It would appear you and I have different interpretations of what 'get going' means.

So NPC choice time. I want all three of you to discuss together and come to a consensus. Names and class are below (in the order I introduced them in), with spoiler-free player-safe statblocks available on request. Remember that ideally, the NPCs will be temporary on a per mission basis. Anytime between outings, you guys can switch whom is with you, at least until we get a fourth player. You can also send them back to the guild at anytime during a mission, if you decide you don't want them any further.
I have adjusted each of them to match your guys' average levels relatively fairly. Some will seem slightly stronger, others slightly weaker, but none will destabilize the party's encounters in any significant fashion, and as a whole, you guys will be better equipped and stronger over the long run. Each one covers some of the party's missing areas, so even if something seems like a double up, chances are, they've got something that the trio of you currently don't have. They all will level alongside you guys, but will be outpaced by you.
Not listed are Marsailles and Estelle, but with a strong enough Diplomacy check (DC 20), they can be convinced. They will destabilize things a bit, Marsailles moreso than Estelle, hence why they aren't defaults.
Choice 1: Titania, Paladin 3
Choice 2: Mikaiela, Oracle 5 (comes with a single Skeletal Wolf)
Choice 3: Roland, Barbarian 5
Choice 4: Norme, Summoner 5 (comes with an Eidolon)
Choice 5: Yoriko, Warpriest 5
Choice 6: Trick, Bard 5
Choice 7: Andreas, Rogue 5
Character information on each, I'd rather you guys find out ICly, but if you want, ask away, and I can share it here as well.

Well, at first I thought having Andreas on the team might be good, but I looked at Lady Zal's skills and she has an awesome Disable Device, so Andrea might not be needed. PR wise, it might be fun to have Titania, Norme, or Yoriko on the team. Plus, Norme already has some interest/experience assisting up with the map from the previous day. The one I would pick would be Trick: a bard is a great jack-of-all-trades and his inspire courage would be a great boon in combat. Trick or Norme.

Speaking of Diplomacy checks: do you ladies want to see if Davian can get the guildmaster or the crown-princess to join us?
Zaeta |
Yes, I think it would be great if they would join.
1, 4, or 5 are also fine with me. I guess I vote Norme.
Davian Dreamspun |
Well, it looks like Norme is our man (and maybe to a lesser extent, Jezebeth as well).
Zaeta |
Flying to Vancouver in the morning to help my brother. Not sure if I will have a chance to post from there or not, so might be essentially offline until the 4th. Apologies for the late notice. Please bot me as needed.

Is Yoriko the scythe-lady?
Davian Dreamspun |
Davian cedes to Lady Zal's judgement.

So much talk of where this game was going and that we would have to did. Did not even get to the 1st bit of action.
So my breakdown of this game. This is meant to help not criticise.
1: Big dreams going nowhere.
This is a GM trap just about every GM falls into, big plans about the world and game play and zuuuunnk... they fall flat when game play stalls or things don't go the way you like. I found now its always best not to over plan the end game but keep it small and to the now.
2: GM likes MPCs more than players.
Yep this one as well is hard to brake free of, you build your world, place NPCs in it and can't wait for this amazing idea of your to get started. Then the PCs come along and don't play in a way that you want. "They are braking my world" Truth is they are meant to, RPGing is about fun and working as a group, GM may have power but your the minority. If the players want B and you want A, they out vote you in the fun stakes to go with B and make it work for you. I find thats always the best way, than fighting the majority.
3: let the player play. The most fun you can have as a GM is seeing a group of players having fun playing YOUR game. Thats a hard one, there is a set of fine lines to walk, but get it right and its the best.
You have to be
kind but not to kind
Forgiving but not to Forgiving
Mysterious but not to Mysterious
You get the idea, if players are unhappy, you have some of the lines crossed to much. :)

I'm having fun in this campaign and I want it to continue!
