Most of everything here has been hostile - I'm having a hard time believing anything nice lives here - so that might just be what we should do.

Though it might be fun to add some nice sound related spell to the mix just to screw with their echolocation too :P


Basically, I'm just waiting on a plan now yes. There are a few ways out of this, fighting is definitely one of them.

I'm stuck here. Short of trying to blow the whole area I don't know what to do.
The darkness can't be dispelled.
Darksight doesn't work on it.
I think Al will keep trying to make peace.

The darkness could surely be dispelled? Its mythicness only prevents other magic from making light, not dispelling it. Even if it did (which would actually seem quite reasonable) a standard Dispel Magic would probably still work. And then you get to have an magical roll-off versus the literal forces of darkness :P

But anyhow! Nethan has figured out one wall is not like the other and given us a direction. And surely the darkness can't cover everything right : )?


I think that dispel magic will still work here, mythic dispel just let's you dispel more than one effect. It doesn't need to be mythic to get rid of a mythic spell. The DC might be higher than normal due to Resilient effect (if mythic points were spent.).

Walls are hard with only 3rd level spells.
These things see through a lot of illusions, and ignored the last one.
Depending on the exact diameter of where we're going it might be possible to use web... not perfect, but might buy us some time.

If we find a smaller opening we could just yell "hey follow us and we'll clobber you good!"

Though it might be easy to call our bluff ...

Maybe auditory illusions? There are a few I think - that might work. Or just Horn of Pursuit or Clarion Call or something and count on their sensitive ears not wanting to deal with noise of that magnitude :P

I'm a bit worried whatever did mythic darkness is going to do it again...
I think Web can do a 20' radius. That's pretty god. if we can find a decent tunnel it should probably be good enough. Or we just bring the ceiling down behind us?

I was thinking the same thing. I will use my Arcane Bond spell so not to waste my memorized or mythic points. Maybe double up the webbing making harder for them to get out.

Al has Wild Arcana and can cast anything on his class spell list, even if he doesn't have the spell!


The part of the wall that is fake is 10 feet wide. So I think web can span across it? It would take a use of Al's arcana but you could likely block them.

I'd like to talk her round, but at the same time I know everyone is getting bored.
I'm tempted to make a diplomacy roll, and use foresight, a mythic surge, and possibly even the deck of fate to see if I can bring her around... but that feels like a bit of a strange end to this part of the story.
I was an inch a way from buying Mythic Charisma. Sorta wish I'd done it now...

Feel free to keep talking. I sort of see this moment as an epic scene between you and Epnui, so it's appropriate.

Also, those Mythic stat powers are a lot of fun!


Got waylaid by bed due to sickness, so forgot to post. Though now that Al brings it up I have an idea to kill two birds with one stone if you guys like the idea.

As you have an inkling of now, Epnui is a powerful magic user that spent some time learning how to create worlds. So what I can do is have Epnui send the humans (i.e. the rest of the group) to fight in a pocket dimenion as Epnui / Al look at the fight through a Palantir effectively (Saruman/Gandalf style). As they continue a battle of wits and convincing each other to take their side.

Actions in how the group fights can be shown as human valour that kind of thing as well. Al can do things like show examples of each of the characters strong points as humans from different nations.

Does that sound cool?

doesnt bother me at all. one of my games ended when my pacifist Vitalist (psionic healer) dropped the final boss by empathically turning a 160hp finger of death back on it. would have dropped me to -30 and left the party in even worse shape than we were in. an odd way to end things, but it worked amazingly.

I am in NC and so far we have been lucky. We will receive outer band stuff tonight or shed off but nothing too serious. Hopefully, Jose does not assault Florida next after being plowed by Irma.
