I'm sorry, could you please verify, I understand the 50/50 miss chance with smoke, but you are also saying that the regular light (no darkness) is below normal level? I'm only asking because those of us with darkvision see just fine in regular darkness (or any area of normal light or above with deeper darkness cast).

As well unless you are using non standard smoke (eg not the smoke provided by either the smoke bomb alchemist discovery, smoke bomb ninja trick, smoke from a smoke pellet or smoke stick alchemetical items or the 2nd lvl spell "fog cloud")
The concealment should be 20% within 5ft (eg standard concealment) and 50% beyond that
And it should dissipate soonish (espically if there is any wind)
As a note 50% concealment is the penalty for being completely blind


deeper Darkness 3ed level spell not darkness, read the GM post please.

And the smoke is coming out from the Van Cab insides, you get nothing more until you investigate INGAME.

Now game mechanic wise, guys I like the odd Q about rules but the
questioning of event by means of rules integration can come over as fishing for whats going by means of said rules Questions.

Thats normal, in fact I like it, it makes it more interesting for a gm as well in my view, coming up with new ways to challenge. I should warn you I am a GM who likes to make his players think, this encounter has not gone as planed has it, just rushing in and knocking over the domino,

I still just find it weird that it is somehow twice as hard to hit them than it would be if we closed our eyes
as a result next round I will be closing my eyes (free action) just before I try to hit then open them back up afterwords
Decent RP for choosing blind fight as my 3rd lvl feat, which is becoming nessairy in this campign.

Ok some of the pcs may work hyoid out from what they have seen of this crew, there like you, a group of what looks to be hired hands, they each there own dreas and style, thay also seem better skilled and equipped than you [level 3+] that had a nice van cab full of kit! smoke sticks, tangle foot bags, oil flasks, a hard core well set up crew, ready to kick your butts, that was until someone blow up their van cam mid prep with them in it.

The chaos after that is what your in now,
the gnome looks like an alchemist.
The elf woman a Mage
The fast guy a rouge
The hunter a summoner
And on

but I think it will help you guys understand, you win this fight by taking them all out you get a level no joke.

Like I said smokestick concealment is 50% beyond 5 ft 20% withen 5 ft but with the fireball I guess I understand the 50%

So dark vision is fine and I don't have to roll concealment
Or were we already in dim light before the spell was cast? I had assumed bright light to start with

"Bright light becomes dim light and normal light becomes darkness. Areas of dim light and darkness become supernaturally dark."
Dark vision can see through everything up to but not including supernatural darkness

I am covered in my own blood,
I never thought I would enjoy being the tank so much I knew I liked soulknife
But being the tank is an interesting RP experience, though if it were not for how good I was at being the tank it would be significantly less fun.
If I did not have my fast healing I would be at negative 1
If I did not have DR I would be at something like -10

welcome :) not the best of rolls, though that does not mean that it is not a worthwhile character to play, and I am curious to see what class is chosen (as he has not labeled) presumeably a caster of some sort, which is good as we do not have a primary caster, we have two secondary casters and a tertiary one but the rest of us are martial classes.

ok what I change for the level up, fort saves improve by one
feat: blind fighting chosen, kinda necessary as every fight so far we've had to deal with concealment which means that given some experience in fighting in such our minds may have adapted
bab increases by 1
HP increases
mind blade is now +1
SR increases
powers known: prevenom weapon, when cast save or take con damage to the first person I successfully deal damage to after casting it


Reroll ones on making a PC this time only.

fair enough, though if the "light saber" is not useable effectively by soulknives, as in makes our mind blades completely obsolete, I will be mildly upset,

Ah, but as an Alchemist I don't get the penalties for casting 'spells' in armor. So...the healer wearing full-plate and throwing bombs around seems like a pretty good idea. Add a tower shield and I can be healing people behind total cover. (^_~)

That's cool, I'm going on a short brake from the 5 till 8th so like you phone only

Now and then.

What will will do is let you, stay in house till it's time to go to the talk in game,
The painter will pay shop price for any thing you wish to sell, he says for props,
To help him remember this event. Also the model will go out once to get any thing you wish to pay for magic our other, lot of good shops round here, so make a list, pay hi. 100gp for this.

Gigar paid for this safe house with a hero point, you will not be attacked wile in this house.

Some time later, in another part of the city and elf woman stands in a darkened room

A voice in the darkness says
"Explain to me what just happened to one of my bester hunter teams Little one."

They came out of nowhere sir, it was like they where hunting us, then, well Alpha said get in the van can, full load out, and then boom! They could not have hit us at a better time, their pros sir, I know that, they hit us do fast I co..."

A long silence then,
"That's a problem sir, the hunter alpha would not tell me, said it was his and his teams job to know, agents where just along for the show"

More silence
Then the voice in the darkness is cold and hard when it's simply says.
"That is Unfortunate agent, please repost to debriefing"

With out a word the elf woman gos,

The voice in the darkness says into a small grill
"Agent 062, is to be retired after debriefing, confirm"

A voice comes back
"Confirmed"

Then silence.
