Group of Four Hill Giants (GoF)
@Ulfgard - The second GoF Hill Giant was killed by Leira and Kaos' attacks before your actions in Round One.
GoF Hill Giant 1 Reflex Save: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (19) + 2 = 21
GoF Hill Giant 3 Reflex Save: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (16) + 2 = 18
GoF Hill Giant 4 Reflex Save: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (17) + 2 = 19
Wow! The first one actually saved from Anga's Fireball.
The first GoF Hill Giant steps away from the flames, grabs his massive club, and tries to bash the Dwarf Warpriest.
GoF Hill Giant 1 greatclub: 1d20 + 14 ⇒ (14) + 14 = 282d8 + 10 ⇒ (7, 3) + 10 = 20
It delivers a solid strike against Ragnir.
Ragnir takes 20 points of damage.
The third and fourth GoF Hill Giants retreat away from the flames and the party screaming. Their howls will remind the party of the cries of a small female child. They do at least have the sense enough to grab their clubs as they retreat.
Group of Three Hill Giants (GoT)
They are at first startled by what they see, but this group of three Hill Giants, though nothing like the bravest in Game of Thrones, are the bravest of their clan. They grab their Greatclubs and move to engage the party.
Ogres
The Ogres take their cue from the GoT Hill Giants and also advance toward the party.
However, a female Hill Giant in the way back sees what is happened, and turns and leaves out the nearest door.
That's all the Giants actions. Haskyll's and Ulfgard's post will complete the Round. Should either of you attack the GoT Hill Giants approaching, this will shift your initiative to after the Giants in the Round.
Map updated! After Haskyll and Ulfgard's post I will recap the Round.

| 1 person marked this as a favorite. |
A Fire Elemental appears as though it was coming from the midst of Anga's Fireball.
Droja casts a spell on herself and heads to the door. She then makes a "Whoosh-a-whoosh", sound. The Fire Elemental turns briefly towards the door then moves to engage the first GoF Hill Giant. Ignan tries to set the Hill Giant's Hide Armor on fire.
Ignan's slam: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (19) + 7 = 261d6 + 1 + 1d6 ⇒ (4) + 1 + (5) = 10
GM Note on Droja: I modified Droja's 9th Level a bit. I gave her Tongues as a spell instead of Restoration. Originally, I had given her Ignan as an additional language. The problem with this is that she would not have had a place to learn this additional language. By giving her Tongues, she will be able to converse with her Fire Elemental and in the process begin to learn the Ignan language.

Round One....well mostly
Seeing the commotion coming from the other end of the room, the Marsh Giant reacts quickly to the situation and heads toward the ruckus.
Anga simply plants a Fireball on top of three nearby Hill Giants.
Two screech like little human girls and runaway from the direction of the party.
As the Hill Giant nearest Leira looks in bewilderment at the Fireball that just erupted in front it, the Rogue Arcanist sinks two arrows deep into the Hill Giant's back.
Kaos then moves in a finishes off the second Hill Giant from the group of four. It died quickly and quietly unlike its shrieking brethren.
Ragnir runs out of the pantry and takes a swing at the first Hill Giant, but the Warpriest was also startled a bit by the erupting Fireball that he missed his target on the attack.
Ulfgard hesitates a bit as he sees more Hill Giants approaching.
The first Hill Giant in the front group of four was a bit singed, but still managed to stand and attack Ragnir. The Hill Giant hit the approaching Dwarf Warpriest.
The three Hill Giants toward the middle move to the sound of battle. These three do look different than their counterparts. Some wear armor other than hide, and carry weapons other than greatclubs.
Ulfgard moves and engages the first Hill Giant from the middle group of three. This Hill Giant is wearing a steel breastplate. It is dirty and dented, but of otherwise high quality. But what is truly different about this Hill Giant is his weapon. He is wielding a large Trident. He takes a stab at Ulfgard with it as the Dwarf Ranger approaches. The poke doesn't even scratch Ulfgard's armor.
GoT1 Hill Giant with Trident: 1d20 + 15 ⇒ (4) + 15 = 192d6 + 11 ⇒ (6, 4) + 11 = 21
Ulfgard put a dent into the Hill Giant's breastplate, but the blow from Agrimmosh failed to do the Hill Giant any real harm.
A group of Ogres approach behind the group of three Hill Giants.
A female Hill Giant in the back has seen enough and slips out the back door.
The Fire Elemental Ignan appears. Droja moves to the door and calls out to Ignan in a strange language. The Fire Elemental turns toward Droja nod and attacks the first Hill Giant from the front group of four.
This first Hill Giant sees the Fire Elemental approaching out of the corner of its eye. It takes the opportunity to swing at the creature from the Elemental Plane of Fire. The greatclub passes through parts of Ignan. The blow seems to have weaken the Fire Elemental some.
GoF Hill Giant 1 greatclub: 1d20 + 14 ⇒ (7) + 14 = 212d8 + 10 ⇒ (4, 2) + 10 = 16
But not enough for the Fire Elemental to burn the first Hill Giant's legs near its loincloth.
GoF Hill Giant 1 Reflex: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (3) + 2 = 5
This first Hill Giant from the front group of four may have been able to dodge Anga's Fireball, it was not nimble enough to keep Ignan from setting its loincloth on fire.
The first Hill Giant is on fire.
GoT Hill Giant 1 Will vs Nail Scale: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (12) + 3 = 15
After missing its attack of opportunity the first breastplate wearing Hill Giant sees Haskyll. A sense of dread falls over the Hill Giant.
Yep! I forgot. Fortunately, it missed any way. This is the only one so far to be close enough for the saving throw.

