Vyviane gives the skreebara a glower as it tries to chomp her head off and instead slices a good chunk of her new firery colored hair off instead. A pounding headache from the sonic sounds that the thing gave off, she takes a step back and tries to shoot it normally, no tricky-ness involved. "I liked this hair thank-you very much!"

Dex fires a shot at the new bug creature but it seems to be absorbed into the thick natural armor exoskeleton of the bug. Friye has better luck with her pulse caster pistol as she seems to shock the thing.

Vyviane fires off her semi-auto pistol and hits but only connects to its leg and doesn't hurt much. When suddenly the bug lets out a high pitch screech as it feels as it's own mind is attacking it!

A.N.D.R.E.A.'s calibrations seems to be on point as Ak is able to land a decent blow to the injured creature. Lastly, Alzandre starts to move toward the crashed ship.

The skreebara takes another step forward, closer to the sun-touched Vyviane and tries to take a bit more than her hair this time. It succeeds in it's goal as it takes a big chunk of meat from Vyviane's side, causing her to fall over unconscious. 9 points of damage (1 point is sonic damage)

Everyone is up. Sorry Vyviane, I don't mean to pick on you! Also, just a reminder to everyone, please try to remember to include if you attack at EAC or KAC in your post or at the very least state what weapon you are using.

Sorry wasn't in front of a computer for much of today!

Vyviane gives a shout at Alzandre to keep running before turning back just in time to see the Skreebara snap out and clamp on to her. She gives a gurgle and then goes limp.

After a few moments of nothing, she finds herself enjoying a lovely moment with the warm sand on her back and the sun shining on her face, and forgetting where she is, just enjoys the pleasant sensations of the moment.

This time aground Dex has much better luck! His laser burns a hole right through the creatures exoskeleton burning it! He then encourages the whole group to fight this thing.

Friye manages to shock the sand a little bit, but Kitty lands a laser right where Dex just did hurting it even more!

Ak goes a bit more of a reckless route than we have seen of him as he takes less time to aim and just shoots off two shots against the enemy. The method seems to work out for as the first shot hits the bug but can't break though the exoskeleton. The second shot hits right on and causes more pain in the injured enemy.

Alzandre keeps his run to the crashed space ship. He is getting close! Next round, I will let you take a shot with the gun. It will be the same as a typical gun (dex + BAB) and functions like a Tactical X-gen gun (i.e. 1d12 damage).

Buscador uses his magic to bring Vyviane back from the brink of death but she is enjoying the nap.

The bug hisses loudly as it is clearly in rough shape! It then moves to let out a blast of sonic energy hurting both Dex and Ak. 12 sonic damage save for half (dc 12 reflex)

Still dealing with the effects of the storm, Buscador almost makes it to where they can guard Vyviane, hardening their skin as they move.

Swift action - Early Stage Adaptation, +1 racial bonus to AC for one round. Use again: 1d4 ⇒ 3 rounds.

They then lash out with another mind thrust.

The X-Gen gun blasts right through the protective layer around the bug, hurting it badly. Followed by another shot from Dex. He has been on point with his laser gun all fight as he finds yet another hole in the exoskeleton and encourages everyone to use it. What is even more impressive is that he does it while dodging the worst of the sonic blast.

Friye finds the weak point that Dex was talking about and punctures gives the enemy a bit of a shock. He is clearly barely alive after the shock. Kitty has the chance to finish the bug off but hits the sand instead.

Buscador thrusts his mind into the Skreebara and it screeches in pain loudly, also to the point that it hurts. At the peak of it's screech, the head suddenly explodes in bug goo, covering everyone around it, but the Skreebara is dead!

Sorry for not getting a post in earlier!

Vyviane gives a slight squirm as the skrebara unleashes it's first screech, the loud sound inturrupting her nap. It's death screech, though, brings her up and out of the nap screaming. "GODS DAMMIT! WHO'S making that god-awful RACKET? I'm trying to sleep!"

Spending a RP point to get back into the fight... as it finishes.

She then finally realizes where she is and what she had been doing, and her face blushes a shade of red that almost matches her hair... "Ooops, I guess I had been nappingon the job." She tries to stand up but falters for a second, not quite cognisant of how bad her wounds are. She drags her self to the rock face and gives everyone a look. "I'm not feeling so good, so I'm just going to take a moment and finish my nap. Kay? Great! Night."

10 minutes plus a second RP to regain SP

She wakes up a few minutes later, giving a strech and a big yawn. "Alright, I feel a lot better now... Wait my wounds are healed, Buscador did you do something while I was out?"

Thanking the Barathian, she takes a second to look about the place, before pointing out the ship reckage. "Anybody scout out hte ship yet? WE shoutl definitely look through their computers, see if there's anybodies we need to bury, and possibly haul that cannon back? I know Fitz would LOVE gatting that back if it's in good condition. Well, what are we waiting for? Chop Chop. Let's get out of here so my hair can go back to being long!"

Buscador checks the dead bug to see if there is anything worth scavenging from it. After that they join in searching the ship for our missing Starfinders and their data.

Buscador searches and realizes that the tough, overlapping crystals that make up the skreebara’s carapace are valuable. He would guess that they would sell for around 800 credits back home.

Fryie is easily able to get the gun off the mount, but it seems to be a bit damaged. Without a proper repair, it can not be reloaded leaving it with 9 shots left. It should be worth 212 credits.

Once you start investigating the wreckage of the ship, it is plain to see that this ship is beyond the point of field repairs. You do find seven dead bodies, presumably some of the Starfinder crew.

There is something to notice with a dc 15 perception check or piloting check. Feel free to make the rolls. No aiding on this one.

