As a single guy, I'm way too lazy to put up a Christmas tree. My menagerie of animals would no doubt destroy it, though!
My sister had her first child this summer, so my mother moved into the mother in law suite sis and her husband have in their home, so I will be heading there for Christmas. My niece is my mom's first grandchild celebrating her first Christmas, so mom will be over the moon. I am pretty excited to see how fired up mom will be!
Kentucky has been nice and warm so far as well. Lot of rain but no snow yet. After last winter, that's a nice change.

I get roughly every other Christmas off work, and this is one of those, so I will be just chilling at home with the spouse. It's our sixth Christmas together so we have the routine decently well laid out. We'll probably spend the 24th morning doing last minute cleaning and cooking the ham, and decorating the tree. Afternoon = sauna. Then when it's starting to get dark, congregate by the tree and start opening the presents we got each other. Spend the evening of the 24th and the entirety of 25th relaxing, eating, watching TV, playing with the presents, listening to our Christmas playlist on Spotify. Maybe a dark sky walk if it's clear.
On 26th-27th we'll be heading off to a different city to visit spouse's parents which is quite awkward for me because I don't have a lot of common ground to talk with them about, so mostly spouse and parents talk and talk and talk, and I just sit in a corner laptopping yearning to get back to the hotel. :)
The weather here has been well above freezing, oscillating between 5-10C which is 41-50F, so snow is more or less out of the picture, but that's just as well, because snow during near-zero temperatures tends to just melt and then freeze into ice slicks, so if I can't have thick snow, I will much rather have no snow at all.

Samy, if you haven't decided, I would love it if our leveling was tied to story-based landmarks rather than strict XP totals. It always feel weird when a GM tells you, "You're 300xp a piece short of leveling, so here are some infernal squids to battle..."
Not that I think we'll see a lot of infernal squids in Osirion, but you never know. :)

Hope everyone had a great Christmas! I think we're pretty much just in need some appraise rolls and/or results on what we've found so far and then we'll be ready to continue onward, yes?
My gameplay post was a gentle nudge, but there's no rush if most folks are still busy and/or recovering from holiday madness :)
*edit* I'll actually second Harmose's suggestion about story-based leveling unless it's easier for you to track experience and do it that way.
Harmose Al-Nefer
::Nods.::
Harmose's appraise rolls were crap. If someone else with a real intelligence want to appraise our items, go ahead. Actually, there's no reason we all can't do it!
I'm excited to go back to the game when you are ready, Samy!
Aleris Somciel
Truth be told, I figured that with Kito and Polux around it would be better to let them make the appraise checks since they've got the best modifiers whether they're trained in it or not. Of course it was pretty fun to roll back when it was the original six and see what sorts of nonsense everyone would come up with based on their rolls :3
Kito the Scholar
Well, this time we see the best that Kito can do. When it is important, I will probably roll a 1.

You can check your xp progress in the Experience Points spreadsheet. Party has a common xp pool that all kills go into, and when it reaches the amount of xp that eight characters would require to level, the entire party levels up.
If you end up becoming either too tough to steamroll everything, or too weak to beat anything, I reserve the right to adjust the curve somehow to compensate.
I have heard your preferences for story-based leveling, and a decent hybrid system might be that I will just give out reasonable story xp awards at suitable points like dungeon completion or whatever, if you fall 300 xp short of a threshold. It will allow me to smoothe things over to dramatically suitable points, yet still allow to keep a rough count of where you should be by the numbers.

Hoping everyone is having a great holiday season!! It has been crazy on my end, so posting is sparse, and probably will continue so until next week :P
Deseri
sorry for the lag. the holidays are not complete without make me very ill
Deseri
Me too. Something evil has decided to hibernate in my lungs for the winter. Upside is that I am medicated so the world is a little more interesting. Though typing is harder. One of the medications I am on causes blurry vision so typing is having to be done slowly.

Hey everyone... It's almost the New Year. I don't think we have any one in Australia or Asia, so no one is in 2016 just yet. Still, Happy New Year!!

Should old acquaintance be forgot,
and never brought to mind?
Should old acquaintance be forgot,
and old lang syne?
CHORUS:
For auld lang syne, my dear,
for auld lang syne,
we'll take a cup of kindness yet,
for auld lang syne.
And surely you’ll buy your pint cup!
and surely I’ll buy mine!
And we'll take a cup o’ kindness yet,
for auld lang syne.
CHORUS
We two have run about the slopes,
and picked the daisies fine;
But we’ve wandered many a weary foot,
since auld lang syne.
CHORUS
We two have paddled in the stream,
from morning sun till dine†;
But seas between us broad have roared
since auld lang syne.
CHORUS
And there’s a hand my trusty friend!
And give me a hand o’ thine!
And we’ll take a right good-will draught,
for auld lang syne.
CHORUS

For Gerald:
Should old mummies be left to rot,
their treasures still enshrined?
Should old mummies be left to rot,
Or should we rob ‘em blind?
CHORUS:
O rob ‘em blind, my loves
O rob ‘em blind!
We’ll steal Akhentepi’s riches yet
I don’t think he will mind...

My brain has been off its leash all day. Can you tell?
Harmose Al-Nefer
Yep. None of us had much in the way of starting cash, though.
Regarding the Map:
If I placed you inaccurately, fix it in your post.
There may already be a gap between Polux and the Iron Cobra, considering that Turel tumbled in. But it occurred to me that Turel might have intended to be behind the Iron Cobra (where the Sarcophagus is now.) Turel, would you have jumped up there?
Harmose Al-Nefer
I've posted a revised map, and will try to keep revising it as people move. Qari, it looks like there is space for you to go in front of Polux, and then have Polux go in front of you...
Note to self: invest in acrobatics skill. Harmose is clearly using that ability more than is sane when untrained.
Aleris Somciel
According to this it only bypasses SR if you take the physical blast option over the energy one. I'm pretty sure that Qari's is an energy attack.
Harmose Al-Nefer
I'm pretty sure that Qari will need to make a concentration roll to bypass SR since she's hitting touch AC.
Hmm
EDITED to ADD: Aleris, so sneaky, posting before me like that!
Harmose Al-Nefer
Ha! I knew you had a mysterious past!
Harmose Al-Nefer
Let's just all agree that the tally is correct. Time to roll combat forward!
Polux
Hi people. Just to let you know work has thrown a curve ball straight at my face... I'm at the airport right now, and will be travelling until Sunday next week.
I should have internet access, but am anticipating a veeeeeeery busy week. I'll try to stay up to date, but if not just bot me as needed.
Harmose Al-Nefer
Harmose will approve the expense for Thera's yummy, yummy scroll. Actually, if there are other group expenses like masterwork tools or other scrolls we should pick up for survivability, speak up!
Let's make a list!
PS Polux, we'll happily bot you!
Deseri
Identify is a great idea. Originally Deseri need thieves tools but we seem to have that covered so there than a ranged weapon. We need to be sure to have more flour!
Harmose Al-Nefer
We will buy more flour! Just call me the Osirioni dough boy!
Qari Falexia
Flour...good for baking, and for blinding enemies!
