The cannibal continues to avoid all of Sasha's attacks. "Die, would you!" she yells in exasperation.
.....
"Die, dragon!" Pezock yells as the swipes at the lizard. He cuts open another wound, but the beast still does not fall.
Now, see, obviously the NPCs need lessons in motivational speaking from Lorenz.
Can we buy a wand that looks like a barrel?
Hee. Hallmark has an e-card with a guy in a birthday hat opening up a barrel and monkeys pouring out and leaping all over him and flinging poo as his expression goes from excitement to dismay. The caption is, "Hope your bithday is more fun than a barrel of ... well, you know." That's what I thought of immediately when I read that spell.

There were a total of 4 cure light wounds potions found and 1 cure moderate. Urza just used the cure moderate. I'm seeing one cure light listed in Lorenz's gear, 1 in Makoa's, and 3 in Urza's. Which doesn't quite add up, since I'm also fairly certain 1 cure light got used at an earlier point (though I could be wrong there). Hmmm...

Hah! Talk about coinciding timing! I just mailed you about that!
Yes, Verik is one of the most talented pbp players I've had the pleasure to play with. We have no idea what has happened to him - he's been off the Paizo radar for more than a month now.
I do encourage you to apply, preferably to both games. I've just posted in the application thread, but lemme copy it to here:
Let me reiterate that it is a tremendous pleasure to play in DM Barcas' games and it is anything but a combat fest. Posts are awarded individual XP and have accounted for about 50% of the total XP earned so far. Yes, this means that you can have more or less XP than other players based on how well and often you post. And yes it means that we've played with one character at level 3 where the rest were still at level 2 for quite a while.
Good fun, do give it a shot :)

I've got a stupid question that is not really relevant to anything. What year is it in Golarion, generally speaking? Most of my gaming experience over the last 20 years has been in homebrew campaigns and campaign worlds and we always used to make our own calendars and systems for the years in which gameplay occurs. So I'm used to knowing when it is but so far I haven't figured out Golarion's calendar.
I know I've seen it somewhere on the messageboards or in a pdf or something but I'll damned if I can find where. Anyone know what the current year for Golarion related products would be?

The current year of our campaign is 4710. The current year in the newest products released is 4711. The last two digits of the year correspond with the last two digits of the real-world year. Basically just add 2700 to the real year to get the Golarion year.
The Inner Sea World Guide even revised the calendar so that the number of days in each month are identical to the real-world calendar, so that everything lines up exactly. Well...almost. Leap years only happen every eight years on Golarion, so in a few years time, the calendars won't line up perfectly anymore.

Stealth check for when the door opens and she is concealed behind it 1d20+12 Hopefully, even if the cannibals see her behind it, they'll have to use another move action to "open" the door from in front of her to get to her.
Just to clarify, I don't expect Douena's hiding place to last long: no matter how good her Stealth roll, once the door isn't in front of her anymore, she'll be seen. But I'm hoping they'll open the door (move action) and take a moment to look through the room, maybe check under the bed, before they think to look behind the door (i.e., buy her a round).

As soon as the last cannibal drops, Lorenz turns on his heel and runs off down the path, moving as quickly as he can to reach Sasha and Douena, praying to Cayden that it isn't too late.
Hm. I notice a glaring omission in Lorenz's priorities there. Where's the concern for Pezock? ;)
Sorry for the delay. I've been wracking my brain for the last hour trying to figure out what Douena can do that's not likely to get her killed....

hehehe - that village doesn't know about the lesson; they split their forces and are now nearly annihilated!
Joana: Once Douena is discovered she can go into Total Defense (+6 AC if you have 3 ranks in acrobatics) and then tumble out of the hut. If she can get herself a bit of distance/cover she can stealth again.

We'll see how it turns out. Even with a good addition, it is going to be tough to live up to Verik's posts. Verik and Douena are my high-water marks for great roleplaying posts.
I can't imagine he has anything against rogues - though stranger things do happen. He might have reacted allergically to the sexual abuse thing (even if it is just a background element).
There will be more games in the future! I'm heavily looking forward to Jade Regent - and its associated supporting material. Japan-love. Guilty. :)

Honestly, yeah, I felt like I brushed up against a sore subject there without meaning to, the way he reacted to those 2 words out of the whole write-up. *shrug* It's his game, and everyone has their secret Don't-Like buttons. Really, I've never applied to a Kingmaker game because the whole set-up seems a bit low-fantasy/gritty compared to the kind of game I enjoy; I just thought it would be fun to be in another game with LoreKeeper and Sigz.
I'm not a huge fan of choosing players based on backstory anyway. I've seen some characters with fantastic, incredibly-detailed background write-ups who, when they came to actually posting in the game, never said anything but "Octavius Renfro IV moves up and attacks!" Some people are better writers than they are roleplayers. Douena didn't even have a backstory when I started playing her, and she's tons of fun!
I don't know Nightflier at all, but DanE DMs a very enjoyable game; he ought to be a good addition.

So, Navior, here's a question: I remember you saying you didn't think part 2 of this AP was as strong as Smuggler's Shiv when you got that volume in, and while I'm avoiding spoilers, in general AP talk, I've heard complaints about the later modules of this adventure in general. Assuming you've read it all now, what is your opinion of it as a whole?

On my first skim-through of number 3, I actually thought it was an improvement on number 2. However, that was not a thorough reading, and going back to it later, I have to concur with the general opinion of people on the boards that it's the low-point of the AP. That said, I think with work from the DM, it can still be a good adventure, and I would certainly be interested in collaborating on a fix, AK.
On the whole, I think the strongest adventure, as written, is part one. However, that's not to say there's nothing good in the rest of the path. I'm quite looking forward to most of what's to come. And even the weaker parts, I'm looking forward to fixing up and still making them lots of fun.

Sorry I didn't get in to post yesterday. I spent the day DMing off-line and almost wiping out my player's PCs.
As a heads up: I'm going to be away for Memorial Weekend. This Friday and the following Tuesday I will be traveling with no chance of getting online to post and Saturday thru Monday I'm going to be marathon gaming with one of my old (and all-time favorite) off-line groups. So I'm not going to be able to participate all that well from Friday - Tuesday.

Makoa's not going to turn into another strong, silent type like Aakif, is he? :(
I will do my best to avoid this. I like this group to much to just drop it because my posting time is going to change.
The possible result of Reincarnation if cast on Makoa.
Just thought that was funny.

Wander Weir, what are you DMing offline: a published adventure or homebrew?
Yesterday I ran a homebrew. This weekend a bunch of us are alternating DMing; I'll get the chance to play in some pathfinder and a D20 Modern/ Mutants & Masterminds mix-up and also run a Call of Cthulhu homebrew.
I'm seriously thinking about running either Curse of the Crimson Throne or Rise of the Runelords since my homebrew has so far been too much for my local group who are all fairly new to gaming. I've been playing for far too long and keep expecting my new guys to handle complicated situations as well as my older long distance group.
Sadly, the "new guys" have been playing for ten years and are in their early twenties, so this just means that I'm feeling my age.
