A quick refresher on what we're working on:
Final Party Adjustments:
1.) Anneka Oranti is in no way proficient with the shortbow given her current build. What weaponry shall Anneka opt for? Alternately, are we willing to settle for the shortbow's non-proficiency penalty?
2.) With regards to scrolls and potions, how many of each are we purchasing pre-campaign, and who will be purchasing each? After all non-potion-or-scroll related expenses, budgets look like this:
Anneka Oranti: 86 gp
Teberus von Goodbrandy: 171 gp
Maraerys Starlight: 35 gp
Zend Haraku: 89 gp
3.) Anneka Oranti's wolf companion needs the following:
a.) A name;
b.) 1 feat allocation (companion-eligible choices only); and
c.) 2 skill point allocations.
I'll give you guys through Wednesday to nail these last party details down, then update Wednesday night or Thursday afternoon.

Actually, I did mean the riding dog - the wolf deserves a name on par with that of the donkey. I figure it's unlikely that the swashbuckler named the dog, and so when the party becomes a party/they begin adventuring together, Anneka will name all of the animals in the party (or at least, those that don't already have names).

Alrighty. Here are the finished stat blocks for Anneka, Teberus, Zend, and Maraerys, including all assorted companions and familiars, prepared spells, and gear.
Some notes on gear and companions:
Most of these guys are at a medium or heavy load; you may see relevant penalties bringing certain skills down. More on that in a second.
No suggestions were made for a name for Anneka's wolf, so I selected a default male name - Kyrsaku - from the kitsune page. If you want to change it, reach a consensus quick!
After purchasing the riding dog, Rubert (which consensus seemed strongly in favor of), Teberus did not have enough gold left for potions or scrolls.
I purchased thieves' tools for Maraerys, so that she could use Disable Device without penalty.
Zend purchased a scroll of infernal healing, but no other scrolls (since no one specified which new spells Zend might be most eager to add). Shall we scribe the scroll pre-campaign? Or are we hanging on to it, just in case? Zend (having the most gold and being the most lazy) did also purchase a mule, which should solve most or all of our encumbrance problems. I'd like you guys to decide what gear will go on the mule - right now, it's all on the characters themselves. This may depend in part on how well the PCs know each other (see below).
Also note and remember that both Zend and Maraerys have one spell/extract slot open each.
What's next:
Sometime tomorrow, I'll be publishing the first post in our GAMEPLAY THREAD! If you've never played RotRL before, glance over the Player's Guide. Short version: you're in Sandpoint. There's a festival on.
Until then, some things to discuss. I'll be bearing your consensus on the following in mind when I author the first post:
1.) What is each PC doing in Sandpoint? Some things we know already:
We know that - above and beyond her dedication to the Green Faith - Anneka is a student of faith and the gods, no doubt attracted to the Sandpoint Cathedral. We know that Teberus is a thrill-seeker, and probably a bit of a rake. We know that Zend is lazy, but deeply vested in Thassalonian lore and sin magic, to the point of practicing some version of it (likely cobbled together from his own notes and research, or that of a mentor's). We also know that Maraerys is both an investigator and a mercantile adventurer.
2.) How well (if at all) do the PCs know one another? Are some of them traveling together already? Have they met during the festival? Are any of them standing or walking together through the crowds, during Sandpoint's Swallowtail Festival? And lastly;
3.) Do we want to put any final spin(s) on character traits or personalities? For example...
How interested is Zend in the "sin" of sloth as a concept or lifestyle? Is it just a means to the magic, or does the magic serve his already-lazy lifestyle? Schnoo-Schnoo is gluttonous and lazy (and true neutral), but what sort of gluttonous? Does he only eat fine food? Or will he chew on goblin bones, if they're just going to waste, laying on the ground? Apart from being a thrill-seeker, what's Teberus' personality like? Reserved and kind-hearted? Brash and lecherous? Is Maraerys the suspicious, wary sort? Or more of a "pretend to be your best buddy while I snoop all up in your business" kind of investigator? How about Anneko? Does she wear a human guise by default? Does anyone know she's a kitsune at all? What does she think of humans, and other less-magical races? Are any of our PCs shy? Smart-assed? Brooding? Talkative? Sexist? What about family situations? Any important relatives or backstory thoughts?
Contribute your ideas, and don't forget that a simple "+1" for an existing idea is more likely to achieve group consensus than an equal number of conflicting ideas. Play off of one another!
(And don't forget to give some thought to our encumbrance situation. It's a problem.)
See you tomorrow!

