Numalar squishes to the side and then to the front of the cart as Zokon moves back to engage the kobold.

Numalar points his symbol at the kobold, and for a moment it glows with golden light.

Casting daze on the kobold. Will DC 15 or dazed for one round; he is immune if he is over 4 HD (man, I hope not).

Stabbing the kobold through the back of his clawed hand gets the wee bugger to finally drop off.

I should also note that there is enough slack in their harpoon line to disengage it with a standard action if you want to cut the warcart loose, with out someone driving it it will eventually slow down.

Not seeing any reason to slow down(Hellish forges or no, there seemed to be no problems or obstacles on the track), Alia maintains her tactic of racing forward by minimizing drag and friction.
After all, the laws of conservation of motion meant that if there was, for example, a sudden turn, it would be Tartuks problem if he slowed down and she didn't...slamming into the back of his cart would cause HIM to be derailed, not her...if she remembered right.

Well one possible option would be using this round's drive check to deflect the offending pedestrian, or pop a side-wheely, but I am willing entertain to other semi-plausible options for avoiding certain disaster.

Hmm. I would be all for other evasive actions, but it feels wrong if I can just wish away Illthir's poor roll and do something else...

One random thought - Illthir has Grease so what if she cast that just as the kobold hit turning it from an dangerous obstacle into a nice large chunk of lube to feed into our rolling death machine?

I mean it might not really work if you think about it too hard but it feels like it could fit with the spirit we are going for here^^

Though I'm a bit vary of the consequences of doing this once we eventually need to stop thing thing but eh that sounds like a problem for future-Illthir doesn't it :P!

So I blew up my post some how. The big takeaway beyond what follows is that one of Tartuk's drivers got a 25 on their drive check to pull to 60' away from Alia and Illithir's cart.

Grease it is! Illithir magically greases the cart's wheels just as the unfortunate kobold hits. The cart's weight in conjunction with the grease shoots the unfortunate creature's body away from the mine cart like a wet bar of soap across the bottom of a porcelain wash basin.

Alia and Illithir's cart rolls into a vast lava-filled cavern. Ahead the tracks run up to the base of a perilous-looking stone bridge that spans a river of lava. Near the center of the bridge stands a tall, black stone gate house connected to an impressive fortress built into the cavern's opposite wall. Tiny figures can be seen manning the gatehouse and fortress walls.

Alia and Illithir can make the the card challenge checks this round everyone else (except Scarlet) can make them next turn when they arrive. Scarlet, well....

Numalar releases the warcart, but being steam powered it hangs with them a bit.

Numalar gets Zokon's wounds bandaged up as they come out of the bat tunnel. Racing along with several other parallel tracks they note a sharp rise in air temperature and the glowing orange light in the tunnel far ahead.

Celyne has passed the last challenge before the end, so there isn't much to do in the back seat except aid Mikmek (or Luna/Toonses if she's driving) in going that little bit faster. or doing something else (shifting equipment around, casting spells-difficult in the rocketing cart, etc...) before she gets to the area with the hellish heat ahead.

He doesn't believe in 'game balance'. Gandalf always lets him pass. As a feat, he has Exotic Weapon Proficiency (beard). The city guard often question him, just because they find him so interesting. His dice bag is woven from tarrasque leather. His TPKs end game lines. His blood cures moderate wounds. He once punched a flumph. Yes, you heard me. He belongs to a prestige class whose sole requirement for entry is just being him. ♬ He is indeed, the most interesting GM in the world. ♬

Celyne, Numalar, Zokon and their allies race to a sudden stop ahead in a cavern filled with lava! Last challenge card. See slide 3 for the feel of the cavern ahead. Slide 1

Alia, Illithir and Nakpik have come to the end of their line before the great stone bridge. Tartuk rushes ahead heedless of the lava river far beneath him while his allies attempt a desperate rear guard action at the base of the bridge, hissing out a warning to any who approach.

I am going to assume that Alia, Illithir, and Nakpik (with some prodding) disembarked from their cart at the end of last round. You guy are all on slide 2, once it is ready.

Her sword bursts into flames briefly as she strikes the cube. "I ain't in the mood, jelly!"

I actually don't know if the Elemental Strike crits or not. It doesn't say it doesn't? I'll let the GM decide.

Aak! I completely forgot the cube's action--we'll just say it was stunned for a moment. Scarlet is not currently in her cart so she isn't squeezed. The cart crashed and Scarlet tumbled out.

BAH! I do not need to figure out your strange rules set! The regular old damage before I need to even consider it is enough.

Numalar, Zokon reflex save DC 15 for half damage. Regardless you are both knocked out of the cart and prone.
