"Again... with the stuff! I need as much detail as you can provide. Names, dates, things you've seen the devil do. What's it look like? Where did it first appear?"
He began in exasperation. His cousin had always been an annoyance, though a powerful one.

Exxor |

Exxor ponders if anyone is really dumb enough to have not questioned a devil 'helping" them out, and know exactly the details associated with it.
He also ponders if he will even try to stop Miro.
I know the contract is not with me, or Tram or Miss Tarvi - that is not helpful. Who IS the contract with, what are the terms, where is it, and as Tram specified - define "STUFF"...
Dealing with his lordships evasive answer was growing tiresome.

"So tell us about those people. Because if you think they are unhappy now, wait til we solve this problem."
He added grinning almost wickedly.

Wait you mean one of the pc's isnt supposed to fall for the snarky girl and then try to become mayor of a major city? I could have sworn that was cannon :) Weirdly this isnt the first time ive had a charector basically take over a town's mayorship in a time of crisis. Ask my halfling paladin about becoming the mayor of Safeton in Greyhawk due to an orc invasion.

MiniGM |

Im sorry guys. I have entered my 90 hours weeks. I am not abandoning, just the real slow down
OK look. There are some folks who are what you might call thieves. They are very powerful, and they run pretty much all criminal activity in the city. Look its all above my paygrade, or your aygrade now, but they have friends in high places. I don't know much about the contract with the devil, I just know its a powerful one.
[bigger]BOOOOOOOOOMMMMMM!!!!!!
There is another massive explosion from the direction of the mayoral manor.

Exxor |

Shadowbeasts, vampires, devils... suuuuuure why not.
At Miro's question, Exxor looks to Miss Tarvi and Tram for agreement, and trying to determine if the Mayor is hiding any further useful information.
Sense Motive: 1d20 + 14 ⇒ (7) + 14 = 21
Assuming we do go to see what is going boom; Exxor would request Hippa and Tarvi keep his Lordship comfortable here at the store, in case we need additional information to, you know, not get killed.

"Well then I guess we should be off to see if we cant save what we can of the mayor's man... well my mansion I guess. Love keep my cousin comfortable and uh... try not to hurt him."
He said with a very serious tone because after all he was being serious. If his cousin thought he had been rough with him wait til his love got a hold of him.
Not really a whim he suddenly pulled Tarvi close and kissed her full on the mouth like you see in the plays almost dipping her back... almost. He took a hurried step back to avoid any kicks or stabbings and spun whistling a jaunty tune as he no doubt marched out to face death.

He paused at the doorway and shook his head. He didnt turn and approach but merely sighed.
"We are going to fight a devil that runs a mansion filled with magic. There are good odds I dont come back. Sorry for the bad kiss my love. I'll do better in the future I hope."
He began with a shrug turning to go again while rubbing his cheek.

Exxor |

Exxor hears the slap and Miss Tarvi, and cringes. Twice. Then joins Miro outside and waits for Tram to untangle his foot from his mouth and, he hoped, exit gracefully.
Well my friend, we probably should have gotten some insights on devil fighting from the ladies... but I think we are still safe going after the devil directly. Do you know anything useful about devils?

he studied the pillars of flame and grumbled mumbling under his breath.
"Romance? I brought the woman back on magic one time. you know what got me? pushed out of the room and told to leave her alone so she could study. That woman is the one who could do with reading fanciful books on how to ...Bah!"
He began with a scowl.
"cold iron, holy water and oils, maybe some healing potions if we can manage."
perception: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (11) + 7 = 18
Anyone about city guards or anything like that?

Exxor |

Pillars! No question Miro. Pillars. Exxor says, then looks to Tram,
Come on, lets see if we can't keep you alive long enough to bring the woman flowers. When you do, tell her there is nothing you would not do to keep her safe -including this. If that doesn't work; you are on your own!
Exxor begins walking forward towards the five flaming pillars.
Five pillars, wonder what that symbolizes....

![]() |

[ooc] I didnt think to ask and should have, would we have had time to oh maybe swing by someplace for a few potion purchases? No heals full time heals is dangerous and I would love to maybe get an oil of holy energy on my weapon :P [ooc]
"Stay close, keep your eyes open and Miro, no going insane and making me punt frank 60 yards please."
He muttered as they moved deeper in
Wisdom: 1d20 ⇒ 10

![]() |

"It makes it easy to travel the roads when they are laid out in the pentagramal formation. Things you learn while studying business in the academy eh?"
He answered with a frown, he would wait a bit before putting the oil on the weapon they still hadn't you know come across any monsters just yet.
"Anyone see any of the city guard? Did we get a writ from my cousin about hte mayorial switch? We really should have." He growled as they moved forward.

Exxor |

Exxor looks at Tram and grins, On the plus side, moving on has GOT to be less scary that going back to Miss Tarvi at the moment.
He then looks to Miro, Speaking of, I don't want to have to explain to Miss Tarvi how we let Tram get incinerated, eaten by a devil, or mauled by a crazed halfling - so lets be careful!

MiniGM |

Our heroes make their way down closer to the ruined manor, and then, shocking Tarvi appears.
Wait, I have some info. Once of Miro's cousins has been helping me out!
You’ve
doubtless heard the rumors—that there’s a devil imprisoned
under the manor-well I guess we all did from his ex-mayorness… She gives a sly look at the new mayor Tram and its infernal power is the source of the
manor’s extravagances. Those rumors are correct. The devil’s
name is Liebdaga the Twin—he’s an infernal duke from Avernus,
and the House of Thrune put him there. But now something’s
gone wrong. Arvanxi's majordomo, Crosael, was caught by the mayor trying
to steal the contract that details the conditions of Liebdaga's
imprisonment from a hidden safe in the mayors office chambers, and now
the ruins of the home are crawling with devils, thugs, diabolists,
and worse. Seems Crosael’s more than she appeared—not only
is she actually a damnable tiefling, but she’s been working for
the Council of Thieves all this time
reminder the council is the cities real power, illicit and scary

![]() |

"Well then I suppose the first order of business after this it to get the council of thieves under heel... provided we live through this. You said trying to steal not having actually stolen?"
He asked a hopeful smile on his face. She hadnt slapped him yet, hadn't yelled at him. Now if he could only not die to a legion of things wanting his death.
