Yea, I know Katapesh is mainly a desert, but I swear from past knowledge of the geography, there are small forests in and around Katapesh.

I'll just change the flavour if not.

Edit: Just looking at a map of the area, Apollo was born in the Evergrowth, and this is where his adoptive family found him, before they later relocated to the Sparadyn Jungle, which is where his entire back story took place.

Currently making considerations, people. Only a few hours remaining until I post.

Crossing fiery fingers...

I await the verdict with monkish breath

which I guess smells like zen and spices?

Nah, monkish breath just doesn't exist. Zen breath-holding ftw.

"Here."

Desmin offers you a 'Fresh Breath For Battle and All Other Occasions' Paladin Mints(tm) mint, fresh from his Paladin's Kit.

I'd take one, but I'm pretty sure my alignment requires that I spontaenously combust and/or vomit uncontrollably.

I'm going to bow out. I don't have any equipment but a dagger in my profile. :/

I think this is the first time I've seen a character get PK'd before the game even starts.

What does PK'd mean?

And that is hilarious

"Player killed"

Upon closer inspection you read on the side of the mint box in small print, 'Warning! specially enhanced with holy water. Do not ingest if undead. May cause pain.'

You know, looking at these characters, ranged combat isn't particularly popular haha.

Well my guy is a cleric that can shoot bolts of fire from his hand within 30 feet (vs. touch AC). That has to count for something.

well I'm in a game in IRL where my ranger can shoot 440 ft. without taking any penalties lol :P

Hey I have a bow and hope to get a high strength rating composite bow eventually. But yea not specialized in it I know.

If you let me switch dex and strength I'll switch to divine hunter archetype :p it could work

Well I kind of tired of going archer, might do a halfling with sling-staff one of these days.

I'm sure magic will fill in for range. Archers aren't my forte.

Still, I'm giddy with excitement as to who gets in~

I'm sure we can survive without it

Wecan. Flanking is great. but seriously the traditional party is kinda overrated. (The strongest party ever:Summoner only, or Paladin Only)

I've also played some ranged types... handy to have, but I want punch punch not pew pew this time :)

I made an Alias!!!!! kindov

There are not very many good pictures for Oreads :(

Well, the deadline has come. This was somehow a more difficult choice with more slots available, but I had to do it, so I did. My decision should not reflect poorly on your character-making skills, because you all did a wonderful job.
And now...-drumroll-

-Keth, the animal-loving earth demihuman!

-Dmitri Mavis, the sadomasochist and ladies' man!

-Apollo Randasian, the Moses-Barbarian-Ranger-Dino-Owner!

-Korityliya, the slaver turned slave!

-Angmar, the tough-as-nails Angradd proponent!

-Sabeen, the more than slightly crazy witch!

Congratulations or condolences to all, and I'll see those of you accepted in the other threads momentarily.

Have fun guys :'(

Congratulations to those who made it!

ToT. congratz all have fun.

Awesome!

Loving the descriptions of us all btw! :p

Awesome!

Yay!!!!!!!!! Good job everyone!!!!

Hey all!

I've had some inactivity these past couple of weeks/months/etc. I've decided to re-open recruitment for this campaign. Character creation guidelines are found on the first page of this thread.

Currently, the party is exploring the town of Katapesh, eliminating threats.

The party consists of:

Angmar, dwarven inquisitor of Angradd

Apollo, human ranger/fighter

Dmitri, human fighter/antipaladin of Lilith

Kori, drow barbarian/oracle of battle

I'll be back later with more or answers to questions, but please signal interest!

I'm curious. An Antipaladin? And a drow? Are you running this as an evil campaign? The main reason I ask is because Antipaladin's can only be Chaotic Evil.

Not precisely. I saw this campaign as an opportunity for the players to be quite morally grey, because I saw most of the adventures to be basically just being employed or being out of necessity.

I like to homebrew it so that paladins can be NG or CG and antipaladins can be NE or LE, as long as their alignment matches their dieties. Dmitri is LE.

I figured - why can only CE and LG dieties have holy warriors?

As for the drow, she's a CN former slave in it for her freedom and the lulz.

Liberty's Edge

I'm interested. What level would new recruits be coming in at? What kind of posting rate are you guys pulling?

