Yeah. Interesting being attached to two scholars as opposed to Warriors. But it all works out.
Dreyyn
Gotta walk into work. No time for a story post. Dreyyn is rather silent at the moment, after work I will post.
Calathar the Golden
Regarding Alþórel's spelling. "þ" is the letter THORN from Old English (and still alive in modern Icelandic). It represents the sound "th". Thus, you might best translate it as "Althorel". Although historically, printers used the then-little-used letter "y". Hence "Ye Olde Pub". So maybe he's "Alyorel". Either way, it's pronounced with a "th"
Yep, I think that the Alþórel/Calathar relationship would have matured over the decades, but both would still see each other as student and counselor, regardless.
I'm thinking one recommended the other for this expedition, each knowing they'd need a strong warrior at their side. I don't care which one it was. What do you think?
As for their own direct relationship, I think Calthar would respect Nethen for his brains, plus the fact that Nethen is in really good physical shape, something Calathar doesn't normally see in the brainy types. He probably cluelessly encourages Nethen to spend more time with women. "You need a girlfriend, Nethen! Go have some fun!"
Hopefully, that won't make Nethen loathe the good-natured lug. But I picture much annoyed eye-rolling.
So the question remains: how do they know each other? I imagine that Calathar frequently needs to know how to deal with various monsters. When Alþórel wasn't around, he'd have had to go seeking someone with smarts, and that would be Nethen. So perhaps Calathar's eternal wanderlust and adventure-seeking caused him to cajole Nethen into coming on some of his adventures, to advise on the killing of some tricky foe or another, and that's how Calathar learned that Nethen was quite physically capable in his own right?
Also as the sons of two divine beings, I imagine that the two would have an unspoken bond, even if they make a true odd couple. That sort of burden/entitlement is probably not something easily understood by an outsider.

Especially if you are a behind the front line leader, you'll be with us.

Thanks for clarifying the name.
With regard to the backstory, maybe after I was saved from the dragon by Elise and Jeremiah, I, being near death, was brought to the nearest village, where you happened to be, and you were the one who healed me. From there, you learned that Elise, Jeremiah and I were heading to the Isle of Terror, and ended up joining our group. That sound good?
Amelia Lightfoot
As for Calathar, I think we're in agreement. A passionate fling that ended when things got serious. Instant tension now that we're working together again. Amelia enjoys the wilderness more than she does public places. She also finds battle to be thrilling, but is ashamed that she so easily enjoys causing death and destruction. Calathar knows all about this from their past history.
Regarding Jeremiah, Amelia is often heard complaining that there is no skill in using these curious firearms from Alkenstar. In truth, she's a little envious of Jeremiah's obvious talent at attacking at range, and she enjoys opportunities to show that her own weapon of choice is still better in some ways.
Amelia may indeed become friends with Elise simply because they're the only women.
@Jeremiah - looking far, far ahead, how would you feel about both of us taking the Target of Opportunity feat?
Nethan Ryon Akerman
Jeremiah Flynt
Later on, though, Jeremiah would certainly be willing to tease her a bit about her pride in her choice of weapon.
As for association, I would say we likely met rather recently.
Elise of the Red Hill
We'll just have to wait and see what Flynt have an ego about then ... ^^
Alþórel
Here is a quick idea that works fine if Dreyyn and Alþórel are travelling together. Lets say for instance that that our "mini-party" were heading to the island and heard the rumours that somekind of wise wanderer just happened to be in town at the same time as they are. Naturally, not wanting to pass by such a chance Elise would insist that they seek him out. When they find him he is travelling in company with Dreyyn and they all realize that they are heading towards the same place and decides that they might aswell group up.
I'm fine with this, but it does mean we don't have as close a relationship as we might.
Given there is no magical travel is it possible that we travelled for some distance? Maybe fought some things? A chance to develop comradeship over time... I would like to make the relationship a bit stronger if possible.I think it is pronounced Al-Thou-Rel

I have begun writing an account of how we met (from Tsadok's perspective) and I have added it to my profile page. If there is anything in there that is incorrect or misrepresents any of your characters, please feel free to tell me and I will change it. So far, I have his meeting of Elise, Jeremiah, Calathar, Alþórel, and Dreyyn, and it can easily lead to meeting Nethan and Amelia.
Edit: forgot to mention, it's at the very bottom of the page.
2nd edit: also forgot to mention, the last section, with Alþórel and Dreyyn, is more of a suggestion at this point, as we haven't discussed it much.

Yeah I was picturing Alborel as a wise uncle type of character. And I am happy with us having had a longer trip with some danger.

