Uruelleth, thank you for the clarification on the loot question. I'll post a little blurb about what you found in my next gameplay post. That post may or may not be around this time tomorrow night depending on what (if anything) you want to discuss as a group before going to sleep for the night.

Level up summaries look good so far, folks. See invisibility seems like a really weird bloodline spell for the Marid Bloodline, but I probably just don't know enough about Marids. It should definitely come in handy at some point for this campaign.

I'm getting access to some decently powerful spells, but its probably not until next level where I can really start flexing my spell list. What I'd like (if possible) is some input towards what sort of spells we would like Talia to have on standby so that I can get closer to a default spell list to help the GM out.

Like, I could go for battlefield spells like Entangle, Stinking Cloud but that might conflict with our melee heavy lineup. One of my 3rd level spells that I might prepare daily might be Fly (because honestly, thats always going to be useful) but if anyone has any preferences, wants, dreams etc, feel free to speak up.

I suspect we'll have two types of hard encounter, single enemies with amazing defences and mass brawls. Debuffs are the way forward for the former and battle field control for the latter. Both rely on high save DCs and (later) bypassing SR. It's feasible to do both, especially on your shaman. So I guess that's my suggestion.

My goal with Talivar is to have one primary (thematic) blast in levels 1-4 and the rest will be utility (particularly if it can somehow fit in with the cold / water bloodline theme). Down the line, I'm sure Talivar will take some wall spells to help shape the battle field.

Entangle is a pretty good spell, even at this level. With my reach weapon, I could certainly take advantage of it.

It's not really something you get to fight, but my favorite nasty is Xhamen-Dor. The PCs in my Strange Aeons game are so screwed. Just knowing Xhamen-Dor exists is enough for him to inhabit and take over your mind like a virus. At this stage they are blissfully ignorant ;)

Heh. My tabletop group has played a lot of APs. And we've noticed that there's always a dragon, and always a swarm. If Zek is planning on holding true to AP conventions, then we'll see ourselves a dragon. And a swarm. And lots of undead.

As for what I might like to see, hmm. Giants are fun; big sacks of hit points to trade blows with. Also, hordes of lesser CR foes that make up a challenge by sheer weight of numbers. Lets the blasty casters show off a bit by decimating huge swaths of enemies.

Pathfinder is bad at having small things add up. Usually they just can't hit you.

At our level swarms aren't as huge a deal, not with Talivar and Talia around.

Depends on the swarm. I'll never forget the time I was running an AP where the printed out encounters could nary make the party sweat, but a random encounter of a tick swarm nearly did the party in.

And don't forget my swarmbane clasp. We're prepped for swarms!

No worries. In-character, you would have seen the effects of Talia's spell before running in, so you would have known to avoid it. That's one of the disadvantages of pbp games, I suppose.

Thank you, Talivar. I actually have that chart in the other campaign I GM's map slides. I'll add it to this one as well. Unfortunately, it won't help with 40-ft radius effects, but most others should definitely work with that.
