"Good idea..." Illthir squinted and mumbled an invocation.

Detect Magic! Spellcraft?: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (5) + 5 = 10

I'm going for 'fierce' here people--fierce! | The Trading Post | Tactical Map | Region |

Durgan comes up with an armful of glass beakers and vials.

Before we get to the spellcraft part (though I appreciate the thought), detect magic registers the presence of magic southwest of Illthir (she could easily guess that this would include several auras emanating from the other PCs and their equipment). Since it is just the first round of concentration though she only detects the presence of magic.

The sheets buffet Serena like an annoying cloth phantom.

white sheets slam v Serena: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (14) + 5 = 19 damage: 1d6 + 3 ⇒ (4) + 3 = 7 grab/pull?: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (1) + 9 = 10 Miss

The wardrobe scrapes the floor and attempts to slap her with one of its brass handled doors....

blue wardrobe door slam v Serena: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (2) + 9 = 11 damage: 2d6 + 6 ⇒ (4, 3) + 6 = 13 Miss

Then the door slams shut on her weapon hand's gauntlet.

blue wardrobe bite v Serena: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (20) + 9 = 29 damage: 1d8 + 9 ⇒ (3) + 9 = 12
THREAT!
blue wardrobe bite v Serena: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (7) + 9 = 16 damage: 1d8 + 9 ⇒ (8) + 9 = 17grab?: 1d20 + 15 ⇒ (11) + 15 = 26 Hit, no crit. Grappled.

The wood wardrobe creaks from deep within in triumph.

Then the bedroom door to the stairwell swings open on its own, and the sinuous serpent darts through it like an eel through seabed coral trailing a pile of scrap, and furniture some of which is too big, or too poorly angled to fit through. The animate junk piles up in front of the door. Illthir sees the white serpent's whip-like tail disappear down the stairwell like spaghetti through an eager diner's lips, followed by an eclectic collection of tiny items that clatter down the iron steps.

The red zone is for difficult terrain, there is no parking in a white zone.

A brown bookshelf scrapes forward slowly.

Yep sorry. It is a copy/paste error that I overlooked from further above. Corrected.

Zokon feathers the side of the wardrobe with arrows to less than optimal effect. Serena feels splintering wood hit the back of her clenched and gauntleted fist inside the cabinet.

Don't forget that you also get a free attack, as in the spoiler in Illthir's header, if you accept the rage and you can do so on a turn-to-turn basis.

It deals Negative Energy damage so might not work on wardrobes - but might be worth a shot : )

The door swings ineffectually at Alia as she passes.

Looking down through the remainder of the iron stair Alia can see a shimmering white bit of movement whip through the air of the warehousing area (but there is really no way to get a shot off because it would be through at least one revolution of 2 cm wide iron stair grill). A number of small objects clatter down the stairs as if pulled by an invisible fishing line attached to the thing's tail.

The ceiling below is about 15' from the floor and the stair cots out after 8' leaving the last 7' a jump.

As soon as she saw the motion and glitter it was lost again, having moved out of her field of vision.

I have no idea what to do here. This is such a mess.

Durgan was gathering up the vials when the plan was that we would get out of there.
Then Serena got grappled.
Then I the player forgot that Durgan had gathered up the vials and didn't read back over my recent posts before posting; was just trying to do something useful.
Durgan would not have dropped the vials on the ground. If the GM lets me change that action, then this turn he will carefully put them down and draw his axe.

If not, and he is locked into dropping them, then he'll attack the wardrobe.

Only if morningstars are light piercing or slashing weapons. I put some links to the info above but....

A swallowed creature can try to cut its way free with any light slashing or piercing weapon (the amount of cutting damage required to get free is equal to 1/10 the creature’s total hit points), or it can just try to escape the grapple.... Note too, that currently Serena is still grappled, but the wardrobe is not.

