Abandoned Arts RPG Superstar Season 9 Top 32 |

Welcome, all. If you're here, you know the drill: EVERYONE here on the Paizo forums is welcome to play this campaign. There are only four PCs, but the forums as a whole (if you're reading this: that means you!) will decide what our heroes will do by group vote and/or consensus.
This is where we'll discuss what actions to take next.
A few things to remember:
1.) A "+1" to a suggestion that you like (with or without stipulations, tweaks, or contingencies) is more likely to achieve a group decision than a whole bunch of conflicting individual ideas.
2.) You don't have to provide dialogue, but you can if you want to. If you think Maraerys should say "Go jump in a lake, Teberus," you can say so if you like. But! If you're not good with dialogue, you're just as well off saying "I think Maraerys should give Teberus some sass." Party banter and dialogue with NPCs will come at your direction (and only at your direction); the GM won't be talking to himself!
3.) Respect the ideas of others. If you don't like them - don't mock them... just don't vote for them! That said...
4.) Try to stay in character. Anneka is curious, but socially-innocent (and ignorant) Zend is a sin mage, but he's Neutral... not Neutral Evil. Get a sense for each character, and contribute ideas that you think are in character. Emphasis on "you think;" we'll all have somewhat different ideas about what each PC is like - that's fine. Encouraged, even.
5.) Don't leave out the boring stuff. If the player-base doesn't tell me what the familiar should do, I won't have it act. If the player-base doesn't tell me to take the total defense when the wizard has no actions to take, then he's not going to. He's going to stand there like an idiot instead. I'm not playing any of these PCs; you are. I will not be making PC decisions! Think of this as a digital RPG - I'm the computer... a very smart computer that can interpret your intentions - but you do have to state those intentions first.
6.) If you're having fun, tell a friend about this thread. This is a game for everyone. Get 'em in here.
Enjoy!

Will use standard PbP posting conventions until instructed otherwise, except adding prefixing with character names. Assuming map has increasing letters left to right and increasing numbers top down, like a spreadsheet.
Taberus should charge. Maerys should drink a defensive extract.
Sorry, but Teberus CAN'T charge the nearest Goblin, because he is already too close to it; Maraerys CAN'T down a defensive extract, because she doesn't have one prepared.
EDIT: Fixed typo where I had Teberus' name in place of Maraerys'.

Abandoned Arts, can you link the character sheets to the Characters page of this campaign?
Also, is Kyrsaku's HP intended to be calculated like a PC, that is, giving maximum HP for first HD instead of using the instructions in Animal Companions?
Anneka: Not sure if I have any allies at hand other than Kyrsaku. (Anneka has not yet met the rest of the party -- even being able to see them, she doesn't know them from other members of the crowd, other than that they have not fled.) These little monsters just murdered that dog! They are few enough in number right now that Kyrsaku and I can probably take them on if no more show up, but who knows how long that is going to last, so we had better hit hard and fast . . . and be ready to run if things go sour, because more probably will show up. I don't have much magic, but now is not the time to be conserving it, especially if more of these things show up, and then I might not even get to use it, or it might be too late. Standard Action: Cast Magic Fang on Kyrsaku. To Kyrsaku: "Kyrsaku, attack!" (points at the nearest Goblin). Attempt to use Knowledge(Local) Untrained to identify the little monsters. Move Action: Draw Sling and Bullet (these need to appear in her Combat Gear) to be ready to shoot a Goblin on the next round, preferably one that is not engaged with Kyrsaku or a crowd member.
Teberus: To the Goblins: "You $#!7%@*3s! I love dogs! Prepare to meet the rapier of Teberus von Goodbrandy!". Knowledge(Local) (+5) to identify the little monsters -- Teberus may even already know of them in general, if not specifically. Oh, oh, they might be setting up a flank -- better get this one on my left, quick. Move Action: Draw Rapier (needs to appear in his Combat Gear, along with his Chain Shirt). 5' Step Action: 5' Step to G16. Standard Action: Attack the Goblin at F15 with his Rapier (+7) (shouldn't this be +6?). Perception (+2): Scan for more Goblins -- smells like a trap.
Maraerys: "Of all the . . ." Insane pests! Okay, we got this, but watch out for more trouble. Crowd is panicked -- no need to cause more alarm by going big just yet. Knowledge(Local) +7 + Inspiration (0 point cist) to identify Goblins (might even be able to identify the tribe). Perception +9 + Inspiration (1 point cost) to scan for more Goblins and/or their allies and/or masters, including possible inside job allies within the crowd. Move action: Draw Longspear. 5' Step Action: 5' Step to I14. "Teberus! Back up a bit towards me!" Not that that brash fool is likely to do it . . . . Now this Goblin to my right has let its hatred of canines blind it to other threats -- perhaps I can use this to the advantage of all by concentrating my attack on it as well, thus eliminating it quickly to reduce enemy numbers so that we can deal with the nearly inevitable reinforcements the Goblins will have incoming. Standard Action: Attack the Goblin at K14 with her Longspear (+2).
Kyrsaku: Standard Action: Eagerly attacks the nearest goblin (at K14) with a ferocious bite (buffed by Magic Fang if the rest of the community is in agreement). Move Action (conditional): If the first attack takes out a Goblin, move up to engage the next nearest one (at K12).
Zend: (Confused by people bumping into him all of a sudden) "Huh? What? Oof!"
Shnoo-Shnoo: Festivities? Foooooooooood . . . huh?

^Instructions said for us to post things that are intended to go into Gameplay in Discussion. Not necessarily in the detail that I did, but I tend to get carried away . . . Although I'm not THAT much of a murderhobo.
In this campaign, only Abandoned Arts posts final accepted gameplay in the Gameplay sub-thread.

Do you mind if we dot and delete in the gameplay thread? Hard to keep track of otherwise Abandoned Arts?
It might be easier to just use the tabs near the top of this page.
So... am I really down to only two players and only one set of valid suggestions for the first round? : /
Was character creation a more interesting prospect than the gameplay?

Don't give up just yet. Although it may seem unlikely intuitively, it could be just that everyone got hammered by work at the same time, as happened to me these last couple of days.

I guess interest really did drop off. Any thoughts on actually running a traditional PbP?
(Also, strangely, my post trying to encourage sticking it out for a while longer in between then and now disappeared from here even though it is still in the posts accessible from my profile. Weird.)
