With the heart of the Stolen Lands explored and the bandits who ruled there scattered, the long-contested realm finally lies open for pioneers and settlers to stake their claims.:
Amid the rush of opportunistic travelers, the PCs find themselves stewards over a new domain, tasked with the responsibility of guiding and guarding a fledgling nation struggling to grow upon a treacherous borderland. Yet the threats to this new nation quickly prove themselves greater than mere bandits and wild beasts, as the monstrous natives of the hills and forests rampage forth to slaughter all who have trespassed upon their territory. Can the PCs hold the land they’ve fought so hard to explore and tame? Or will their legend be just one more lost to the fangs of the Stolen Lands?

Stairs are always difficult terrain, unless otherwise noted. The bottom 7 feet of these are missing--necessitating either jumping off or climbing down (i.e. getting down on hands and knees and hanging off the edge) let's call it 8 squares of steps if you do the latter, and 4 and a jump if you do the former.

You did. The cage itself isn't easy to move, especially with 200 lbs (~91 kg) of rust monster in it. It's built like a litter with places for 10-foot pools to be slid in along its sides. With a cursory look, Zokon finds the poles in the back room (they haven't slithered away). All told the whole thing (monster, and poles included) probably weighs about 350 lbs (~159 kg).

Looking outside the front doors one can determine a few things. One, the crowd (nearly to a man) is gone. Two, Erevenywg is holding a red newt. And three there is a large cart with a hulking driver wearing a long, dark cloak, thick leather gauntlets, a burgandy scarf over his mouth, and tinted goggles.

"Zokon looks at the scrounging efforts, umm.. isn't all this stuff the shop owners and we should probably not contaminate it."
then looking at the box "The box is a four person effort I think, with how much it weighs."

He gets to it though and tries to lift it

"Aight." she nods at Zokon and waves at Dool. The skald nods at the cart. "Your transport? We'll load up the Rust Monster shortly."

Assuming it is indeed his hulking goon Illthir will help Zokon - and requisition the aid of two others if needed - and drag the box out to the cart. "Ah-pfff I *grunt* need the right leverage! Blasted thing why can't rust monsters eat something lighter!"

"Oh nice Newt you found there Erevenywg. Where did you get that?" The skald notes that the crowd is totally gone and throw a suspicious glance at Dool and the newt. Oh well. *Surely* it was deserved if that was actually what happened.

M Dwarf

"Four people?"
Durgan looks rather uncomfortable at this request. But at least the poles should keep him well clear of the Rust Monster in the crate.

He takes up a position on one end of a pole and helps lift the crate.

The hulking faceless goon brings the cart around to the back where the storeroom is easier to access. He hops off with a nimbleness not usually seen in someone taller than Erevenywg (who is very close to 2 meter tall) and likely weighs three times as much. He grabs the other end of Durgan's pole as easily as any of the companions, causing a bit of awkwardness as the weight suddenly shifts to the dwarf's corner.

The rust monster slides ominously closer to the lowest corner.

Another huge, swaddled flunky throws back the flap of the covered cart. The surprising stealthy grunt helps drag the wooden cage inside then shuts the flap again.

Durgan's Perception: 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (4) + 12 = 16

Durgan's dwarf-sense tingles, but he can't quite put his finger on why.

Alak Dool, and the driver mount up without a word and are away. There may have been a baleful glance, or two--but certainly no words.

"It's Mr. Ibbelbbek!" Erevenywg cries. "The wizard turned him into this!"
