DM Luke |

Yod crouches against the bramble wall in a deep shadow. Make a Move Silently check as well please.
Eberk and Cha both see the source of the firelight come into view. A wrinkled old goblin with stringy white hair and a twisted whiff of beard hops into view in the tunnel next to the cat. The shriveled monster wears leathers and a ludicrously long green cloak that drags along the ground behind him. He's pierced in dozens of spots and practically covered in little fetishes of bone and feather.
In one hand he holds a blade made of fire. The other hand he holds palm up in front of him. Above his palm is a tiny dancing fire. He points with his sword hand at Cha and the ball leaps from his palm and splashes against the Shoanti's chest causing instant blistering. Nine hit points of damage. Map's updated.
Cha's turn.

DM Luke |

The cougar crouches at the shaman's feet, plainly waiting to defend its master should anyone approach. Another dancing flame pops into existence in the shaman's palm.
Sari's turn.

Sari |

Sari moves to 38, 18 and flings some magic missiles towards the shaman.
I roll a 4 +1 and a 3+1 for a total of 9 points of damage. I have 13 spell points left.
"What is it with you outdoors types that just have to have all these stinky animals around? Don't you realize that you are stinky enough as it is?"

DM Luke |

Sari's missiles fly true, striking the shaman in his scrawny chest and sending bits of fetishes flying everywhere. He fixes her with his bloodshot gaze and spits at her.
Behind Cha, Shal is now framed in the tunnel entrance. She calls in to the druid. "We're about to have company!"
Yod's turn. Map update shortly.

DM Luke |

I updated it last night. Is there something on the map that's not right?

DM Luke |

The map still reflects what the party can see, and there are no goblins there. That includes Ishah's field of vision.
Shal crouches in the shadow's by the tunnel entrance, arrow fitted and bow bent. Her attention is to the west and north, back towards that big hole in the ground.
A sudden roar fills the evening air, making her flinch. The sound echoes and seems to come from outside beyond Shal.
Cha, make a knowledge(nature) check.
Still Yod's go.

DM Luke |

spoiler for Cha

DM Luke |

No surprise, but you do land a blow.
The cat screeches as the heavy head of Yod's morningstar rips away a substantial patch of crimson fur. The shaman screams its hate at Yod as it aims its next flaming ball his way.
Ranged touch attack hits. 5 points of fire damage.
The shaman begins to slowly back down the tunnel as the little ball streaks in to smack Yod in the shoulder. Again, the little spark is replaced by another of its kind in the shaman's palm.
The updated initiative order is...
Yod 23
Shaman 18
Ishah 13
Cha 7
Cougar 6++
Sari 6+
Eberk 6
Shal 4
Ishah squeezes by Shal to take a position next to Cha and Sari.
Cha's turn.

DM Luke |

The wounded cat leaps at Yod and mauls him. It's teeth sink into the burned shoulder causing the thief to cry out in pain. Its claws rip into the half-orc's back. Yod drops to the ground and is unconscious. The cat crouches on his inate form, wary of all the other enemies in its immediate range.
Bite deals 7 pts of damage. 2 more claw strikes do 6 more. I think that puts Yod at -1 and dying. The DMs red d20 is smoking hot.
Speaking of hot, it's Sari's turn.

Sari |

Sari takes a step up (39, 18) and casts yet another magic missile barrage at the shaman.
She rolls a 3 & 2 for a total of 7 points of damage. She intends to fish around in her bag for a healing potion to dump down Yod's throat when the kitty isn't looking, or is occupied elsewhere. She has 9 spell points left.

DM Luke |

Sari's missiles hit the shaman in the jaw, knocking off his headdress and bloodying his nose.
Sari pulls out the potion as a move action.
Eberk swing his axe in an arc that nearly lops off the big cat's head. Its blood covers Yod's legs.
There's a hoarse shout outside as goblins sight Shalelu. Her bow sings out, followed by a wail of agony. She ducks into the tunnel mouth and draws her shortsword.
Yod needs to roll d10 to bleed. A 1 stabilizes.
The shaman fires another flame ball, this time at the dwarf. It hits squarely, scorching his face and shriveling a section of his beard. 7 points of fire damage. It then steps into the brambles and walks through them unhindered.
Cha's turn. The map will be updated shortly.

