Appearance:
A non-descript traveler with a shady hat and a skinny moustache. He has a friendly and open manner.

Background:
Jacques grew up on a farm in the town of Nybor in Varisia. He never took to farm chores and spent as much time as possible supplementing the trade and food supplies by hunting.

His skill with a bow and tracking made it so that he rarely got much criticism for his lack of dedication to the farm.

When he was a young teen, a time came when he encountered a travelling merchant and his guard in town. Through conversation, Jacques began bragging about his skill with a bow.

The guard challenged Jacques to an archery competition that Jacques quickly won. The guard paid the wager and then invited Jacques into the local tavern where he invited Jacques to play Harrow. Jacques' luck and skill did not carry through to cards, and he soon found himself owing the guard more money than a farm boy would ever likely earn.

The merchant and guard turned out to be Sczarni. Whether or not the archery competition was a set up, Jacques found himself with no choice but to join up with the band in order to pay off his debt.

Jacques and the rest of the crew spent the next few years as roaming bandits on the roads around Sandpoint and Magnimar. He found that he rather enjoyed the life, and spent much time honing his skills in Harrow and other games of chance. Archery competitions continued to be his primary form of gambling, however.

During a foray into Sandpoint, he engaged a man who turned out to be a Pathfinder to a game of Harrow. During conversation, Jacques learned much about him and about the society.

He managed to gain an introduction to the Society and his Sczarni contacts made him an instant fit with The Exchange.
