Harmose is correct, but you'll get level-up points aplenty to make up for the inability to adjust at the beginning. Try to consider it a touch of realism -- we don't get to pick our genetic strengths, but we do get to decide which fields we train in and what sort of person we grow into.

Only core race allowed is human. Of non-core races, the following are automatically ok:
aasimar (incl. heritages), android, catfolk, changeling, dhampir (incl. heritages), ifrit, lashunta, oread, ratfolk, samsaran, suli, sylph, tiefling (incl. heritages), undine
Perhaps you can find something somewhere in there.
How critical is the dwarfness to the character?
Harmose Al-Nefer
Camris could totally rock an oread.
Harmose Al-Nefer
Harmose peers at the witch. "Excuse me, but is that a beignet* that you're holding?"

* An in-joke from our Serpent's Rise game, in which there has been much eating of beignets!
Harmose Al-Nefer
But a dex-based disable device will be far better than one that isn't. And the traps have been tough.
Harmose Al-Nefer
"Mmmm. Beignets aren't the only delicious things around here." Harmose grins at the newcomers, then freezes when he sees the glare Aleris gives him. "Um... I mean the coffee is great too!"
Untrained Bluff: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (11) + 5 = 16
He swallows. "Speaking of coffee, should I go get you some, Aleris?"

If you want to go paladin, go paladin! You have the stats for it! You can be our shining knight. What god? Oh, be a paladin of Horus or one of the other Egyptian Ancient Osirian gods! Please!
I feel I should talk a moment about why I have two characters who worship Horus.
I joined Mummy's Mask when it was clear that Razor Coast would not happen because Nohwear was taking us nowhere. I'd already done all that research on Horus for Nef, and when I came up with the resurrection in Harmose's backstory the god just fit.
Then MM came to a halt right around the time that Razor Coast took off again with Eric as GM. So... That's how I have two characters who rock the Eagle, but they have very different takes on him.
Hmm

Wait, both of you are investing in Disable Device? :D
EDIT: And in looking around I'm not sure we need the Investigator skills - most knowledge is covered, social is covered, hmmmm.....
Just enough Disable Device to open simple things and hopefully aid whomever is the main trap person...
Take note of the Perception. People will need to be pointing out exactly where the trap is.

I'm willing to change the gender of my character. I went male mostly to avoid the default gender most choose for witches.
Edit to add:
How badly does this group need healers? The witch class isn't great at healing and the Healing Patron quite frankly looks boring.
Do we have someone who can cast Lesser Restoration and other such things?
Aleris Somciel
Looks like right now, Gerald's oracle and myself (inquisitor) are the only divine casters in the group. I'll leave it up to more experienced players than myself, but I'd be okay with that and maybe utilizing wands and such to cover healing. I'd hate for someone to feel like they have to play a class or choose a class option that's boring to them.
Qari Falexia
As an oracle, Qari will get access to those types of spells. I don't think healing will be my focus, but I plan on taking some condition removal spells as well.
Kito the Scholar
Right, Qari can at least do the condition removal via Scroll as an Oracle. If it becomes too common, the group seriously considers getting you a page of spell known or a mnemonic vestment plus scrolls.
No healing patron for Kito!
Harmose Al-Nefer
But plenty of beignets!
BretI
Not a problem, I'll switch it to female. Most everything I was thinking of doing with the character should still work fine. I'll find a new avatar.
Got it down from eight to three potential patrons.
Going native to the area. Currently planning to go with worshipper of Pharasma. Probably worked with the priests as an interpreter.
Are there any restrictions with regards to picking languages? I've still got another 2 languages based on Int plus another based on Linguistics skill to pick. Looking to get the major languages in use for the area.
Harmose Al-Nefer
Actually, I think Reknar was going female... At least, the backstory that he sent me was for a girl.

You just want lesbian flirtations. But then again, who doesn't enjoy those? Carry on...

Yes, those sorcerer types tend to be rather emotional, don't they?

OK, background added. Good to go here!
I'm afraid that I am barely in the mediocre zone where traps and locks are concerned, that thats only if I shrug off shield and armor to do it. Stats just won't allow anything better. Good in a fight though.
Harmose Al-Nefer
Samy started us all off with an affinity to one particular district of Wati. Harmose got the Morning Sun district, home to the many noble families.
I don't remember what Aleris and Turel have for affinity districts...

I think Turel had the Midwife District and Aleris had the Asp district. This leaves the Necropolis, Veins, and Bargetown that are now unclaimed. Each of us also started with one contact within the city, chosen from a list of possible options.
Aleris has Teht Blackblossom, Turel has Bal Themm and Harmose went with Meehr Zet.
Kito the Scholar
Looking at the Mummy's Mask Players Guide, it seems to me Kito would best fit with either the Veins or Bargetown. The Players Guide also mentions Outer Farms.
I don't have a strong preference, but would probably go for the docks. More people speaking different languages. I'm thinking that Kito has done a fair amount of translation work for people in Wati.

Here is the link to the player information folder on Google Drive. Those who want to be able to edit the Player Editable folder can PM me their gmail addresses to be added to the permissions.
Been refreshing the player list and some things that I noted were:
* At least 4 of 7 are Osirioni.
* 6 of 7 are some variety of Good.
* 2 are human-garundi-osirion-desert child
* 2 are osirion-resurrected
Don't take this as any sort of thumbs up or down. Make whatever character you want to make. Just saying, "interesting".
Harmose Al-Nefer
Erianna, is your character transgender? The name and the picture are feminine, but the description in the crunch says male. Do you have tattoos? So does Harmose, who um, has a thing for tattoos.
Oh, and Kito's trans too! < g >
Qari Falexia
Qari will grab The Veins, if we are to choose a territory.
Farhaan looks like an interesting contact. He's the owner of Tooth & Hookah inn best known for its crocodile mascot and popular with adventuring parties.
Harmose Al-Nefer
He also makes the best lemon lentil soup in all of Wati. The Tooth and Hookah is where our group has been renting its rooms.
