Cha, that hall also ends in another closed door. Make a spot check, please.

As Cha passes by the leathery wings, he notices that one of the daggers pinning the wings to the wall has a fat pearl in its pommel.
Yod creeps up the wooden flight into daylight. When his head-level crests the floor of the watchtower, the sound of soft snoring draws his attention to two goblins, asleep at their post. Each leans on a heavy, wet sack that smells strongly of vinegar and they are surrounded by half-eaten pickles.
They are completely oblivious to the hulking half-orc approaching.

So I'll Take out the two goblins, Do I need to roll an attack? I guess don't roll a 1
I'll switch to my dagger to keep the bone crunching noise down.
1st Goblin Atk 20+8=28 Nice I'll be wanting that later no doubt
Confirm 2+8+?=? I'm not sure what the + would be for sleeping prone victims
Damage 1+5=6 and 2+5=7 and Sneak 4+4=8 total 21 If I confirmed if not then 14.
So do I have to wait to see if I woke the 2nd one I'll roll on him now just in case I didn't wake him
Atk 18+8=26, Damage 2+5=7 and sneak if i get it 1+6=7

Yod, check this out...
Helpless Defenders
A helpless opponent is someone who is bound, sleeping, paralyzed, unconscious, or otherwise at your mercy.
Regular Attack
A helpless character takes a -4 penalty to AC against melee attacks, but no penalty to AC against ranged attacks.
A helpless defender can’t use any Dexterity bonus to AC. In fact, his Dexterity score is treated as if it were 0 and his Dexterity modifier to AC as if it were -5 (and a rogue can sneak attack him).
Coup de Grace
As a full-round action, you can use a melee weapon to deliver a coup de grace to a helpless opponent. You can also use a bow or crossbow, provided you are adjacent to the target.
You automatically hit and score a critical hit. If the defender survives the damage, he must make a Fortitude save (DC 10 + damage dealt) or die. A rogue also gets her extra sneak attack damage against a helpless opponent when delivering a coup de grace.
Delivering a coup de grace provokes attacks of opportunity from threatening opponents.
You can’t deliver a coup de grace against a creature that is immune to critical hits. You can deliver a coup de grace against a creature with total concealment, but doing this requires two consecutive full-round actions (one to "find" the creature once you’ve determined what square it’s in, and one to deliver the coup de grace).
Yod Akarn
So I guess I Coup de Grace the one and hope the other doesn't wake up, then get the other next round. With a critical and sneak attack even if I roll all ones that would still be 14 pts damage probably enough to kill a goblin
I'm sure the DM will let me know if the second goblin wakes
DM Luke
Oui. The Coup de Grace is what you want. These beasties are in a state described as a 'food coma'. I can't improve on that. In any event, they do not wake up and Yod murders them. They die with their pickles in their hands.
The wide, open-air windows in this top room of the watchtower offer views back toward the mainland, out over the waters of the Gulf, and over the roof of the stockade. Yod notices an enclosed, open-air courtyard just to the north that he can look right down into if he chooses (with hide and spot rolls if he's trying to be sneaky).
DM Luke
A quick glance over the window frame shows you a courtyard of mud, weeds, and goblin-dog holes. Reclining in the slop are several more of the dogs.
Map updated.
Glances in the other directions show the bridge and a great view of the sea cave that undercuts the cliffs.
DM Luke
Cha hears nothing discernible at the door.
Yod, what do you mean by checking the door? It is unlocked, but a search for traps requires an actual search skill roll.
DM Luke
Yod pushes the door open softly and looks around. As you suspected, this is the base of the other watchtower, with an identical spiral staircase. This one seems a bit larger. There's another closed door on the left wall as Yod enters.
As Yod stands there giving the room a careful look he hears something clattering faintly on the boards above his head. Then a squeaky falsetto voice speaks in the sharp goblin language and makes a sound like a cat laughing.
Yod Akarn
I head back to the group and tell them what I heard.
So I'd like to take someone stealthy up the stairs with me I don't think neon Cha or clanky Eberk will do. Can I take Shal? Do I know how stealthy she is since I can't look at ther character sheet?
Oh BTW can anyone read the scrawling on the boarded up door in the other room?
DM Luke
From your experience with Shal you know that she possesses the skills of an accomplished hunter. (+6 Move Silently). She's game for going up there with you. She draws her knife and sneaks back to the door with Yod.
DM Luke
Yod, you need to make new rolls.
Condolences to Missy, whose granny passed away. We can hold up here until our dwarven friend returns to the fold.

I think Timmy T may have earned another bronze statue with the two 4th quarter tds vs bama. Both of which were awesome catches if you look back at the replays. This team has amazing athletes all over the field. Since Houston Nutt, every opposing coach has come away from their meeting with the Gators looking stunned.

For Luke
Chuck's going to be knocking on your door if you keep ignoring his post and answering mine...hahahaha. Willed to me...if it keeps it, I think it's coming our way. Her kids are Michigan fans and he really doesn't like Kyle all that much. It's a very cool thing. Word on the street says it might be worth somewhere in the range of $5,000. If he wins the Heisman and they win the National Championship game, well, who knows.

I go away for a week, and come home to "pickle" talk. Nice boys, nice...
I'm not much help in this situation, so I try to stay out of everyone's way. I have my short spear out, ready to make little goblin kabobs out of any that get by the men-folk.
BTW, Chris, we got your box for the kids. We might be coming up after Christmas. Will ya'll be around?
Cha tuk
Glad you got the box. Might be the first year we got them there before the big day. Friday after Xmas, Lori goes shopping and I'm going fishing. Saturday, we have to do Christmas with my family. We'll be back in town that afternoon and Sunday. Let me know when/if you're coming and we'll try and find a way to get together.
DM Luke
Might help keep everyone focused and revenge-motivated? I think he'd rather be MVP of the National Championship game anyway.
Yod
The alert one points at Yod as he comes up the stair and reaches for his crude little halberd, which leans against the wall behind him. The other one stumbles, sending cards, bits of bone, and thin copper pennies clattering across the floor.
Initiative is...
Yod 22
Shal 10
Goblins 8
Yod's move. First full round of combat.
DM Luke
Yod
Shal moves swiftly against the other creature who struggles to gain his feet and his weapon. She stabs twice at the monster but never draws blood (Missed with her attack and an AoO when the goblin stands).
Everyone else
DM Luke
Yod
Shal drives her sword into the remaining goblin's thigh spilling its dark blood all over the scattered cards. It swings its weapon around in a clumsy gesture trying unsuccessfully to keep the darting ranger at bay. It begins shouting for all its worth, some gibberish in goblin-speak.
It's your turn again, but I need responses from the others before you go.
SEC!SEC!SEC! (Sari Eberk Cha)
A screaming goblin voice begins calling out from upstairs. The door between Cha and Eberk swings open and a goblin sticks his head out.
Initiative please.