4d6 ⇒ (5, 6, 2, 6) = 19
4d6 ⇒ (5, 1, 1, 1) = 8
4d6 ⇒ (6, 4, 2, 6) = 18
4d6 ⇒ (5, 6, 4, 1) = 16
4d6 ⇒ (2, 1, 6, 6) = 15
4d6 ⇒ (2, 6, 1, 6) = 15
4d6 ⇒ (1, 2, 2, 1) = 6

Sovereign Court

Is this still open?

It is indeed quite open. I'm looking for two to three players to fill in some blanks.

New recruits would be making 4th-level characters, and entering a gnoll-infested town to discover the current party.

It seems to be that everybody can make a post every couple of days. This is actually one of the reasons I'm looking for new people - I want to re-energize the campaign and get it moving faster again.

Sovereign Court

Are the rules for char creation the same as the first page? Is there any particular roles needed filled?

Liberty's Edge

Are you comfortable moving the game along when appropriate or do you prefer to wait for everyone to post for any given interaction?

One post every two days sounds a bit slow for my preferences. I was part of the group that finished all of Skull and Shackles in four months in PBP. /flex

Another concern is group comp. The character I had in mind for this AP was a fallen wrestler/pitfighter. It looks like the party is almost entirely bruisers already. =P

Sovereign Court

Seems like it doesn't it? I oculd throw in a Rogue/Sorceror character 1/2 elf seeing that the party could use some in that department.

I usually am able to make 2 posts a day or more on weekdays.

We are indeed melee heavy, and my build is primarily grappler-focused. (I'm the Drow, by the way)

Sovereign Court

4d6 ⇒ (3, 4, 4, 3) = 14 11
4d6 ⇒ (6, 6, 6, 2) = 20 18
4d6 ⇒ (5, 4, 5, 3) = 17 14
4d6 ⇒ (3, 3, 1, 6) = 13 12
4d6 ⇒ (4, 6, 1, 5) = 16 15
4d6 ⇒ (5, 3, 3, 4) = 15 12
4d6 ⇒ (3, 4, 5, 4) = 16 13

Dropping the 11.

Liberty's Edge

We could be a tag team!

Although I don't know how common mixed gender tag team crews are...

Pretty Uncommon though I dare say you could work in the 'Don't underestimate us' feel.

It wouldn't be likely. She is an ex-slave (or will be when the mission's over), who learned to unarmed fight just to survive. She generally dislikes everyone, especially men (and non-drow), and is very temperamental. The only thing that makes her not unhappy is violence.

Oh and when I get back to the little guy, you'll have to put up with a baby t-rex who currently acts like a bewildered toddler.

I fight with a hammer, aim to claim the weapons of those I personally beat and am specifically a Gnoll hater who loves to cave skulls in. I am chaotic good though, and probably the most down to earth character in the group.

Dimitri is a self harmer. Our party is pretty out there tbh, but it's all good fun.

Liberty's Edge

Interesting. Are you guys opposed to another melee?

At the very least I can promise my ability to post as much as the DM and party wants.

We're so melee heavy already, it would be hard for anyone at ranged to have room to operate anyways. Opposed, I am not, but it's really up to the GM anyways.

Though, I don't think fast posters were what we were looking for as much as reliable posters. I personally think there is such thing as the pace going too fast (I work full time, go to school half-time, and PbP for relaxing fun). Too me posting too fast makes my responses smaller and shorter, which in turn makes it harder to really get a personal feel for the character. That's just me.

Liberty's Edge

Hrm. Perhaps I should bow out then. The DM's previous post made it sound like he wanted to speed up the posting.

Well we do, and hopefully someone who can post daily twice a day or so. The game's been too dead lately, so if that sounds good to you, I'd like to see you in game. :-)

Liberty's Edge

Heh. I don't want to show up and wreck your status quo.

If I join, I'm going to sincerely try to give you guys some momentum. Koritylija seems to like the slower pace.

I suppose we should see what Leinathan has in mind.

Oddly enough, I am a fairly frequent and regular poster (just look at the gameplay thread). I just think something like 6 modules in 4 months can actually be too fast. I wouldn't even want to go that fast on tabletop, let alone PbP tends to be a slower medium by most norms. I was just saying that we may not be looking for that kind of speed. Maybe going from 1 post per day or two, to 1-2 posts daily.