Round Two...well again mostly.
The Female Marsh Giant moves toward the center of the room, just to have a volley of Scorching Rays head her way. One after the other hit the Female Marsh Giant she howls in a combination of pain and anger.
Leira fires a pair of arrows at the first Hill Giant from the Group of Four. The Rogue Arcanist's first arrow hits the giant, but her second arrow glanced off the big oaf's hide armor.
Kaos jumps on the table and with an acrobatic move attacks this first Hill Giant from the Group of Four. He drives Gorum's Thorn into the its belly. It doubles over and falls unconscious onto the Groghall's stone floor. Blood, smoke, and flames begin to spread around the fallen body.
With this first Hill Giant fallen, Ragnir moves to the third Hill Giant from the Group of Three.
This third Hill Giant, wields a Halberd, and take a swing at the approaching Dwarf, but Ragnir ducks under the big polearm.
GoT Hill Giant 3 AoO: 1d20 + 15 ⇒ (2) + 15 = 172d8 + 11 ⇒ (1, 3) + 11 = 15
Ragnir strikes this Hill Giant solidly with his Frost Mace.
The remaining two Hill Giants from the Group of Four scramble for vials from within sack, uncork and drink its liquid contents. The Hill Giants appear to still be in anguish.
Taking a step back, the breastplate wearing, trident wielding Hill Giant from the Group of Three misses with a pair of apprehensive swings against the Dwarf Ranger.
GoT Hill Giant 1, -1 Prayer, -4 Nail Scale: 1d20 + 14 - 1 - 4 ⇒ (5) + 14 - 1 - 4 = 142d8 + 10 - 1 ⇒ (4, 2) + 10 - 1 = 15

A second Hill Giant wearing Chain Mail, and wielding a massive battleaxe moves up to attack the Dwarf Ranger. Seeing Haskyll wearing armor made from familiar nails causes this second Hill Giant to become squeamish about its possibilities. It doesn't stop its attack, but it does effect its outcome. And like its clan member, the Hill Giant's attack was both feeble and ineffective.
GoT Hill Giant 2 Will Save: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (3) + 3 = 6
GoT Hill Giant 2, -1 Prayer, -4 Nail Scale: 1d20 + 14 - 1 - 4 ⇒ (6) + 14 - 1 - 4 = 152d8 + 10 - 1 ⇒ (4, 7) + 10 - 1 = 20
The third Hill Giant from the Group of Three is not affected by Haskyll's armor. Using its Halberd, it steps back and attacks with abandon against the Dwarf Warpriest. It cuts into Ragnir, getting through the Warpriest's armor
GoT Hill Giant 3, 1st Attack: 1d20 + 14 ⇒ (14) + 14 = 282d8 + 10 ⇒ (5, 2) + 10 = 17
GoT Hill Giant 3, 2nd Attack: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (18) + 9 = 272d8 + 10 ⇒ (1, 7) + 10 = 18
Ragnir's zeal is beginning to wane from the potent blows he has received.
Ulfgard steps up and brings Agrimmosh down hard onto the first trident wielding Hill Giant. The great hammer lands two solid blows doing more than just denting its breastplate.
The Ogres continue to advance.
Ignan takes a step and goes after the third Hill Giant from the Group of Three. The Fire Elemental zigged when the Hill Giant zagged.
Ignan's slam: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (4) + 7 = 111d6 + 1 + 1d6 ⇒ (2) + 1 + (1) = 4
Droja moves to the nearest dead Hill Giant. She touches the corpse and it begins to stand.
The second Hill Giant from the Group of Three does not take an attack of opportunity as this hill giant stands. It first thinks it may be an ally.