The red stuff square is just a bunch of animate and semi-animate objects from the main room, and bedroom mainly, that got jammed there when they tried to follow the flying snake thing. It counts as difficult terrain, but the items themselves are too small or in the case of one or two have become inert again like the door to the northeast of Illthir. However the door directly in front of her is active.

The animate door slams itself in her face for her temerity (at entering its space so boldly).

Illthir's attack roll is not high enough to hit either the wardrobe or the door. So if you want to play it off as something Illthir meant to do she's fine either way.

Totally awesome, but while being swallowed whole by big horrible monsters, victims are still grappled, and usually taking constant damage from acid (or in this case, possibly Gwen's collection of 16 lb. bowling balls she keeps on the top shelf). So usually that is a couple of reeeeeeally tough concentration checks. And you can only even try that if you don't need your hands to cast the spell, and have any material components in them. Now Serena is at present not taking constant damage (the bowling balls are kept elsewhere in a glass display case), but the air inside the wardrobe is pretty stale.... So first, if this is what she is attempting, Serena needs to have a Still Spell version of burning hands and then she needs to make a concentration check DC 26ish.

PSRD wrote:
Casting Spells while Grappled/Grappling The only spells which can be cast while grappling or pinned are those without somatic components and whose material components (if any) you have in hand. Even so, you must make a concentration check (DC 10 + the grappler’s CMB (the wardrobe's CMB for grapple checks is +15) + the level of the spell you’re casting) or lose the spell.

If at the time Serena was taking constant damage from stomach acid, or falling bowling balls she would need to make a second concentration check with the DC equal to 10 + the damage taken + the level of the spell.

In short, normally you have to break free from the grapple first before casting spells.

The spirits of Illthir's sagas crash upon the door like a wave.

Also, Illthir can't actually be in the same square as the door.

Serena notes as she is jostled about that there is no light at all inside the stale, claustrophobic interior of wardrobe, and that she is having to take increasing deeper and deeper breaths.

The sheets move to entangle Durgan, while of the wardrobe swings about trying to catch him with a sharp corner and then moves back.

The errant bookshelf launches three heavy tomes, as fast as a repeating crossbow, at the dwarf over the bed. They hit the wall behind him cracking plaster, and exploding into bails of loose sheets.

Durgan continues to attack the wardrobe, trying to free Serena.

"A little help in here??"

Illthir sneezes her nosebleed back at the door and the spirits lash out once more. Then she takes a quick step back to hammer that thing down once and for all!

Spirit slap -> 5' step back -> Standard to hammer door

"I'm coming! Here's Illthir!!" the skald shouts between the lines of the war chant.

Spirit Totem!: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (13) + 7 = 20

Hammer!: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (19) + 8 = 27

Also you are free to accept the song which provides a neat +str/con and the free spirit totem slap :)

Will probably take the Rage next round.

Durgan's axe hits at an odd angle damaging the wardrobe's cherrywood finish but not much else.

Illthir's hammer and ghostly phantasms slam into the door.

coin flip: 1d2 ⇒ 2

Aliabot south after the snake. She picks her way through the clutter to the bead curtain and notices that someone outside is fiddling with the front door handles.

Zokonbot slams his back up against the back of the door frame for cover, and sends an arrow through the door at the wardrobe. No rage, because really it doesn't do much for archers. Sorry Illthir. :(

arrow at blue (deadly, precise, point blank): 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (18) + 10 = 28 damage: 1d8 + 9 ⇒ (8) + 9 = 17

Serena passively suffocates inside the wardrobe? That's what I am assuming for now. If you want to retroactively do something this round let me know. Serena can try and grapple herself out into the open. It is a slim chance, granted, but....