Nothing else of value remains in the wreck. The computer is in rough shape but Ak is able to look at it and learn that there is just enough power for some minor functions. He puts together that if the Insignias that you were given back on the station are plugged in to the computer, you might be able to get some info from it.

Once the insignia is in place, the computer flares to life just enough to display a datafile of worlds previously explored by crew of the Unbounded Wayfarer. They include:
• A wasteland planet called Elytrio that displayed signs of scattered technology.
• A sentient asteroid called Lamentia teeming with morlock “children” in the Vast.
• A massive space station called End of Bright Things stuck between the orbits of two blue dwarf stars.
• A stormy, oceanic world called Wealdriad, with upthrust columns of basalt piercing the storm-tossed ocean’s surface.

There seems to be one last set of coordinates but the computer is too damaged to determine what those are. Anyone who has a computer can download this file on to their device. It can also be stored on the insignias.

The last function of the computer that you find is it opens a hidden door on the ship. It only has a single item in it; a iridescent spindle aeon stone.

Fryie and Alzandre recognizes characteristic impact marks of heavy metallic slugs, such as those used in coilguns or railguns on starships. The damage on the ship’s hull indicates that it tried to dodge the strafing fire but darted the wrong way. That marks the final clue for your chronicle sheet. Each of the 4 gives some advantage in the final fight.

After being sure that they gathered everything there is to gather on the ship, you takes the bodies of the starfinders back to your ship. The trip back to your ship is uneventful.

The crew gets ready to head back home. Alzandre prepares for the return flight through the asteroids. Once he gets off of the planet, a warning klaxon blares, and the ship lurches. The asteroid field around the world of Ulmarid is more agitated than on the descent down to the surface. Although it’s not clear what has caused the anomalous activity, what’s certain is that you must reach safer altitude before a more serious collision occurs.

I need a piloting check here. It can be aided by the captain (Dex) with DC 10 Piloting check or a DC 17 Diplomacy or Intimidate check, and aided by science officer (Friye) with a DC 15 Computers check .

Well you crushed that roll haha! It was a tricky one, dc 20. If you failed, it would deal 3d4 damage to your shields!

Dex and Friye help Alzandre navigate the tricky asteroid field, though it turns out Alzandre is a pro at dodging the asteroids! He makes it look easy as he effortlessly moves between the rocks.

Just as  the he pilots the Odyssey out of the asteroid field, A large vessel of rusted metal slips from behind an enormous asteroid, its weapons already firing. The front of the ship resembles a stylized skull with crossed bones beneath—a clear indication of space pirates!

Dc 12 Culture:

You recognize that Besmara is the goddess of piracy, space monsters, and strife. You also recognize that Besmaran space pirates are a growing threat throughout galactic shipping lanes, and that such pirates throw themselves into combat with a boisterous zeal—it is rare to talk one’s way out of combat with an approaching Besmaran pirate ship.

This combat occurs around clusters of asteroids. These asteroids are sufficiently slow-moving that, for the duration of the starship combat, they are effectively stationary on the map. Clusters of asteroids block a starship’s line of fire, so the ships can maneuver around the asteroids for cover from enemy fire. A starship that crosses into a hex containing an asteroid takes 4d6 damage to a random facing (maximum once per turn), but can continue moving as normal.

Map has been been posted as well as your ships stat block. Notice that the ship you are using is a tier 4 ship so dc's are a bit harder. Tomorrow at some point, I will fix the spaceship combat page to show the right dc's. For now, if it is 5 + 1.5 the tier it is dc 11. 10 + = 16. 15 + = 21. Also notice that you get 3 + 1s this fight. I would recommend discussing who gets those. Last time, you only had 2 and both went to the gunners.

Throughout this adventure, you have learned much about this enemy which will help you throughout this fight. The four advantages include:

  • Lawblight Assault You can quickly evade and can reposition the Odyssey up to 4 hexes in any direction, with any facing they choose. (See discussion tab for conversation on this one...)
  • Lawblight Barrage the first time one of the Lawblight’s heavy torpedoes would hit the Odyssey, it misses instead.
  • Lawblight Data You have the Lawblight’s basic information, defenses, and weapons, as listed in the first three bullet points of the Scan action; the PCs start the battle with this information.
  • Lawblight Evasion the Lawblight must roll twice for each gunnery check it makes with its coilguns and take the worse result.

The DC equals 5 + 1–1/2 x the tier of the enemy starship + its bonus from defensive countermeasures. If you succeed, choose one system (core, engines, life support, sensors, or weapons). The next attack made by your starship that hits the enemy ship scores a critical hit on a natural roll of 19 or 20. If that attack deals critical damage, it affects the chosen system. For any further critical damage resulting from the attack, determine which system is affected randomly as normal.

As soon as the ship breaks the atmosphere, Vyviane's face and hair turn back to 'normal.' The hair returning to it's long length and bushyness with the deep brown coloring. She reattaches her hoop earrings and then gives a smile at her reflection. Glad to have her hair back. Sadly she completely misses the asteroid field and even Captain Dex's encouragement.

Alzandre is ready for this fight based on the description from the ghoul and is able to quickly recover from the surprise. He whips around and gets close to the enemy ship.

Ak quickly gets back into the role of being an engineer and boosts the ships weapons.

Friye is able to lock the computers on to the enemy weapons, hoping to mess them up before they mess you up.

Lastly, Captain Dex attempts to encourage Vyviane but she is a busy with her wardrobe change and misses what Dex had to say.

The enemy ship attempts to hit you with their coilgun on a turret but Alzandre is able to evade it using the information he got from the crashed starfinder ship.