The Female Marsh Giant acts first in the Round.
The Female Marsh Giant curses in Giant and then flies above the massive table toward the party. At a point about 20 feet above the floor and table the Female March Giant sends out a fan of bitter cold energy.
Cone of Cold: 9d6 ⇒ (1, 6, 4, 1, 5, 2, 4, 3, 5) = 31
I have put up an overlay of the area effected by the Cone of Cold. The cone effects Anga, Droja, Haskyll, Leira, and the newly created Zombie Hill Giant. The five will need to roll a DC18 Reflex Save. If you fail, you will take 31 points of damage. If you make it, you will take 15 points of damage.
I was waiting for clarity on Haskyll's actions before making this move. However with Leira's post, she may want to change her target since she would go after the Female Marsh Giant. And Haskyll's actions at the end of Round Two did not target the Female Marsh Giant.

I had to re-adjust the wall. it is 2" thick and 45' long according to the CRB. But my first iteration had it going over tables. I changed that to the serpentine pattern seen now. :)

Round Two Complete
Haskyll calls above and receives a column of Holy energies that smite two approaching Ogres. Both Ogres howl in pain and misery from the strike. They are both blinded by the radiance of good that falls upon them.
Ogre 1 Will Save: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (6) + 3 = 9
Ogre 3 Will Save: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (1) + 3 = 4
Ferrin is startled by what just happened in front of her. Powerful in her own right, she is both impressed and apprehensive at the abilities of the adventurers.
Round Three
The Female Marsh Giant suddenly flies up above the massive wooden tables toward the bulk of the party. A freezing cone of cold energies pours out from the bulbous green giant encompassing the newly formed Zombie Hill Giant, Droja, Anga, Leira, and Haskyll. The Zombie Hill Giant takes the brunt of the wave of cold energies as the other members of the party take a degree of cover or dodge under the the cone's full effect.
Leira's Reflex Save, Haste, Prayer: 1d20 + 12 + 1 + 1 ⇒ (5) + 12 + 1 + 1 = 19
Kaos calls out that it is an Ogre Magi, a creature not of this world.
The Dwarf Wizard has had enough of that. She slings a powerful Magic Missile at the flying what-ever-it-is. It reels from the missile but the flying giant stays aloft.
Kaos calls out to Ragnir to fall back, then delivers a powerful blow against the Halberd wielding third Hill Giant from the Group of Three. The massive Hill Giant takes the thrust and does not fall.
Retreat is simply not his way, the brave Ragnir does not listen to the good advice from Kaos. Instead he attacks with all his gusto delivering a critical strike against the massive halberd wielding Hill Giant. The blow knocks out the third Hill Giant from the Group of Three.

Not really feeling that much better about the situation, the remaining two Hill Giants from the Group of Four tentatively advances toward the party.
The first and second Hill Giants from the Group of Three takes a step back and attacks the Dwarf Ranger. The first one manages to land a damaging blow against Ulfgard. None of the other attacks were effective enough to cause the brave Ranger harm.

Ulfgard is heroic in whatever he does.
The first and third Ogres, blinded by the Holy Smite stand stunned in place. A second Ogre from across the room advances. A fourth Ogre stops and looks at Ferrin. Ferrin just shrugs at the Ogre.
A female Ogre gets closer to the Dwarf Ranger.
Droja calls out to Ignan to attack the next giant in line. The Fire Elemental moves toward the blinded third Ogre but is startled by the residual effects of the Holy Smite and misses his target.
Ignan's slam: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (1) + 7 = 81d6 + 1 + 1d6 ⇒ (5) + 1 + (1) = 7
Droja then orders the Zombie Hill Giant to attack the second Hill Giant from the Group of Three. No longer able to wield its greatclub the Zombie tries slams into the second of the Group of Three Hill Giants only to stumble over the bench.
Zombie Hill Giant slam: 1d20 + 13 ⇒ (1) + 13 = 141d8 + 13 ⇒ (2) + 13 = 15
In Orcish, Droja delivers a rather vile curse at her newly created Zombie. She the looks at the flying giant, "Stop right there!" Droja tries to hold the Ogre Magi.
Ogre Magi Will Save: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (13) + 10 = 23
But unlike other giants, this creature resists Droja's attempt.
Haskyll sends out a wave of Holy Ice toward the giants.

