Background:

Lorald was born of a tryst between a maiden of House Orlovsky and an elven wanderer. When it was discovered she was with child her house was far from pleased. Still in their wisdom they would not blame the child or condemn it for the actions of it's parents. Lorald's mother was a different story, by shaming herself she was no longer allowed to leave family holdings or marry. Her duty would be to her child completely yet it was not long after Lorald was born that his mother found this duty to be a light one. Lorald was a considerate and intelligent child. Things started to change for him once his schooling started, like all nobles he was expected to have a basic understanding of a number of subjects and teachings. While he did passingly in these lessons he found them mostly boring and grew disinterested. Only when it came to his lessons on the warrior and hunting arts did he reveal a strong desire to learn. While his swordsmanship teacher found him average with a blade he was impressed with his abilities utilizing fluid movements and accuracy. Under his huntsman teacher his skill riding and using ranged weapons was discovered to be exceptional. He also took well to the lessons of the wilderness and moving carefully to sneak up on your prey.

Before long Lorald was a boy no more but a man. During this time he came across a lammasu on Mt. Veshka who spoke to him of Olheon. Having heard of the untrustworthy House Surtova who had all but stolen the throne of Brevoy, the lammasu was there to judge their threat in Olheons name. Lorald listened and felt that Olheon's way mirrored that of his own family, after he left the lammasu he started worshiping Olheon himself. Feeling his training could only take him so far he joined the local militia. Many laughed at his favoring ranged combat with a crossbow over the traditional dueling sword or at least another close range weapon. More then once it was whispered he was secretly a coward who was forced to join the militia by his family. Such talk was quickly put to rest once his bolts killed many bandits before the rest could close in, even then his shots grew only more deadly as their enemies drew near. For some their pride would not allow them to acknowledge his ability and their short comings, while others knew they owed their lives to his deadly aim and praised him for it.

One such foray to the border of the stolen lands had not only a member of House Orlovsky in their ranks but a new sly volunteer from House Surtova. During their patrol he learned that the surtovan was meeting with bandits and planning to lay an ambush for the rest of the patrol. All would be killed to a man but the traitorous surtovan, he would gain glory and the bandits would have more then enough reward from the dead. With the plan set the surtovan left to return to the others, from hiding Lorald shot him dead, retrieving his bolt he tracked the bandits. Killing them in the night from hiding, he retrieved his bolts from their bodies as well. The next day the surtovan was found missing and the patrol continued. Only upon his return was Lorald dismissed from the militia by request of his own house. They had found out of his actions some how and upon hearing the recounting of his account did not fault him for his actions. None the less he had killed a Surtova, he would have to be kept out of sight, perhaps even the country. Shortly after fate delivered the perfect answer, the sword lords were looking to pacify the stolen lands. The wild and bandits would be far from any Surtovan threat. So Lorald went south, deeper into the stolen lands.

Lorald stands an even six feet, his ear length black hair kept wild but out of the way at times covering his pointed ears. His eyes below the most distinctive feature among his strongly built face. Mismatched eyes of purple and gold each. Combined with a lean build that expresses powerful speed, he cuts a frame akin to a jungle cat.

His manner of dress more of function then anything else. Favoring studded leather with a buckler on his left arm. He bares two bandoliers running across his chest with rows of crossbow bolts and items. At his waist hangs a black eagle headed crossbow, a black rapier, a dagger, and a bayonet. As well as a number of pouches along with more crossbow bolts.
