Round 7

"AHHH!" he groans in pain from the two branches that cut him. Though he does answer Beorn, "What these scratches, nothing compared to what I am going to do to it. Koldur lets make some good fire wood."

He then summarily cuts the scythe tree in half and cuts off a branch.

He continues making sure that the tree is cut up and then placed in a pile with its kin as he gets ready to set it ablaze. This would take about 15 minutes on his own.

Flouncy:
As you begin looking for treasure troves you find one and are pleasantly surprised. It also likely sets your determination to find the others.

You see the edge of a chest or a crate. Pulling it out from under roots and dirt you dig out a loot chest.

You find: 3 pieces of amber worth 100 gp each, simple silver ring worth 65 gp, and a folded-up bundle of cloth that appears to be a robe of bones.

In addition, 242 cp and 155 sp can be found scattered among the bones in the clearing.

A second loot box is uncovered: You find it with a nice formal dress worth 150 gp, a gold ring with an emerald set in it worth 110 gp, a black leather belt with three sun stones set along its width, and a golden idol of some god worth 200 gp.

A third and last loot box is found away from the others: You find a ream of fine silk that holds a bunch of gems. Silk 55 gp, gems 450 gp. There is also a spattering of 76 gp,11 pp.

Flouncy then begins to search every possible place for loot taking 2 minutes every 5 foot square. This is going to take an hour at least. Likely on his own it would take 5 hours.

She flies over to the site of the last scythe trees demise. She asks, "Koldur what was that you were barking earlier, I really only heard my name. Sable I will let you finish dealing with this kindling."

She then begins to sensuously walk back to the meadow.

Her appearance is that of a tempting succubus. Raven black hair spilling over two massive horns and a massive mane behind. Glowing golden eyes, stark white teeth in comparison to her dark ruby glistening lips. A glittering diamond on her forehead and a necklace of bones and black leather. A red dress leaving little imagination to the viewer of all her deadly curves. Pert and ample breasts nearly ready to be free from the lack of clothing covering them. The rest of the dress covers her front and back, leaving cuts along the side to let her athletic legs be viewed easily. Large black feathered wings fold back into a resting position. Her hands are delicate with clean fingernails. On her head is a strange metallic hat of sorts made of flat strips of metal some six inches long with strange runes upon them, they almost seem to suspend in the air around her face as if ioun stones without the rotation.

She answers Beorn as Sable is busy with making firewood, her sensuous voice gliding smoothly to your ears almost like a spell. "We came from Koldur's summons. Flying in your direction and at the sight of your group engaged with the trees, I threw Sable using my Comet ability."

"Koldur wanted a way to communicate with the council. We brought some sending stones, two pair. The other ones are in my possession and the other is with Johanna. Koldur should hold onto one of them, suggestions on who else should hold one?" She simply says as if it should all make sense.


Flouncy ends up uncovering three loot boxes, two chests without locks, one crate that has a lid you can remove and put back upon. If you are interested you can look at the spoiler above with Founcy as its title.

Tiressia and Falchos comes into the glade now that the evil tress are dead. She offers berries, "Does anyone need healing? Thank you for taking care of this blight upon the Nalmarches!"

After a while as the trees burn, she looks to the group and promises to aid you in guarding the Narlmarches and keep you updated about threats within its borders. This grants a +2 bonus to their nation’s Stability. She also offers up some potions and other items:
potion of cure moderate wounds (2),
scroll of summon nature’s ally II,
wand of cure light wounds (26 charges),
6 feather tokens (tree); and 150 gp.

She also offers the group to come to her grove at any time, she will make sure you are well taken care of. If given ample amount of time she can make sure to have some companionship if you would just tell her what you are interested in romantically speaking.

Koldur's only answer to the beautiful woman knowing full well who she is was a gruff.
"Barking? It seems that time with Sable has dulled your hearing." he raises his axe as he joins Sable in reducing the trees to compact firewood while twisting a ring on his finger to summon his goblin compatriot to go aid Flouncy. He takes the stone from Olivia though as he knew his companions had come through for him on swift messages.

"Should be a whole pile of treasure buried around here." he tells the goblin once summoned.
"Help Flouncy there find them." he grins.

As he joins Sable.
"That was a pretty swift reply. I had sent out that letter but a day ago?"


The goblin does indeed assist Founcy in uncovering the loot boxes and some extra coin...

Then Rognar does a little bow to Sable and waves to Olivira and says thanks for the assist.

His own axe matches the swords rhythm as the two old friends work to reduce the remains of the trees to kindling.

"I'm more grateful of the fact that your paramour was able to come up with this form of communication. I hope the others are doing well? How is Hundor in his lands?"

Olivia waves to Rognar and states, "Your welcome, we like to be helpful when we can." At Beorn's question to the Dryad she moves her hand to the bag that is over her shoulder. She pulls out two bottles, likely of wine from the bag. She offers, "I have wine and something even stronger than that if you wish?"

Sable bows to Rognar in response. Then he states to Koldur, "Yes, it was an interesting dilemma as most other routes of communication still needed to be under a mile or less in distance. The council is doing well. Hundor has been very busy, he has so much to reign in with so many new subordinates. At least he has not needed to summon anyone for some help."


She shakes her head as Beorn asks her the question of something stronger to drink, "I may be able to make a nice nectar once we return to my glade. I would not want to take any sap or sustenance from the trees here."

Now with all of the scythe tree bodies chopped into pieces and set to flame. He nods to Koldur and follows the group. He would ask, "Flouncy do you have a magical bag to hold all that loot, or do you need a hand?"

The group collects the loot and moves back to the dryad's grove. With the spreading of the wine and brandy, most of you are in good moods once you arrive.

There the dryad makes a few different kinds of drinks that should revitalize and make you feel healthy. She also states, "Make your camp here if you wish and I will have food ready for you each night you return."

With nothing else much, he retires for the day. His bones needed that rest.

Half of the day is spent exploring most of the area, but near noon with a light breeze on your face you see an interesting site.

Several sandy islets create a ford across this remote section of the Skunk River. The sandy islands make for a natural choke point in the river, but the thick piles of rubble, branches, leaves, and dead bodies that partially block the river’s flow are anything but natural. Several large bone bodies of massive lizards lie among the rubble.

Beorn tries to guide his mount to land near the blockage about twenty feet from the water. "Be careful, whatever killed those people may still be around. It may be what formed this makeshift dam." Beorn says taking his own advice and nocking an arrow. He dismounts on the river side of the pegasus as quickly as possible when they land.