@GM Radiance the Arcana roll was for the Behemoth and other things Sienna was talking about but obviously they were technical or engineering in nature. How well known is the Technic League and would any of us know about them? But since you didn't give us a knowledge roll against I am guessing no ... lol ...? As a player, I personally did not know about the Technic League. Learn something new every day!
GM_Radiance
I'm more the type of GM that will let you roll for knowledge checks you think apply to the situation. The knowledge check will almost always get you something but from that perspective. For example a dungeoneering check of a monster might tell you the dangers of that monster, wheras a nature check might get you how a monster acts or tends to fight, arcana might be a magical notation of a creature etc.
The arcana roll against the behemoth would yield in this example.
There are many creatures that fit the description in textbooks, such as a Hodag, Brethedan or some daemonic creature. It is hard to tell from just what she says though it likely carries armour or has some mechanical structuring. Without getting a sketch or seeing it for yourself might be difficult to pin down.
Nethan Ryon Akerman
Thank you for the explanation and my response in gameplay still works for the Knowledge Arcana roll I made and the response above.
Calathar the Golden
Taking this back to Discussion. Nethan, I saw your note. What sort of response are you looking for? Calathar knows Nethan is tough and can handle himself in a fight. As I said above, that's one of the reasons why Calathar respects him. I think we've said all that needs saying, but if you think there's more, just let me know what it its.
Nethan Ryon Akerman
Ok, sounds good to me.

Sorry been busy with lots of things, will be for about a week more but I will regularly post in the gamemplay thread. I will after the 10th of December post a relationship chart for the characters in the game on how they link to each other, should look good. As well as updating the M6 document for bloodragers and psionics.

Ok, sounds good to me. Also, although it is quite lengthy, I did write up how Tsadok met the others (at least the ones he knew before arriving at the Isle). I'm not 100% sure if the section on meeting Dreynn and Alþorel is correct, as we didn't discuss it all that much, but all in all it may help with your chart, so I figure I should tell you about it. It is at the bottom of my profile page.
Elise of the Red Hill
Epic feats for Bloodragers wouldn't be that hard - just let us qualify as both barbarians and sorcerers. That way Elise could get her level 8 bloodline power twice! (Breathing fire twice a day yey)
Elise of the Red Hill
Just realized I messed up a feat prerequisite so I switched Improved Natural to Raging Vitality
Nethan Ryon Akerman
A bit busier than I'd like, about to hop on a plane will post as soon as I can.
No problem, thanks for the status and have a safe trip.

O boy - the updated playtest document is out!
Just going to read it thru and post the majority of the changes (and level 3 seems like less of a dead level now!)
edit: The major difference is that Bloodragers now have their own spellist. The first level is mostly the same as the magus but on higher level there is a few early entries - but that will not matter in this campaign since we get level 2 spells at 7. Another sweet change is that the Draconic bloodline gets the ability to shapechange into their dragon! (at level 16, but atleast they get form of the dragon II while arcane only get form of the dragon I). Bloodragers also get the ability to apply a spell with the range of touch or self when they enter a rage - at level 11. One change that actually applies to this campaign is the Blood Sanctuary that gives us a +2 save versus "friendly" spells (don't get any dumb ideas from this! :)).
Short summary: Tons of cool features for higher leveled Bloodragers - minor changes for us, and a slightly more restrictive list of spells.

On my phone, won't be on my computer until after work (10hrs or so). Please place me anywhere south of the X's so I don't hold the game up.
Tsadok Stormborn
Hello everyone. Sorry I haven't been posting these last few days. Something has come up and I don't think I will be able to post regularly for a while, so it's probably best if I officially withdraw from the campaign now. Hopefully you all have fun.
Elise of the Red Hill
Sorry to hear that. I hope whatever ails you work out for the best - good luck on that. We will try our best to have fun in your honour!
Nethan Ryon Akerman
Life happens Tsadok and sorry to see you go! Until swords part!
Elise of the Red Hill
May I suggest that we write down which round we are acting in when we post combat actions? It got rather cluttered fast, and it was hard to judge whom was acting when :)
Elise of the Red Hill
Yeah they are expensive all right, Elise has even less then you. That's why we probably should have dealt with it first, before we spent our money on fun stuff :P I have a pair of healing potions for emergencies - so that is something. Maybe we can fleece Sienna, trading in the carcass of the behemoth for enough funds to purchase a wand. Or we could just tough it out ...
Nethan Ryon Akerman
roger and thank you

Merry Christmas to all and to all a Goodnight!
Or, Happy Holidays if you prefer!
Nethan Ryon Akerman
Sorry, I have been out of pocket by surprise for the holidays still. I will be posting tomorrow while working from home :-)
Nethan Ryon Akerman
Hi all, I had a family emergency over the weekend and it may delay my posting (more) because it is still in progress.