DM Luke |

Yod, the healing magic of nature infuses you, undoes the critical damage, and restores you to consciousness though not without aches. You're still covered in the hives you got from the dog bite, and now you've bathed in cougar blood. By my count, you now have 9 hps.
Updated order is...
Yod 23
Shaman (?) 18
Cha 7
Ishah 7-
Sari 6++
Shal 6+
goblins 6
Eberk 6-
BTW, Ishah delayed until after Cha (makes translating commands to actions easier).
Cha, you can give her a command as a free action. In the meantime, Sari's turn.

DM Luke |

Shal crouches down behind the brambles, concealing herself so that the first goblin that comes charging in never sees the blade that kills him. She fails to pull her blade out of the first goblin's neck in time to parry a blow from the next, however, and pays with a cut across her ribs and leather breastplate that draws elf blood.
Yod's turn.

DM Luke |

Crap! I did skip Eberk. Please give your stout dwarven wife my apologies!
And no, there is no save for produce flame. He has to hit with a ranged touch attack and the red d20 is currently rolling nothing lower than 16.

DM Luke |

Eberk shoulders Shal out of the hole hitting the lead goblin like a thunderclap. It is cleft in twain.
Beyond the crowd of goblins pressing the tunnel entrance, Eberk sees the shaman emerge from the brambles into the clearing. It completes the motions of a spell and visibly heals.
Cha's turn.

DM Luke |

Cha, he can walk right through the bramble walls, just like you can. Meaning he's probably a druid. There's no way through to the other side for anyone but you (other than busting out a chainsaw and cutting down some vegetation). I'm not sure if you understood that ability, so I'll give you a chance to redo your turn.

DM Luke |

Ishah ignores whatever her last command might have been and assumes heel behind Cha. She pauses at the brambles edge for just a moment, then plunges in. I'm ruling that as a small animal, she can pass through these brambles by squeezing.
Cha ducks through the tangle and passes along after the shaman. Spots of blood mark his path through the vine wall and back into the clearing with the hole in the ground. Back behind the goblins that are attacking the party.
Sari's turn.

DM Luke |

Sari's missiles pound the little monster, sending its corpse flying to land at the shaman's feet. The goblins in the second wave hesitate at the sight of their annihilated kin.
The shaman stomps his foot emphatically and screams at them - a string of completely unintelligible goblindegook.
At his words, the other goblins seem to shift into some new gear of insanity - some are mad, others laughing or even crying, all of them surging forward to attack.
Shal shakes off the cut she took, and in one swift motion sheathes her long knife and draws and nocks an arrow. She waits for an opening, then fires a shot over Eberk's head and into the shoulder of the nearest goblin (36,16). It's a glancing blow, but it makes the creature squeak in pain.
She 5-foot steps to (37,18).
Shal calls out, "He said something like... 'the bird-crunchers bear father-shame' and 'the mother brings blood-honor to your feet.' Then he demanded they attack."
The wounded goblin and another each take clumsy hacks, easily turned away by axe and shield. The other monsters mass behind them with the shaman behind them all, urging them on and mumbling.
Eberk's turn. Map updated.

DM Luke |

Yod, as things stand right now you could get to (38,17) with one move action and attack the dude in (37,17) at a penalty for the orange area. Pending the Goblin-Mower's action, of course.

DM Luke |

Both enemies fall under the heavy blows of Eberk's waraxe. Rather than falter, however, the remaining goblins begin to hum an almost cheerful tune as they wade into the fray.
Yod's turn.

DM Luke |

You can Ready an action as long as you have that entire action you're readying left in your turn. So Yod's movement is possible in one move action, leaving your standard action as a single attack you can Ready. You can only attack square (37,16) from the square you've moved to, and they'll get cover against you, but you also benefit from that cover so it comes out in the wash.
Satisfied with the effect of his words on the other goblins, the shaman pulls out a stiff twisted root with a scorched end, waves it around once in a small circle then with a command word makes another of the little dancing balls appear in his hand. He looks up with glee in his eyes, seeking a target.
It's Cha's turn.

DM Luke |

Cha, I'm not sure what you meant by your move. If you meant to be directly 'behind' the other goblins and attack the shaman, then that would be (37,14), and you'd actually need to go one more square to (36,14), as he is in (35,14). (Maybe your browser cached the old map, before he moved?)
Anyway, doing that would provoke AoOs from every goblin from (38,15) to (36,15), so I doubt that's what you meant. Of course you're free to stick to the briars since they don't hinder you, and you could make it all the way to (36,13) and still get your scimitar attack off.
As far as Ishah is concerned, check out my post about 5 up from here where I ruled on Ishah's movement in the briars. She'll probably have to take a double move just to keep up with you.