Due to having to get up early, I can't answer as much as I would like, but I have to note a few things for now:
Alrighty. Here are the finished stat blocks for Anneka, Teberus, Zend, and Maraerys, including all assorted companions and familiars, prepared spells, and gear.
Can't find Zend's spellbook or Maraerys's formula book, or the spells/extracts in these.
Not being familiar with Kitsune culture, but seeing that the Kitsune page lists Tian-sounding names, this sounds as good to me as any.
After purchasing the riding dog, Rubert (which consensus seemed strongly in favor of), Teberus did not have enough gold left for potions or scrolls.
I purchased thieves' tools for Maraerys, so that she could use Disable Device without penalty.
Zend purchased a scroll of infernal healing, but no other scrolls (since no one specified which new spells Zend might be most eager to add). {. . .}
I highly recommend getting Protection from Evil (partly as counterpoint to the Infernal Healing, and both have real practical value if he can hang onto them long enough to scribe them into his spellbook).
Also note and remember that both Zend and Maraerys have one spell/extract slot open each.
Need to see their spellbook/formulabook before I can decide this.
What's next:
{. . .}
1.) What is each PC doing in Sandpoint? {. . .}
The stuff you said sounds good so far . . . .
2.) How well (if at all) do the PCs know one another? Are some of them traveling together already? Have they met during the festival? Are any of them standing or walking together through the crowds, during Sandpoint's Swallowtail Festival? {. . .}
I don't see a compelling reason or mechanism for any of them to know each other at the start, but if somebody comes up with something good for this, go right ahead.
3.) Do we want to put any final spin(s) on character traits or personalities? For example...
How interested is Zend in the "sin" of sloth as a concept or lifestyle? Is it just a means to the magic, or does the magic serve his already-lazy lifestyle?
For a true Thassilonian specialist, the two go hand-in-hand, and feed each other. Zend's accursed nature (and relevant Story Feat) indicates that something has gotten out of hand in this cycle, though.
Schnoo-Schnoo is gluttonous and lazy (and true neutral), but what sort of gluttonous? Does he only eat fine food? Or will he chew on goblin bones, if they're just going to waste, laying on the ground?
Again, think of Garfield: A curious mix of indiscriminate gluttony and pickiness. I love the concept that Jon (Garfield's owner) hates: NOT a vegetarian (to the grief of various fish, birds, and Jon himself), but won't eat rodents, and in fact makes friends with them (also much to Jon's displeasure).
Apart from being a thrill-seeker, what's Teberus' personality like? Reserved and kind-hearted? Brash and lecherous?
Definitely NOT reserved, after all else we've come up with for his personality. Has a good spot in his heart, but often feels he has to hide it under his brashness.
Is Maraerys the suspicious, wary sort? Or more of a "pretend to be your best buddy while I snoop all up in your business" kind of investigator?
Dana Scully with an MBA. Definitely the suspicious, wary sort.
How about Anneko? Does she wear a human guise by default? Does anyone know she's a kitsune at all? What does she think of humans, and other less-magical races?
Often wears a human-like guise for survival purposes, but tends to forget it when she gets excited. Has no hostility towards the other Humanoids, but has a curious mix of wariness (due to persecution) and naivete (due to being able to hide out in the wild to avoid persecution). Likewise, has a curious mix of shyness and outgoingness.
Are any of our PCs shy? Smart-assed? Brooding? Talkative? Sexist? What about family situations? Any important relatives or backstory thoughts?
Teberus von Goodbrandy would definitely incline towards shooting his mouth off, both opportunely and inopportunely. Not intending to be sexist, but certainly might say something inappropriate due to not thinking it through.
Anneka is probably isolated from her family by geography, although she probably knows of them (although not having up to date news, and having to correspond by infrequent and slow-moving letters).
Teberus von Goodbrandy is probably estranged from his family, being the rake that he is -- might have even been kicked out of the house "until he shapes up". Likewise with Zend, although for being a lazy bum rather than for being a rake. (This would give them a potential issue to bond over, that they would not have otherwise.)
Maraerys we alreay know has merchant family around, and is probably in frequent contact with them, likely not even needing to write letters to communicate with them unless taking a trip to Magnimar or some place like that.

