"What do you have for us so far?" came the Drow's voice, just behind Jen
-Posted with Wayfinder

Turin Baelor |

Thought they were blood stained...hmm.
Not blood stains...piss.
Turin himself comes before the others and speaks bluntly, "nothing to report, didn't have the right stuff".
Turin considers another option...
"Chief can you bring those wolves into the city for tracking?"

Chief White Eagle |

White Eagle first nods his appreciation to those that offer to help.
to Turin, we have an agreement that the wolves will not enter the human settlements, and in return the humans will stay out of the pack's territory. I will not violate that trust.
to the others, I have used my resources to confirm that Grigori did not leave the boundaries of this settlement. he is still here somewhere. also I have found that a substance known as Gum Arabic was discovered in his room as well as the fact that others were in the room with him. He left in a hurry, possibly by force. much of his belongings were still there. also he never did retire for the evening after our encounter with him.
I am afraid that my knowledge of magic is rather limited.

Turin Baelor |

"I have an idea... Just wish I wasn't going to be the alchemist's lab rat. I need some of the fur from one of your wolves Chief, let's hope the changes aren't permanent..."
As Turin says this you can clearly see a strange silver pistol with a needle in place of a barrel in his hands...
I'm assuming that Turin never was able to use blood biography as such he still has enough juice left to try Beast Shape I, which will give him the scent property...

Jenya P. |

Heck I can get four times that by tussling with them for a minute. They're half worg though. Hope that won't mess up your shiny needle.
If no better idea than Jenya will do just that.

Zartana |

"So. You are going to sniff out what happened?" she asks looking things over
"What if he used something to just teleport? I dont know how magic works, even if i can see it. Just cause i cant see it, doesnt mean he didnt use it?"

Turin Baelor |

Taking the wolf pup hair from Jenya and putting it into the needle gun synthesizer Turin speaks...
"I will but let's get to the scene where Grigori was last reported... As for teleportation I doubt it seriously, that is a major magic by any stretch of the imagination and Grigori while persuasive is no sorcerer... And he doesn't have the brains for wizardry."

Zartana |

"Yet it can work both ways. He cpuld have been taken by said powerful arcane user? My influence and reach only goes so far. I do not have any form arcane powers. Well. Not yet. So i have to rely on my eyes and ears."

Zartana |

"Mundane things can be found. Ill try to find a disguised person. Its possible."

Chief White Eagle |

White eagle ponders the thought that even the others here are no more knowledgeable in magic than he was.
This Gum Arabic, I will seek an alchemist to learn more of it.

![]() |

Jenya is able to procure more than enough hair, probably just by shaking off her jacket.
Jenya and Turin put their heads together and find that gum arabic has plenty of uses in alchemy, but none that are particularly damning.
They consider that it might be a spell ingredient. Spellcraft check please.

Zartana |

She simply waits as the two ponder amd muse about the object found. If allowed, she will use what ever they come up with to broaden her investigation

Turin Baelor |

"Our little rabblerouser obviously favors invisibility... Let's get to the site and i'll use the mutagen, I doubt highly that invisibility prevents smell..."
Turin get's over to the site and will press the needlegun into his neck...
Would you prefer to describe the transformation GM or have me do it?

Turin Baelor |

Turin calmly injects the mutagen into his neck and nothing happens...then you see a tick in Turin's face and then his body...
Suddenly Turin's facial and body ticks change as the man's face turns into a wolf's and his body begins to hunch and sprout gray fir... For a moment Turin looks like a werewolf before the transformation is complete...
Turin's "final" form seems to be a wolf...but a big one.
Putting his nose to the ground Turin begins sniffing...

The trail is old, and many people have been in this room since the subject departed. He did ,however, have a particularly strong odour.
Turin is able to follow the trail out of the house and across part of Freewater, but it quickly becomes muddled in the street. Turin tries desperately to pick up the scent but it becomes too confused in the street, among the elements and horses and people passing by everyday.
All he can say for certain is that the trail seemed to be leading towards the castle, as opposed to the quickest route out of town.

Turin Baelor |

Turin's wolf form fades as he transforms painfully back into his normal self and speaks, "trail is cold but seemed to be leading to the Castle... Chief think you can convince the worg/wolf hybrid pups to try sniffing themselves?"
Turin's voice in winded and you can tell from the way his chest moves that the mutagenic experience was not painless...

Chief White Eagle |

White eagle looks to Turin, I can try, but they are only pups, I don't think they may be of much help.
White Eagle heads to the Castle, he follows what is the most likely trail based on the trail they followed already.
Looking along that route for other possible locations he may have gone.

She let's them know shed keep an eye out for hidden assailants while they do their tracking things

As the cold winds of Kuthona blow outside the council once again gathers to discuss matters of the kingdom.
As they do there begins to be some commotion outside, specifically in the Worg hunter gameplay thread.

![]() |

I'm going to rearrange time just a little bit to make this work. So please go with me on this.
As Kuthona begins and the cold winds bring deep snows the investigation into Grigori's disappearance continues.
White Eagle and his faithful eagle companion are searching the streets (street?) for some idea of where Grigori might have been headed when he left his lodgings and made his way towards the Castle.
Suddenly there's a commotion coming from the edge of town. There's a small crowd, of perhaps 20 people coming towards White Eagle, and the center of town, where the castle is located. At their front is a bedraggled. dirty man. As they draw nearer someone seems to recognise White eagle and they steer the man towards him.
"Councillor White Eagle," calls out one of the men. "We found this man stumbling around in the snow outside of town, he says he wants to speak to Zartana Orlovsky." Once they draw close it becomes clear that the man they are dragging along with them is none other than Grigori himself.

Chief White Eagle |

White Eagle looks down at the man. Ahh, mr. Grigori, you will speak to me, and the council, instead.
turning to the people I will take him from here, there are questions that need to be answered. and accusations that need to be addressed. So please return to your homes, take care of your families. Winter appraches and there is much to do.
grabbing the wayward bard (Grigori) he takes him to the council chamber.
actually drags him most likely.
tossing him to the floor, Mr. Grigori has decided to bless us with his presence.

Jenya P. |

Having noted Chief coming into the castle Jenya follows him and the unfortunate bard to the council room.
You don't look too good there Grigori, Watcha been upto since you up and vanished on us? she crouches to get a better look at the man as she asks her question.

![]() |

The crowd backs off a bit, but they follow White Eagle to the castle, loitering around in the courtyard to see what the result is. More people come to join the proceedings, and eventually a group of a hundred citizens have gathered.
Some support Grigori, but most simply want to know what happened.
Well proceed in the King's Patron gameplay thread. Sorry for all the thread hopping.

Raven of Bonespire |

Raven lets the council know at some point, or at least her acolytes will relate to any that ask, that she has left with Akiros to go and look at the Forgotten Keep. Those who wish to go with are of course welcome to come along.

The next day you head west and find the unexplored shore of the Tuskwater. There is a three-mile stretch of shore that rises some 40 feet above the water, making it inaccessible. After having spoken wit hArven the fisherman you know that there is a hidden path leading through thick bushes of stinging nettles that will lead down to a secluded pool, where the infamous crackjaw nests.
No doubt the giant turtle will be hungry after a harsh winter of hibernation.

![]() |

You head down the trail, it's too narrow and precipitous to take your horses.
As you come down off the cliffs you find a resplendent pool, as blue as sapphires, sparking in the midday sun. The banks are shady and perfect for lying upon, while fishing or perhaps enjoying the company of a friend.
You see no sign of any turtle, of any size.
