The threat to Varisia, in the form of an army of giants led by a stone giant wizard named Mokmurian, is over. Our heroes slew the evil giant in his lair in the fortress of Jorgenfist. But a greater threat now looms...

Guys, I'm crazy busy this week. Still with you, just give me a chance to catch up.

Hey, man, no worries. I know what you mean. Work has been beating the dog out of me so take your time. :P

My search also highlighted that
* Lym is the last of the original characters. She has always been scary.
* She and I (with a now deceased character) are both original players. The game has been going since Dec 2009.
* Praxim has a long history of being a jerk.
* There have been 2 gms (big props to OGGM for saving the game), 10 players, and 11 characters.
Wow. That is some turnover right there. I actually made it through book 1 in another pbp before the game finally died. So I do remember a pretty good deal about book 1. The fact that it took 3 years to get through probably gives a pretty good hint as to why it died. :P
2009. Man that is freaking cool. That is a long time. That was actually when I first started on these boards. Man o man where does the time go.

Praxim is actually the second PBP character I ever made, edged out by another by only a few weeks, and while that character's game died out at 2nd level, this one just keeps going.
So, yes, a long history of being a jerk.

Praxim wrote: So, yes, a long history of being a jerk. Yeah but word is he's mellowed out... some. (HA! Good one by the way.) :)
Interestingly enough, the avatar you use for Praxim was the avatar I used for my first PBP character.
Wow I didn't realise the game had such an interesting history! That's pretty amazing to have been going since '09 :O
Kudos to all of you for your parts in continuing to wave the story :)
As long as you are interested and having fun, the game will continue. If I have anything to say about it, that is. We are close (that's relative in pbp terms) to finishing. I'd like to see this to the end now we are in Book 5.
Let's keep driving it!
Aurora, did you note the Scroll of Plane Shift I gave to you? That way you have a way to Castle Lym if you need it.

Aurora, how long do those spell tattooes you gave us last? I had completely forgotten about the dim door tattoo she gave Praxim before being separated by a wall of force and nearly turned into jelly.

Dax: I've recorded that on my sheet so thank you :)
Praxim: They would technically last until used, or else until Aurora uses the ability to apply them again. I'd view it as a flexible power up we can use before tough fights where we know a bit about what we'll be facing, and as such Aurora would keep the uses free each day. Long story short, the tattoos would have faded by now :p

Just so everyone knows, this is my spell selection for today:
7 - Ki shout*, Summon monster VII
6 - Chain lightning, Greater dispel magic, Summon monster VI
5 - Dismissal, Passwall, Summon monster V, Teleport, Wall of force*
4 - Black tentacles, Greater invisibility, Iceball*, Overland flight, Summon monster IV, Wall of ice*
3 - Daylight*, Fireball*, Fly, Lightning bolt*, Protection from energy, Summon monster III
2 - Communal mount, Knock, Scorching ray* x 2, See invisibility, Web
1 - Burning hands*, Hold portal, Mage armour, Magic missile* x 2, Shield, Summon minor monster
0 - Acid splash, Dancing lights, Detect magic, Detect poison
Some blasting, some summoning, and some nifty utility. I hope I've got our bases covered. ^^;

Hi all, sorry for prolonged absence, boards have been inaccessible or flaky for me for days now...
Update shortly!
Male Humanly Awesome 'n Totally Rockin' Paladin of Greatness
I know, right?! Me too. Couldn't access squat over the past couple days. I was wondering if it was just me.
Boards have been the same for me. Now that they seem to be working...I am heading down to Columbus OH, for Origins. I will be out until Sunday.
Male Humanly Awesome 'n Totally Rockin' Paladin of Greatness
Be safe, bud. Don't have too much fun. ;)
I plan on being there Saturday and Sunday myself.
Male Humanly Awesome 'n Totally Rockin' Paladin of Greatness
That's pretty cool. Way too far for me. Plus, I don't even know what that is. :P
I will go with the obvious and guess it's some type of gaming convention.
It is. Before GenCon came to Indiana, Origins was the largest con in the area.
Dax Thura wrote: It is. Before GenCon came to Indiana, Origins was the largest con in the area. Damn it! My phone went all weird with the Paizo site and I totally missed you were going to be there! Anyway, yes...Origins was THE game convention to go to before GenCon got huge. Then for years it was the little brother to GC. Things are swinging back the other way, however. I spoke to many people who were GC 'refugees'. People who were sick of the room problems, the crowd, the inability to get into events, etc.
Yeah, GenCon is just to big for me to enjoy (that's what she said). Origins is still fun, though I didn't make it after all this year. Family responsibilities.
While this interaction with the Scribbler may seem superfluous, he has information that sets up what you are going to do for this book.

Rot: Fort. DC 23 or 2 Con. damage.
Penetrating strike: bebilith natural weapons count as magical, chaotic, cold iron and good vs. demons.
Dismantle armour: If a bebilith hits a foe with both claw attacks, it can attempt to peel away the target’s armor and shield as a free action by making a CMB check. If the bebilith is successful, the target’s armor and shield are torn from his body and dismantled, falling to the ground. Armor subjected to this attack loses half its hit points and gains the broken condition if the target fails a DC 25 Reflex save. The save DC is Strength-based. Is this applicable to natural armour?
You have GOT to be kidding me. A Bebilith?! Man that is just freaking crazy. Note to self: Be cool - and I mean really cool - to Lym. That's the last thing poor Thordak needs to be waking up to. :P

Desperate times, man. ^^;
I'm not overjoyed to be conjuring a CE outsider, but its blurb specifically states it isn't a demon itself. It is, however, a predator evolved to hunt and eat demons, so it seemed a good fit for our current opponent.
So long as Thordak doesn't turn into an evil demon bent on our corruption and/or destruction, he should be safe from waking up to find a bebilith spooning with him. XD

I didn't either, but I read up on the options offered by my new Summon Monster VII spell when trying to devise a strategy for the glabrezu, and the bebilith stood out. ^_^ With all eight legs....

Oh, slight correction - the bebilith is born to hunt and slay demons. It doesn't actually need to eat them. It just enjoys doing so. So, in essence, it's an Abyssal foodie. :p

Fortunately, Praxim has no idea that summoning that creature is technically an evil act since the spell had the evil descriptor.

It's a slippery slope of morality. First, you summon demon-slaying monsters, next, leather corsets. What's next...leaving the toilet seat up?

Lol!
Eyes going wide in panic at the horrible, horrible talk of leather clothing - especially the leather clothing - being spooned by bebiliths, blackguards, and something called a "toilet seat", Thordak slowly creeps away before turning and running for his life screaming.