I'm going for 'fierce' here people--fierce! | The Trading Post | Tactical Map | Region |

another coin flip: 1d2 ⇒ 1

The white sheet flies at Zokon! Granting Durgan an AoO!

white slam v Zokon: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (14) + 5 = 19 damage: 1d6 + 3 ⇒ (2) + 3 = 5 drag/pull: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (11) + 9 = 20 Hit

The wardrobe continues its slow retreat swinging its corner at Durgan like it was standing on a pivot. While the bookcase launches folio after folio at the determined dwarf, leaving spent covers on the ground around its base.

blue slam v Durgan: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (6) + 9 = 15 damage: 2d6 + 6 ⇒ (5, 6) + 6 = 17 Miss

brown book v Durgan: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (9) + 3 = 12 damage: 1d6 + 6 ⇒ (5) + 6 = 11 Miss

brown book v Durgan: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (18) + 3 = 21 damage: 1d6 + 6 ⇒ (2) + 6 = 8 Miss

Meanwhile, the marred, stair door swings ineffectually back and forth at Illthir, fanning her.

perception: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (8) + 9 = 17

Downstairs, Aliabot notes an unseen breeze moving the beaded curtain on the north side of the showroom like seaweed fronds in a slow-moving current.

The showroom is still lit via multiple dancing lights that bob amid the rafters 10+ feet above the floor. The ceilings in the shop (upstairs and down) are 15' tall.

Durgan slashes at the bedsheet as its launches itself at Zokon.

He mourns the damage to the books. In fact it makes him angry. Angry enough to RAGE!

"Cut it out! That is no way to treat a book!"
But he'll deal with the bookcase next. First, the wardrobe holding Serena. He hopes that in his rage he does not cut her by mistake.

Durgan presses the attack on all sides cutting a big rip in the sheets and chops ferociously at the wardrobe, while visions of phantom northern barbarians--their axes raised, fill his vision.

Meanwhile, Serena attempts to use leverage to escape the wardrobes interior. She squares her back against the doors and presses her feet against he wardrobe's back wall. She pushes, and feels as if she is close, but then flags under the strain. There's one more round of air left, and then Serena will begin to suffocate.

Can I have a slight revision last turn? Before moving through the debris field, knowing she would never catch up with the snake keeping moving, and nobody coming down as reinforcement, Alia would have cast "Expeditious Assault" to double her land movement rate - it's effectively the same to cast it and move 60 feet than double-move the 30 feet. But it would give her enough speed to eventually catch up with the white snake, hopefully.

Expecting the White Snake to make its way around looking for an exit, Alia shouts:"Keep the Door closed! Very dangerous!", then turns around, casting a Frigid Touch Spell, and weaving through the debris again, hoping to cut the snakes path off near the backdoor.

Ready Attack if the Snake comes into Touch Range: Melee Touch: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (8) + 6 = 14
Cold Damage: 4d6 ⇒ (6, 2, 4, 3) = 15+Staggered
otherwise holding the charge.

If no Expeditious Retreat from bot-round, she casts it now and simply follows the snake, moving to the upper left, through the curtain hoping it does not attempt to strangle her.

Expeditious Retreat or Advance is fine.

"B-But it's very dangerous out here as well!" comes Elgeen's quavering voice back through the door.

Illthir curses loudly as the doors seems determined to bar her entrace. By the time she was through there wouldn't be much to do on the other side. Dammit all to hell! With another loud curse she circles back along the outer wall to try and rip those sheets to shreds - maybe Zokon could help Serena then.

While she moves she ditches her hammer and grabs the much more furniture killing shaped longaxe she'd recently acquired. Sure it was a bit fishy - but it'll do!

Zokon's knife goes through the sheet like a knife through a sheet, but the tattered thing continues to flap about. However the archer provides cover from Illthir's attempted attack, causing her to miss.

Downstairs, Alia reaches the corner but doesn't see the flying serpent.

The sheets entwine themselves around Zokon!

The wardrobe and bookshelf continue their unproductive assault on the ever advancing cleric. It is like a reenactment of a gaudy Opparan stage production of a play called The Heroic Taldan vs. the Evil Foreigners Who Can't Shoot Their Bows Straight.
