Haskyll looks at the corpses.
Torag ensure their souls make it into Pharasma's grace, and give us the strength to ensure that they will be avenged.
Haskylls tone turns down and angry as he looks at the bodies that are just thrown there.
He then looks up at the others after giving a quick prayer of the fallen to each.
Let us go
GM Mazra
Leira will not find a trap on the door. It is not locked.
Kaos will see a number of items that radiate magic, plus other items that are of value. But it would take at least five minutes to rummage through the items.
Do you take the time to rummage through the stuff?
The pile of human corpses are the body of eight soldiers.
Three of the soldiers are wearing chain shirts, three scale mail, and one splint mail. The splint mail radiates magic.
Haskyll Stonereaver
Anything quickly grab-able, we should grab and stuff in a bag. After that, we should note and come back for.
GM Mazra
It would take time to remove the magic suit of Splint Mail from the human corpse. Do you take the time?
Besides the Splint Mail, the only other items immediately recognizable as radiating magic is a large dagger with a stout, wide blade, and a long wooden handle with jet inlay. There is also a huge broken Darkwood Shield that radiates magic.
There are many boxes, jars, and other containers that could have items that radiate magic, but the party would not see this without opening the containers.
Haskyll Stonereaver
Suggesting we grab the dagger, handle with jet inlay, and shield (Can be repaired.) leave the splint for right now.
Leira
" Let's take the easy grabs then move on. We can come back later " Leira takes the dagger herself as it can be of use for her skills.
GM Mazra
Leira opens the next set of double-doors. She sees a massive chamber. The curved outer wall of this spacious chamber is set with tall, arched windows blacked out with mud and dung. The patchwork of hides stretched across the floor is stitched together with gut and sinew to form a makeshift rug, but is heavily trampled and caked with mud. A steep stone staircase climbs through a darkened arch in the eastern wall next to a wide-mouthed stone well. Crude doors fashioned from raw planks bound with hammered iron bands hang in archways to the north and south.
A hulking, overly large ettin is lingering in the middle of the room. It reacts to the door opening.

Ulfgard quickly moves forward, but stays out of reach, so that the ettin has to charge him.

Waiting until the Ettin moves before I go. :(
Giants of Legend
One edit to the map. This Ettin is one size category larger than normal. It is huge.
Round One Start
Leira steps in and buries an arrow into the over-sized Ettin's chest.
Ulfgard steps in as well.
Kaos charges past his comrades and delivers a critical strike against the two headed monstrosity. It is at that time that Kaos notices that the Ettin is missing an eye on one of its head. Also, he notices a massive chain attached to an ankle leading over to the stairs. It looks to have plenty of lead on the chain. Kaos does not trip huge creature.
Kaos' Trip attempt Ettin's CMD24: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (3) + 10 = 13
Startled by all this, and now fighting for its life, the Ettin backs up a step and takes a series of swings at the Human with a pair of flails. The head with two eyes lands two solid blows against Kaos. But the one-eyed head misses all of its attacks.
Ettin Head 1 with Flail 1st attack: 1d20 + 14 ⇒ (11) + 14 = 252d8 + 8 ⇒ (4, 1) + 8 = 13

Round One
After Leira hits the Ettin with an arrow, Kaos charges in and delivers a critical strike. The Ettin strikes Kaos.
Ulfgard charges in too. He lands a blow.
Anga moves in and pops the big creature with a Magic Missile.
The creature sways one way. The one-eyed head slumps over. The eyes on the other head rolls back, and the big creature falls over. It dies upon impact with the stone floor.
That was quick.
Victory!
Haskyll would have been able to hold back his Prayer.
The party will see another set of double-doors, and stairs up.
Where do you go?
GM Mazra
Kaos will not see anything that radiates magic. He does see a wooden spindle and crank wheel laying in pieces next to the well. The well is 50 feet deep and reeks of humanoid waste. Likely the Ettin used the well as a latrine. Droja will be particularly disgusted by this.
That is about it. There are double doors to the left and stairs up.
Leira
Perception (+1 vs traps): 1d20 + 19 ⇒ (6) + 19 = 25
Leira checks the doors but points to the stairs "We were told the prisoners are stairs up. Let's open this door and then head straight up"