^+1 on that, but I'll add that Teberus has been studiously avoiding Maraerys ever since getting into the caravan and finding out that she's an Investigator, which only makes her grow even more suspicious of him . . . .
Also +1 on what Azih said earlier about Maraerys wanting to scope out new business opportunities at the Festival.

+1 to both Teberus and Maraerys interactions.

(Teberus)
Now as to why Teberus would be traveling away from home?
Has a smart mouth, needs to prove himself to the bigger world? Has a tendency to compensate for his height with aggressive insults and verbal assaults? And where did he come from and what motivates him to leave?
"In [west Philadelphia] born and raised
On the playground was where I spent most of my days
Chillin' out maxin' relaxin' all cool
And all shootin some b-ball outside of the school
When a couple of guys who were up to no good
Started making trouble in my neighborhood
I got in one little fight and my mom got scared
She said 'You're movin' with your auntie and uncle in [Bel Air]'"
Thoughts?
---
(Maraerys)
~Quick check, the survey on post #164 dictated that Maraerys was to be a LN alignment, while the bio page lists her as NG. Which one was she again?~
She sounds like the no nonsense, truthful, and frank person. A speaker who does not appreciate time wasted, as time is the one commodity that is never gained back. If she is presented with an undesirable situation (or person), I imagine her holding a very flat smile and listening to the conversation... until her patience wanes.
This valuing of time can be further emphasized by keeping a militant/disciplined lifestyle, waking at exactly 7am, attending meetings five minutes before the set time, and so forth.
So when she does opt to set aside time to meet with a person, have tea, or participate in recreational activities, she is making a strong statement of claiming that such an action or relation is of great value. Thus she could be greatly peeved when her contact does not respect her meeting hours by arriving late, delaying conversations, and so forth.
---
(Anneka)
If we do not want all of the PC's to enter via caravan, our druid can instead enter Sandpoint from the forest, traveling with her brother figure wolf companion, roaming and scavenging/collecting food.
From this entry, she can meet up with Shalelu or some other ranger, who can give directions to the nearby city that is preparing for a festival. Curiosity leads her to seek out civilization,
"And ready to know what the people know
Ask 'em my questions and get some answers
What's a fire and why does it - what's the word?
Burn?"
---
(Shnoo-Shnoo)
The lazy cat is not amused that he has to leave the house.
Again.
The last time he had to go outside, his master thought it was a good idea for him to get more sunlight.
Well, it was the thought that counted. His master learned.

UnArcaneElection |

+1 on everything JustaGustofWind said, except:
Shnoo-Shnoo is perfectly willing to leave the house as long as Zend serves as a mount and supplies plenty of snacks on the road (the promise of pizza or lasagna works wonders, and this cat seems to have mysteriously reverted the evolutionary change that caused felines to lose their ability to taste sweets);
Teberus' history as above, but add that after getting sent to his aunt and uncle's house (in Magnimar) for a while, he also managed to get himself kicked out of there. He's actually not that bad, and feels hurt (but hides it) that a misunderstanding caused him to lose that home.

Aaaand we're live.
Player-base (if you can read this: that means you): go check out the GAMEPLAY THREAD, and then post your thoughts on the DISCUSSION THREAD.
From now on, the discussion thread is where player deliberation will occur.
The gameplay thread is NOT for players to post in! I know that's an idea that'll take some getting used to.
Enjoy!