@Ulfgard - Need your Round Three Actions.
@Haskyll - This Holy Ice thing is new to me. Are you setting up a Wall of Ice or are you using Javelins. I am a bit confused. I will recap Haskyll's Round Three when I have greater clarity. Thanks.

Round Three Complete
Ulfgard steps up and attacks the first Hill Giant from the Group of Three. His first blow was a solid strike. His second, well at least Ulfgard didn't stumble and fall. But as the Ranger steadies himself, Ulfgard strikes again. Real concern crosses the first Hill Giant's face as he is struck once again by Minderhal's Hammer.
Haskyll tries to stop the Hill Giants that approaching. He calls for and receives a wave of Ice Javelins. The first javelin hits the floor, quickly returning back to Holy Water. The second strikes the first Hill Giant from the Group of Three. Already stinging from Ulfgard's blows, this Hill Giant stumbles then falls.
Haskyll's remaining javelins target the second Hill Giant from the Group of Three. Many of the Ice Javelins strike their target.
I calculated that Haskyll did 24 points of damage to the second Hill Giant from the Group of Three.

Round Four - Mostly
The Ogre Magi tuns into a vaporous gas.
Anga does something simply heroic.
Leira fires a pair of magic infused arrows at the gaseous form. The arrows do not pass through but stick. The gaseous form turns solid again. It no longer looks like a Marsh Giant. The now true appearance of the Ogress Magi is seen with Leira's arrows sticking into it. The creature falls to the table and bench below with a crash. It is dead.
Gaseous Form is useless except to move through tight areas like a crack under a door. I assumed that Leira was firing her arrows at the Ogre Magi due to her comment and not the other Ogress approaching.
Kaos, seeing the the Ogre Magi fall, moves to pour out his fiery breath on as many of the giants as possible. The second Hill Giant sides steps some of the flames. The Ogress takes the full brunt. The fires kill the first Hill Giant from the Group of Three.
Needed to edit Kaos' actions.

Holding his ground, but now without an enemy directly on him, Ragnir calls forth powerful healing.
CSW instead of Invisibility Purge: 3d8 + 8 ⇒ (7, 6, 8) + 8 = 29
The third Hill Giant from the original Group of Four moves on top of the table to go after a blurry Kaos.
20% Miss Chance - Low Fails: 1d100 ⇒ 20
But the attack missed the shifting and wavering Dragon Disciple.
The fourth Hill Giant moves up and attacks the fiery elemental. The blow sends Ignan back to the Elemental Plane of Fire.
Hill Giant GoF 4 with Greatclub and PA: 1d20 + 14 - 2 ⇒ (17) + 14 - 2 = 292d8 + 10 + 4 ⇒ (3, 6) + 10 + 4 = 23
The last of the Group of Three Hill Giants attacks Ulfgard. But none of its attacks were able to penetrate the Dwarf Ranger's stout defenses.
Hill Giant GoT 2 with Greatclub and PA 1st Attack: 1d20 + 14 - 2 ⇒ (6) + 14 - 2 = 182d8 + 10 + 4 ⇒ (1, 4) + 10 + 4 = 19

On the other hand, Ulfgard pounces the Hill Giant with two of three blows with Agrimmosh. The Hill Giant is hurt, but does not fall from the attack.
It is bloodied though. Oops, wrong game system.
The blinded Ogres recover. A fourth one hesitates with the other two. A second Ogre approaches between the tables.
The Ogress, her hair singed, some of her skimpy clothing burnt off, turns and runs toward the exit.
Droja directs her new Zombie to attack the second Hill Giant, then she begins to summon in another helper.
Unable to really grasp its greatclub, the Zombie Hill Giant slams into the second Hill Giant from the Group of Three.
slam: 1d20 + 17 ⇒ (17) + 17 = 341d8 + 12 ⇒ (4) + 12 = 16
The blow was enough to knock out the second Hill Giant.
Haskyll puts up a wall of stone to block the wave of Ogres and the one Hill Giant from approaching Ragnir's side of the great hall.
Ferrin moves toward the exit as well, but not to leave, but to cut off any that might try to flee and warn others.