Moving on!
The stealthy Leira quietly opens the door and peeks inside the room. She immediately hears the sound of extremely loud snoring. The room is dark, but not in total darkness. She sees squalid sleeping pallets and thick, ratty furs that are spread across the mud-caked floor of this circular room. Great arched window frames run about the perimeter of the walls, though they have been boarded shut and sealed with concrete. The scent of rancid milk and vomit hangs in the air.
Four of the pallets contain giants. The four are asleep. Leira did not wake them.
What does the party do?
Leira
I still have problems to join paizo from time to time. Thanks Mazra for moving on
Leira slowly closes back the door for the group to decide. She whispers through her message connection "I find it cruel for such an slaughter even for giants. Why we don't just jam this door so they do not come out?"
Kaos Axe Hands
|
That works it's not like we can worry about enemies being behind us when there's an entire army of them just outside. Let's move up.
Kaos is good either way. There evil but there's no way to get them all. That is why I asked ooc
Haskyll Stonereaver
Torag states that we should scatter them and prevent them from hurting us and ours. But I look at it this way. We should board them in, and move on.
Man has the site ever been down a lot recently.
GM Mazra
How does the party bar the door?[
Leira quietly heads up the stairs. She sees an immense L-shaped table, carved of black walnut and polished until it gleams, serves as the centerpiece of this large circular chamber, surrounded by several chairs. Numerous arched windows look out over the surrounding countryside.
Between the windows, a variety of maps, drawings, and diagrams have been tacked to the walls. A line of severed heads skewered upon long iron pikes runs around the perimeter of the room. Interspersed among the pikes are six large iron perches. Leira is moving up the west flight of stairs.
On the opposite side of the chamber to the east, a second set of stairs curves upward along the wall.
On each of the iron perches sits what looks like a two-headed vulture with greasy, night-black wings and sharp looking talons. To the right, a massive giant with a singular eye on his forehead is feeding one of the two-headed vultures.
How much further does Leira lead the party? Also, please roll a Stealth check.
A new map is up.
Leira
Before moving on, Leira uses her deftly knowledge of mechanisms to jam the door.
Disable device (jam): 1d20 + 27 ⇒ (14) + 27 = 41
Leira leads the group until the tip of the stairs. Once she pictures the situation she turns to whisper to the group "It seems the take carer of the vultures is that giant. Perhaps we can talk him out of this, but if you wish so, I will join you in the attack" and she loads and readies her giant bane heavy crossbow.

Haskyll Stonereaver
Sorry for the add on, but we put a leather pad between the iron of the spike and the wood of the hammer, and we should be making minimal noise. But not thinking more than a strike per spike.

With this blessing, you call your allies to move forth and empower them to conquer and become victorious. Each round for the duration of this spell, each of your allies can choose one of the following bonuses for that round at the beginning of its turn (their choice).
• Increase its speed by 30 feet.
• Stand up as a swift action without provoking an attack of opportunity.
• Make one extra attack as part of a full attack action, using its highest base attack bonus.
• Gain a +2 bonus on attack rolls and a +2 dodge bonus to AC and Reflex saves.
• Cast a single spell of 2nd level or lower as if it were an enlarged, extended, silent, or still spell.
These effects are not cumulative with similar effects, such as those provided by haste or a speed weapon, nor do they actually grant an extra action, so you can’t use it to cast a second spell or otherwise take an extra action in the round.

Round One
Droja cast Aid on Haskyll.
Ulfgard moves into the room.
Leira moves into the room and takes a sniping attack against the one-eyed giant. She sticks and arrow deep into the flat-footed monstrosity.
Kaos moves into the room and puts up a Shield.
Haskyll moves into the room while asking for and receiving a Blessing of Fervour for each of the members of the party.
Anga moves to the top of the stairs drawing out a wand. She uses it to fire an Acid Arrow at the one-eyed giant. it strikes the giant.
The one-eyed giant is clearly the most threatening creature in the room.
Ragnir moves up next to Haskyll casting an extended Shield of Faith.
The SoF will last twelve minutes. (120 Rounds}

It missed its Critical Hit against Leira. Good thing as it would have killed the Rogue Arcanist. Instead Leira takes 25 points of damage. In addition, its Perception check was high enough to notice Leira without a roll.
