"We cannot bring back the dead, and ending some pointless feud seems the best course of action here. It is, however, likely that just showing up on the doorstep of Zoarth will yield another confrontation. My guess is that Zoarth is likely to prove as stubborn in these matters as the "Storm Queen". It is a risk worth wagering against, I think.

"Seems we have no other choice. Let us hope they are reconcilable."

The Storm Queen whose name you find out is Verakas takes you to Zoarth's castle. You land and make your way to his throne room. The Cloud Giant mage is sitting on his throne reading a book. He notices you come in and his eyes widen as he sees his lost love. "Verakas? What are you doing here? How?"

"The lady has deep grievances against you that she wishes to discuss. It's regarding a matter of magical cats and birds, and grievous wrongs she claims you have done to her, and a desire for vengeance which has caused death of others." Davoliznakamushka explains.

"We, as outsiders, are interested in both ending the deaths of innocents, and making the truth of matters plain to all. We would much appreciate your version of history regarding your involvement with this lady, Master Zoarth."

"And why should I care to discuss this?" As he raises his voice, his cats, mostly of the house variety start entering the room.

Shin stays quiet, but watches the felines warily.

Shin glances askance at his party and back to the cats, shaking his head slowly, while his hand edges to his blade.

"Perhaps you are correct. I should be adult about this. I.." But before he can apologize, the cats surrounding him start jumping all over him seemingly starving for attention. You can see his eyes glaze over and his attitude seems to change. "Am not sorry! Now be gone!" Veraka's eyes widen in fury and she turns to you expecting to do something.

Dora looks at the others

"We see you are reasonable. Shall we all sit down an discuss this over tea, maybe giving the felines a chance to play outside for a bit? "

Any sort of knowledge useful here on what the cats might be, or the nature of their influence over him? Use loremaster to get 35-40 ranger.

"Has it occurred to you, Zoarth, that you may not be in complete control of your own faculties? An orc child could see that your "friends" the cats have some strange effect on your mind. Could it be they have some strange powers of enchantment? Are you giant enough to send them away?" the gnome yells up to the giant.

Red, if he is under a compulsion/charm, can we possibly do a Charm Monster and force a Charisma check? (although it would almost certainly initiate combat if I failed.)

Pallas nods. "Since we all seem to want to resolve this issue, would you mind if I ask you a question? Would you mind if I dispel any magic currently effecting you? We have done what you asked, we have stopped the attacks on your this your ... lady friend here, and we just want to make sure that you are safe, that there is nothing else currently being done to you, magically. I will perform the magic in the open and you will be able to see what I am casting on you. It will simply be a dispel magic spell, or rather a number of them if there are multiple effects on you, or if I have a hard time dispelling anything on you. Do you have anything cast on yourself currently?"

"Just my normal daylong spells. I would prefer you did not cast spells on me." The cats start to hiss at Pallas.

"But you did ask us to clear up your disagreement with her, in exchange for your help. And we can't fulfill our agreement until we make sure that all the loose ends are tied up."

Dora has prot from evil available, but not ready to touch the giant and start a fight.

Dora thinks for a minute then addresses the giant.

"Have you ever seen one of our Wayfinders? Fascinating devices actually. I have a special "shining" one I would be willing to let you try if you'd like?"

Pallas shakes his head. "No, Zoarth, we have a deal, and you have not fulfilled your end of the bargain. There is no reason to get upset. We are just talking here."

The cats' eyes turn red. "That's enough!" Suddenly eight of the cats change shape, growing large with big sabre-like teeth. "See? He and those infernal cats must die!" Veraka's yells as she charges only to be interrupted by four of them. Also one of the bulky crude stone statues animates!

Zoarth throws a ball of fire at the party!

Dora will try to slip out of the grasp of the tiger.

If dora is clear of the tiger, she will cast invisibility on herself and stops singing (persists 2 rounds).

Dora easily escapes the grasp of the now paralyzed tiger. Zoarth casts a spell and a cloud of glittery dust falls over Brom, Shinkeer, and Davo. Will Saves DC 16 negates The Golem then moves over to Brom and slams a mighty fist onto the orc.

It then tries to slow everyone around it. Everyone can give me a DC17 Will save or be slowed as per the spell for 7 rounds.

The tiger tries not to be slowed.
