The necklace was the last item. We found that, I think.

And Callistria's purview includes vengeance... and letting him go does not sit well with that.
Touchy is not inclined to agree to his terms.

"You got a bit more to answer for then a few thefts, fool." Touchy says, with a frown.

He moves over to make sure Baran isn't going to be a problem should he break free of the spell.

Move over to Baran, and prepare to tie him up so he's not an issue if he saves.

The Final Battle - Round 3 - continued

Bless is in effect, 9 rounds

21 Valandil and summoned creature
20 Sindelle (2hp dmg)
20 Baran (22hp dmg, paralyzed)
18 Wit
8 Touchy
6 Loggerhead
4 Sabas (blinded, BP active)
3 Stugbu (3hp dmg)

Touchy moves over to the still-frozen warrior, attepmpting to tie him up should he suddenly revive.

Wit rushes to the now-visible jester and sweeps his legs out from under him with a single move, dropping the blind target to the floor, prone.

From the floor, the jester makes a desperate attempt to cast a defensive spell, but it fizzles.

Stugbu is up now. Valandil (his summons) and Sindelle can also act to start the new round.

Wit trip, bless vs blind: 1d20 + 12 + 1 ⇒ (4) + 12 + 1 = 17
Concentration check: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (3) + 10 = 13

"You promise to be good guy if we let you live?" Stugbu is not sure whether to trust the tricky jester but at least wants to give him a chance.

Merciful Smite/non-lethal attack. Power Attack

The Archon steps up to the Jester and strikes out with his massive sword, before trying to bite the foul man.

Sindelle keeps an eye on Baran just in case he somehow breaks free of the spell. She takes a five foot step then readies an action to cast murderous command on him if he does! (dc 17 and it's not language dependent so her tongues curse won't affect it)

The Final Battle - Round 3 - concluded

Using the flat of his blade, Stugbu pummels the prone jester, bruising him as he cries out .

End of Round 3

The Final Battle - Round 4

Bless is in effect, 8 rounds

21 Valandil and summoned creature
20 Sindelle (2hp dmg)
20 Baran (22hp dmg, paralyzed)
18 Wit
8 Touchy
6 Loggerhead
4 Sabas (blinded, 27 NL dmg)
3 Stugbu (3hp dmg)s

As Sindelle stands ready to blast Baran if he gets free, Valandil commands the archon to attack the downed jester. The extraplanar hound serves justice on the chaotic evil jester, stiking and biting him, causing enough wounds that the helpless Sabas succumbs and drops unconscious.

Baran continues to be held by Touchy's divine spell and is eventually bound with rope in case the magical effect wears off.

End of Combat

Given the jester is blind and prone, its a -6 on his AC, and the bite and first attack also hit. I will add the damage below, but its probably enough to end the fight.

1st attack dmg: 2d6 + 6 ⇒ (4, 5) + 6 = 15
Bite dmg: 1d8 + 3 ⇒ (2) + 3 = 5
Baran Will: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (6) + 2 = 8

With the fight over, you are able to find the alabaster urn in the private quarters of the Sabas. He also has a wand of touch of idiocy, and a wand of web, along with a MW buckler, MW rapier, and MW chain shirt.

With enough effort, Sindelle is able to free Baran from his charm and the man immediately lunges for the unconscious jester tyring to kill him in revenge.

With your recovery of all the items and embarrassing defeat of the Blackfist group, they clear out quickly. The Lionbanes offer to escort you back to Bourtze's stronghold, if you choose to return the items to him.

You may, at your discretion, just take the cursed items and urn back to the Society for safekeeping.

"Our arrangement is to return these items so that the society can purchase the trove of lore about Qadira's Grand Campaign against Taldor. We may offer to look after them for him after returning - which given at least one major attack on his family and holdings resulted from them may be in his interests. But first and foremost we must return them."

Silver Crusade

"Yeah, sound like right thing to do!" Stugbu agrees. "So Jester bad guy, after all. We right not to believe him. Bad guys are liars!"

Gathering the items and your gear, you leave the ruins of Rhoetius and begin the long journey through the ruined hinterlands of Taldor back to Evondemor where Bourtze awaits.

Arriving without incident, you present the family heirlooms to the Tribune. He is quite pleased with their recovery and agrees to take on the Lionblades to replace the guardsmen that he lost to the jester and the hags earlier.

It takes a few days for the Tribune to have the Qadiran artifacts loaded, but soon, you are headed back to Absalom with a wagonload of lore for the scholars of the Society to comb through. Aram Zey is happy with the return, but does mention his concern over the powerful relic left in the hands of Bourtze. "It may be that we have not heard the last of that alabaster urn."
