Pallas Morningstar
|
Pallas shrugs and pats the gnome on the back before he disappears, "I wish I could help, Davo, but I'm sure you will do well. Try not to get caught!"
Shinkeer Aswander
|
Shin begins to pace back and forth. "He has been gone a while. What do you think the gnome has found? Do you think he has been captured?"
Davoliznakamushka
|
I'm sorry, I missed the DMs earlier post. Don't be shy about poking me via message
Davoliznakamushka will start at the edges of the camp, looking for leadership, armories, prisoners, siege weapons, and anything magical (especially wards and alarm spells.)
Perception: 1d20 + 26 ⇒ (8) + 26 = 34
Spellcraft+det magic: 1d20 + 13 ⇒ (1) + 13 = 14
Although, by the initial description, there is probably none of those things, but probably a just a hole in the cliff base.
Dora D Asplora
|
"Shin, I am sure the professor is just fine. I bet he is just taking hair samples for later analysis or something."
Dora smiles reassuringly and then watches to see if their friend returns.

5d20 ⇒ (5, 10, 15, 17, 3) = 50
You don't find anything magical. Trudging throughout the camp you see a lot of tents with mostly young giants as most of the able bodied went to the castle before being massacred. Though you do find a cave. Assuming you progress inside, one room contains 6 chained up troll slaves all seemingly sewing. In the last room, a flickering pair of torches provide light. Furs and skins hang on the walls, and the skulls of beasts and humans are displayed like trophies. More furs lay across the floor, around a bed of still more furs piled high. Two giants stand in this cave. One, a hill giant, bears a large scar from a wound that appears to have torn away one of his ears long ago. He wears a short red cloak of some scaly hide, as well as a large glittering earring in his remaining ear. The other is thin by giant standards and wears a silver necklace covered in charms of moons and stars. Most remarkably, however, he has but one eye—he's a cyclops.
Davoliznakamushka
|
The gnomish professor fights off the urge to unleash the trolls and enjoy the resulting havoc... instead, he hurries back with information on the disposition of the enemy, tapping himself with another expeditious retreat along the way to speed his return.
stealth on the return: 1d20 + 33 ⇒ (5) + 33 = 38
When he returns he keeps his invisibility but excitedly explains the situation, a voice floating from thin air.
"I have explored their camp! Most of the remaining hill giants are young; we seem to have wiped out the bulk of their adult warriors. However, the leadership remains. In the cliff there is a cave; in one part are six chained troll slaves. Beyond that, some sort of hill giant general and a cyclops adviser, likely some sort of spellcaster. They seem to make sport of collecting the heads of humanoids and animals as trophies; quite barbaric, in fact; I do not think talk is an option. I suggest we use teleportation magic to get the drop on them and catch them by unaware. I can take three of you into the main chamber. What say you, Pathfinders?"
Pallas Morningstar
|
Pallas nods at the gnome's suggestion. "Professor, if you can give me the precise direction and distance, I can take the rest of the group, including Rusty. Is the leadership visible to the young warriors? If the cave is out of sight, I could also cloak us in magical silence and we could be in and out without anything knowing any better."
Davoliznakamushka
|
"Give you precise directions? Of course! Simple use of the trigonometry invented by the Azlanti..." He rambles on at some length, his invisibility fading away, producing several sheets of equations before providing a solution. Engineering 25?
As an afterthought he adds "Oh, and yes the cave is out of sight"
Pallas Morningstar
|
Pallas looks to his other companions, "What say you, lady and gentlemen? Shall we cloak ourselves in magic and take care of the leadership? Perhaps it is best to leave at least one of them alive for questioning? I'm still curious about exactly what this has all been about."
Dora D Asplora
|
"Ready as can be, right Rusty? "
Dora pats the wolf and will cast buffs before teleport/door
prot evil on her and Rusty, rage on wolf and div favor on herself .
Davoliznakamushka
|
1d20 + 8 ⇒ (9) + 8 = 17
The gnome seems oblivious to the hulking man's discomfort at working with a known enemy of the Taldan Empire. Caught up in the moment, perhaps the gnome has forgotten his duty as a Noble and Lion's Blade to shun the Cult of the Dawnflower.
"Brom'ash, this shall be a notable day in our careers! I highly recommend that you assault the giant with one eye first. Best to take any significant unknowns out of the picture."
Davoliznakamushka will caste the following on the Taldan warrior: an extended heroism, and a displacement. On himself he casts vanish, and he starts lecturing on the terrible prophetic powers of cyclops. The silence will quell his helpful advice, but at least the magic will linger for a few seconds once they begin their assault.
He readies to cast a dimension door with Brom'mash and Shinkeer...
Heroism on Brom (220 minutes)
Displacement on Brom (8 rounds left at beginning of battle)
Vanish (9 rounds left at beginning of battle)
Dimension door

