Maja
Purchases -
Halfing Traveling Rations (9cp each) x 4 days (1/2lb each for 2lbs of additional weight).
Canteen (1 gp 8sp) (1lb of additional weight)
Hammock (1sp) (3lbs of additional weight)
(Tazo please deducted 2gp 2sp and 5cp from your coins.)
I just purchased items that the rest of the party is purchasing.

I will give it a few days so that every one can get their supply buy in in Burle. In the meantime I am going to move us forward. You have two days (RL) to get your supply list in and deduct cost/add weight to your character. Tazo (Maja) is being botted until next Wednesday so I bought the supplies I thought she would purchase based on need/what some of the other party members already purchased.
In meantime I am going to post to move us out of Burle and on to Feremon's home.

Now that's a shopping trip! Good thing we didn't cut across the countryside!

The ink, Anti Plague/Anti Poison/Alchemist fire is hard to come by. These you will need to procure from more back alley contacts. To save on time Maja will have a Network of Contacts (to be named later) in Burle that deals with black market items. THese will cost 10% more than the base cost (discounted for Maja). If you need to make adjustments in what you buy due to cost let me know.
Due to the events going on those items are in high demand and the specialized ink is not something that would be openly sold at the moment.

@Perri: Hope you don't mind a scouting joke or two. FWIW, I'm an eagle scout. Though I am not involved with Boy Scouts any longer, it was a great experience. I can still tie several knots I learned back then!

I have a question about the anatomy skill. I see that the House Rules doc says for each rank I have, I need to pick a type/subtype out of the humanoid/monstrous humanoid types. Would Animal also be allowed? I'm thinking of veterinarian type service.

Excellent! Thanks

If we can herd the surviving animals into the barn, Bynoth's Screaming Flames Spell may be able to end their suffering and scourge them of disease?
Failing that some of us need to load up on antiplague and unfortuately slaughter them. Then all carcasses should be dragged to a pyre and burned.

I think that is what we are supposed to find out...assuming we don't turn tail and run away that is, he he.

The plague has been around for some time now. We may be familiar enough with its pathology to already recognize it.

Thanim |

From Thanim's involvement with the church and its role in treating/containing the plague, is he aware of the success of curing the plague, either through treatment or spells (as in Remove Disease)?

You guys have had little dealings with it but have heard rumors of it being more north and east of you. This would be the first sighting of the plague in the area.
It has been going on for five years in various areas around the edges and outside of the Valley...

You have dealt with minor bouts of plague in localized areas but nothing like what is currently going on...you have heard through rumors it is bad...it spreads quickly and there is more to the disease than just the physical component. It also brings a curse of some sort but you don't know the details.

Uh-oh. This really makes me hope that the 12 you had in parenthesis on that fortitude roll was the DC for that situation and that Thanim passed it! If not, hmm, we shall see.

@All: Slammed at work, busy phase of ops going on with skeleton crew (alas not the undead, ceaselessly working kind). Likely tail end of the week before I get some clear air - please bot me as necessary.

Thanim |

Man, I'm getting a feel for how disease (and I assume poison) play out in this campaign. I thought I was being cautious, but I take that back after all this.
@Maja, you were super right! Run away! Run away!

Thanim |

You can tell me how right I was at my grave.
Start memorizing Remove Disease, and stay the hell away from me!
Uh-oh. However, the bad news is that Thanim does not have Remove Disease in his prayer book. He is a great healer, but does not have that spell, so it will require him providing care for Maja.
@AllenDM, is this disease contagious while in the latent/carrier stage?

Thanim |

@AllenDM, would Thanim be able to use the Treatment option of his Healer's Satchel during the duration of a Nap Stack spell? If so, this could be treated overnight and the best of either Thanim's heal skill roll or Maja's fortitude save roll could be used (each would get a +4 because of the satchel).

The below is intended completely comedically and is not to be taken seriously...
Wait! Wait! But that is the very definition of irony! How perfectly asymmetric that Maja would be the only one to contract the plague! This is just punishment for bailing on the good people of the farm! I know Cerilis agrees. (I think he bears a little judgement. lol)

Seriously, it would have been supremely ironic! I wouldn't have taken it personally, getting hit by nasty crits or failing easy saves is part of the game. But I appreciate the extra life token!

Yeah this encounter did a great job setting the tone of this game, and yeah we definitely need to be more cautious in the future!

Perri Purrun |

One of the reasons I was so eager to join this one-off is because of how much I have enjoyed the GM's ability to set a tone, a mood. Makes it easier to stay involved. MUCH easier.

ALLENDM |

Appreciate that...I try to GM the way I would want my GM to run a game for me. The whole reason we do this is to have fun and enjoy a story...setting...adventure.
I am going to make a bunch of posts this Friday/Saturday/Sunday. I have been slammed at work as of late dealing with end-to-end reviews of several revenue-generating applications for vulnerabilities and it has been a long week. My brain hurts...
Going to take it easy tonight :)
