I don't have Precise Shot, so I don't think there is any way I can get off a regular blast. Unless everyone is knocked down in the negatives and drowning that is, lol...that'd get them out of melee!

I know this is metagaming but I'm scared for us. Next round, could the melee people take a 5' step away after attacking. If I delay until that happens I won't take the minus four for firing into melee. Just a thought.

Okay, I'll admit it. I'm scared for us too. If either Ra-Khefer or Turel goes down here, they drown and die that round if we can't get them above water. If Ra-Khefer goes down, I don't think I have the strength to pull him above the water.

I think we should all full retreat to the other side of the room and put the grease patch between us and the thing. Then have Qari just fire.

The only good news here is that Ra-Khefer did actual damage to it. It may not be so far from dead. I sure hope that Polux hits the thing too.

Are there strong feelings one way or another regarding how to handle crits?

The way I've always done it is multiplying the initial number rolled, instead of rolling additional dice. Obviously I'd prefer my way, but are there strong feelings in favor of the latter? The former is more swingy, the latter is more average.

(In case it affects your decision, Polux's critical will resolve the combat either way so it makes no difference here.)

As for criticals, I prefer multiple rolls -- more likely the critical will actually do something. I believe that is the way they are described as working in the CRB.

I seem to remember AD&D 2.0's version was rolling the damage once and then multiplying it; can't remember if 3e did that too or not.

I prefer to roll more dice. More dice makes you feel you've accomplished something.

I have no strong feelings on the matter. I am used to using the crit cards. Which if anyone hasn't tried them they are awesome. Though sometimes they are very random. The Wizard in my mythic game crit with a spell and swapped places with his target. Random teleport! In an different game the same guy was decapitated because of a crit card.

That's three for rolling, four ambivalent and one for multiplying. I'm gonna go with the PF CRB rolling method then. Not gonna bother putting it in Campaign Info since it's the default assumption. Thanks for your input everyone. :)


On the topic of the feel good wand, who should be tracking charges?

I believe only two charges have been used. I just want to know if I should be tracking it as part of the equipment Kito is carrying, or if someone else is tracking it.

Why don't you put a tracker in your header for now? That's what I did with Nefertiti and it seemed to work well.

It amuses me that my sorcerer is the most actively religious of my current characters. Just think, next level you'll see that he's simply divine.

Oh, I hope they're feeling better!

BTW, it's not the chest I'm worried about, it's the wall. The last time I encountered a wall that emanated conjuration in PFS, it summoned nasty little invisible imps on our heads. I've also seen at least one swarm summoning trap.

Thinking about the animals from the setting, I'm guessing a) crocodiles b) giant scorpions or c) a swarm of some iconic Egyptian bug like the scarab.

Of course, I could be wrong. Maybe it's just a portal. That's conjuration too. But after getting trashed by that sarcophagus, I'm being a little paranoid.

Well, I need to get to work on the pretzel kisses I usually make (melt a Hershey kiss and smoosh it between two square pretzels) since I plan to take some to my family gatherings as well as to where I used to work. I'll probably work on doing that today/tomorrow (Monday) and Tuesday.

There'll probably be one last run out to some of the stores with my parents, but since I've got all my shopping done I'll really just be along for the ride since it's a good excuse to get out of the house.

Christmas Eve will likely be spent with my in-laws, though I might be able to swing the gathering with my extended family that day as well, depending on when things start. Christmas Day will be spent in Nashville with the extended in-laws family and then we'll come home and go to my parents' that night to eat and open gifts there. I think this'll be the third year in a row that we have Christmas tacos - it's becoming a tradition!

Sunday I think my F2F gaming group is going to get together and go see Star Wars, which should be fun.

And then I've got my friends' annual Christmas/New Years party to go to on the 2nd.

Other than that? The usual mix of video games (*high fives*), PbP, and job hunting! I've been on a Fallout kick lately which prompted me to finally finish up my playthrough of FO3 + the DLC and now I'm working on playing FO: New Vegas. I think we'll probably be getting FO4 for Christmas but my husband already called first dibs on playing it so I'll likely stick to NV and then move on to something else after that (not sure what though).

Well, I'm hoping to spend some quality time with the family, and staring at the Christmas tree for as long as I can, since I am nuts for this holiday season.

Apart from that, I need to find an eggnog recipe that convinces me - last two years I wasn't satisfied with the results, even though everyone drank from it without much hesitation :P

Until Christmas eve I am hoping to have some time to walk around looking at the decorations without being overwhelmed by crowds of crazed shoppers.

Maybe I'll even get some time to play the one game that has caught my fancy lately - 'Shadows of Mordor' (Hearthstone doesn't count because I just play it every once in a while).

On top of that, I want to spend time in the kitchen - cooking and having a drink all at once.

Kito, yes that's how I like to do it!

On to the holidays -- my mother is here visiting us, which is both joyful and stressful in equal measure.

We finished celebrating Hanukkah and are now are in full swing for Christmas. Our tree is now the favorite plaything of all three of my young cats. They climb it constantly, and bat at the ornaments from inside the branches. It's a good thing that we don't have any breakable ornaments.

I plan to cook a lot of interesting food, play many hands of Uno, and hang out with my children watching sappy movies. Maybe we can catch Star Wars this week.

It's warm for December in Minnesota. We haven't had much snow, and right now it's currently raining. I hope all of you have a happy holiday season, wherever you're celebrating it!