FYI, Pallas is Osirian, not Qadiran. Ethnically he is Keleshite, but his family has been living in Osirion for over 1,000 years. He has no allegiance to the Padishah Emperor, but serves the Ruby Prince. Being quite educated, Davo would probably know this.
Good Hope on party (11 mins)
Shield from wand (7 rounds left at beginning of battle)
Haste on party (9 rounds left at beginning of battle)
Begin Battle Dance and draw wand of saving finale, cast Dimension Door
NOTE: NO SILENCE CAST
Shinkeer Aswander
|
Shin takes out his wand and uses it Brom and himself. He nods his readiness, then get ready to cast a vanishing spell as Davo shifts them.
Pallas Morningstar
|
sorry, my mistake. I'm pretty sure in the old Empire they aren't too picky about the heritage of a follower of Sarenerae though ;)
Actually, that's been updated in the new Inner Sea Gods book. Sarenrae is no longer an illegal religion in Taldor!

So you all cast your various spells and then teleport in like a well trained military team. The chieftain is stunned by your arrival, so stunned that he surrenders. "How you get in here? I no want to die. What do you want?" He drops his weapons and puts his hands up. "Who you be? Why you here?"
Pallas Morningstar
|
What does the room look like? Does it have a door? If so, I want to close it to give us a bit of privacy. After that I'd say we disarm them and have a chat, but not before we are sure the rest of the giants won't come storming in.
Dora D Asplora
|
if the chief is responding in common, then Dora will reply without casting tongues.
"We are here to put an end to your tribes unjust attacks on the neighboring peoples and animals. Do we have your attention?"
Dora will auto assist Pallas on diplo or intimidate once conversation starts.
Pallas Morningstar
|
Once the giant and the cyclopes are disarmed, Pallas will talk. "Why have you attacked the giant in the castle? We were told you attacked him without provocation. We have been attacked by your soldiers, and do not wish to kill any more giants, but we will if you do not cooperate."
Intimidation check + Dora's assist: 1d20 + 25 + 2 ⇒ (4) + 25 + 2 = 31
Crappy roll, but should still be good enough.
Shinkeer Aswander
|
Shinkeer tries to look intimidating.
Intimidate Aid: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (17) + 4 = 21
Pallas Morningstar
|
Shinkeer tries to look intimidating.
Nice, that gets us up to 33.
Pallas Morningstar
|
"Interesting, and can you tell me any more about this Storm Queen?"
Davoliznakamushka
|
At the moment, Davo seems more interested in what she is then where she is.
"Is she larger then you, or the same size? Does she have... special parts, humps and things like your people, or does she look like a regular human but bigger? Is her skin brown, grey, or blue? Dos she wield lightning? Can she make clouds?"
Dora D Asplora
|
Dora leans over to Pallas and whispers...in Orisani
"I wonder if either of these ladies have been a little too 'charming' to the chief, here."
Pallas Morningstar
|
Pallas nods, but sadly does not have any way of detecting charms. He continues this conversation with the chief. "And who is this pretty lady on the big bird that she sends? Is she a giant too? Did she tell you how to contact her after you capture the giant?"
Pallas Morningstar
|
Pallas sighs. "Four days west? Where does she live? How did she say to find her?"
Dora D Asplora
|
Dora will use her lore master (28) to identify the town and share with the others.
"I believe there is a town in that direction...Jol or something ."
Shinkeer Aswander
|
Shinkeer leans in and says quietly. "Perhaps it was someone disguised as a giant?"
Davoliznakamushka
|
"Perhaps. Certainly, it seems like a wizard or witch is involved somewhere, on account of the specially crafted sword. Illusions are not impossible."
"Well, it seems that our foe has changed on us once again. What shall we do with the Chieftan?"
Shinkeer Aswander
|
"Tell them to return to their homes or suffer our wrath?" Shin says helpfully.
Pallas Morningstar
|
Pallas looks around and sighs. "Well, it seems we still might need the chieftain. After all, we have no way of finding this giant woman. She's just expecting one of these giants to march her way to let her know about the defeat of our client. I don't see how we find her without at least one of them."
Dora D Asplora
|
Dora nods in agreement.
"So it would appear. So now what? March a couple of them out and see if she appears?".
Pallas Morningstar
|
Pallas looks around to the other casters. "I'm afraid I don't have any long-term enchantment spells to ensure their cooperation. Does anyone else have any?"
