The ring is Flouncy's bonded object. He casts a known spell as normal. He is casting it on the monster. This is the surprise round, so turning invisible is one action, meaning the spawn couldn't move also.

Bonded Object:
A bonded object can be used once per day to cast any one spell that the wizard has in his spellbook and is capable of casting, even if the spell is not prepared. This spell is treated like any other spell cast by the wizard, including casting time, duration, and other effects dependent on the wizard’s level. This spell cannot be modified by metamagic feats or other abilities. The bonded object cannot be used to cast spells from the wizard’s opposition schools.


It is still in surprise round? Beorn shot it with arrows, then it went invisible, then it was asked if someone has glitterdust, at the earliest it would be the end of Round 1.

As you walks forward Loarin and Beorn doesn't have to bend down as all the limbs of the trees were at least ten feet off the ground. You are walk8ng through apple trees, their sweet smell is amazing. With no complaint, Beorn remounts and lifts off waiting for the others to follow suit.

With Will being my lowest save I don't particularly want to be in a throwdown where I am constantly having to make will saves. Plus, I have a sneaking suspicion those squirrels were once people.


The group remounts and heads out, continuing on the flight plan... until... you see a sluglike humanoid has neither arms nor legs and is covered in spiked, rusted chains. Its lolling tongue drips with thick saliva.

Following Beorn he urges his mount to land as well. Then he discounts taking his time before pulling his shield free from his back. He then readies it and his scimitar. Still 60 feet away from Beorn he waits knowing Beorn will back up.


Koldur agrees and follows Beorn as well. Now beside Loarin with his two axes ready!

The slug creature turns in the direction of Beorn and runs towards him. 40 feet! It will continue to run in round 3, 80 feet, if not dead it runs again...!

Beorn shoots an arrow at the thing and it sinks deep into the slug like creature, then he backs up 30 feet towards the group. The creature slows down only moving 10 feet forward. Beorn is 130 feet from the creature and hears a terrifying noise not of this world. Beorn needs a Will Save DC 15... or... he becomes paralyzed!

Description
The subject becomes paralyzed and freezes in place. It is aware and breathes normally but cannot take any actions, even speech. Each round on its turn, the subject may attempt a new saving throw to end the effect. This is a full-round action that does not provoke attacks of opportunity. A winged creature who is paralyzed cannot flap its wings and falls. A swimmer can't swim and may drown.
