Good lord, I go away to Historicon and this whole thread devolves into CE leather toilet seat spider erotica...
Damn it, man! Now that you've given it a name, someone is already writing it!
Don't name the Evil!

If Aurora is flying, can she even be tripped?
An interesting question, and one I've grappled with before (pun intended). I'd say it isn't so much a literal 'trip' as a 'pulled off balance'. She can stay aloft (she still has to flap her wings), but struggles to keep enough balance to cast a spell.
Even with the Fly spell, you can be knocked off kilter enough to have the same effect as a trip.
It doesn't come up often because many of the things that have the Trip ability can't fly.

Hopefully everyone feels this combat is going - relatively - smoothly. As Tomaru stated, it can be difficult at higher levels. I am doing the best I can to use the map to help with this, along with the text descriptions.
Any information you can provide in your posts can only help. Being heavy on monster summons doesn't help the situation. It's great fun, but adds complexity. We shall overcome!
Has anyone given thought that this combat has only lasted 30 seconds! Given the budget, this would be an epic movie scene!

+1 breastplate
fanged falchion
+1 cold iron returning dagger
headband of inspired wisdom +2
750 gp in diamond dust
With the group's permission, I'll add the diamond dust to Tomaru's gear list. The better to raise you with later.
And maybe the breastplate for Rexil. If he's going to be around, he should be properly equipped to stand between Tomaru and the bad guys.

Rexil |

I'm not sure if he's proficient with armour at the moment. There's no mention in the bestiary entry about armour, so that usually means non-proficient.

Speaking of classic stuff...
I recently suffered from a severe bout of nostalgia, and discovered that one can play the first four games of the Quest for Glory series online through various means. It gave me a probably crazy idea.
I'd love to run Quest for Glory 1 as a Pathfinder game, as in, run the game. I believe that most of the elements could transfer well and I have a few ideas on alternate side quests. Character creation would be quite limited to keep in line with the game and it would probably be a solo game (to avoid players just waiting while one player completes a class-specific side quest).
Would anybody be interested in trying something like this out?

Lym Blackhand |

YESYESYESYESYESYESYESMEMEMEMEMEMEEEEEE~!!!!!
*cough*
Me. Most definitely. It'd be great if we could make it a group game, though. ^^; Bit of a dream come true, eh heh.

Lym Blackhand |

That's where other sidequests come in. ;)
There were story hooks in Spielburg that could have been explored further, imho.

Nazard |

Absolutely. Like I said, I have a few ideas about extra side quests. It would seem a bit odd to have everybody engage in a different side quest at the same time though.
If I did do something like this, should some of the really silly stuff be replaced with more authentic fantasy fare, or keep everything? I'm mostly thinking of things like the antwerp, manta rays and Germanic dinosaurs.

Lym Blackhand |

Keep as much as possible! ^__^ The silliness is an intrinsic part of the game's charm. <3

Nazard |

Perhaps. I never actually played number 5 all the way through. My copy of it had a glitch that it always froze when I tried to get into the underworld. As such, I don't really know it very well.
The first four, however, are burned into my memory.
But like I said above, let's move this to the proper discussion thread. Anybody else interested is welcome to join us there.

Lym Blackhand |

Okay, spell list! I'll use my lower-level slots to take care of opening the stones or whatever else will get us those keys. ;)
7 - Maximized Iceball*, Summon monster VII
6 - Greater dispel magic, Maximized Fireball*, Summon monster VI
5 - Dismissal, Maximized Scorching ray*, Passwall, Summon monster V, Teleport
4 - Greater invisibility, Iceball*, Maximized magic missile* x 2, Overland flight, Summon monster IV
3 - Fireball*, Fly, Haste, Invisibility sphere, Lightning bolt*, Tiny hut
2 - Gust of wind*, Knock, Locate object, Minor image, Protection from arrows, Web
1 - Alarm, Burning hands, Charm person, Grease, Ray of enfeeblement
0 - Dancing lights, Detect magic, Mage hand, Message
Hope I've got all our bases covered with this selection.... And yes, I felt like exercizing my feats again. ;)
The spells in italics are designated to use on the stones. As you can see, this has really cut into my complement of personal defensive spells and magic missiles....

Wow, Thordak comes with his own censorship! Is that a Feat?
LOL!
Well, you know there are ladies present and Thordak cares about the ladies. And you never know when a kid may just walk up in the middle of a dragon fight in the mountains by themselves. Crazy kids. You just never know what the heck they're gonna do. So you've got to be careful or it just gets all embarrassing. ;)
And it actually is a dwarven alt race trait.
Thordak's dad: "What did ya say, boy?!?! I'll beat the tar out of ye for that! 'Cause I blast well know ya don't kiss yer mother with that mouth! Or she would've told me!"
Really young Thordak: "No! Wait! What I meant was...!" *Never finishes as he proceeds to get whupped*
Alt race trait: Clean it up!
You can replace bad language with <bleeps> and/or &%$#@ and not get whupped. This replaces nothing. But it does prevent you from taking damage by getting whupped by your parents AND possibly proper ladies, random mothers, clergy, etc. :)

Lym Blackhand |

Don't worry, Thordak. If we can't catch up to Slim Scaly, I'll summon something nasty and teleport in front of Moby Dragon so we can sandwich it and beat it into submission.

Aurora Ulfurdottir |

Sorry to hear that OGGM, hope you're ok.

Lym Blackhand |

This .... this is GOLD! :D
I am going to share this story with future adventuring colleagues.

Lym Blackhand |

Well, I'll be contributing maximized magic missiles to keep the big lizard off-balance.

The holy sites of the Desnans are not written down or mapped. Rather, they are places that are remote or hard to reach-mountaintops, islands, forgotten buildings in the hearts of jungles—and marked by a Founder, a Desnan who traveled there and left a “found-mark,” a symbol of Desna intertwined with a personal signature mark. Discovering such a mark is considered a badge of honor among your faith, but placing an original found-
mark in such a place considerably elevates your standing.
I wonder if this counts.

Javell DeLeon |

Oh yeah, Thordak is at the mercy of the courts on this one.
Pretty exciting stuff. I can't wait to see what happens next! Feels like a movie scene. :)
And man I am feeling terrible for Aurora. My gosh she just CANNOT get past that stupid SR. Soooooooo annoying. The term that keeps popping in my mind is a Charlie Brown saying: "UGH!"

Lym Blackhand |

Javell DeLeon |

OH MY GOSH THAT WAS SO FREAKING AWESOME!!! 200'?!?! Oh man that dragon was a freaking missile! At that rate of speed, I would expect a mushroom cloud to form as soon as he hit Thordak. That would've been some great epicness. So dang awesome.
The wall bursts into a deadly shower of stone shards as the dragon smashes through it.
[dice=damage to any dwarfs who may happen to be flying right about there]
LOL! Oh man I just died on this. I mean, seriously, what are the odds a dwarf would just so happen to be in the air at that appointed time?! I mean, C'MON! :)
And then you bust out with three 6's on a 3d6 roll! Are you kiddin' me? Crazy.
Oh man that's just greatness all around, OG.
