.

Jacques pulls back on his bow, but pauses before releasing, thinking of waiting for Smiley to move out of the way. However, the scuffling of additional feet in the room convinces him to shoot without delay and allow Smiley the time to make his own tactical preparations.
