Cleo:
He takes his time to take your hair and carefully weave it together making three braids. The center braid was an elaborate one weaving at least half of her hair into a tight design, it was about three inches wide and thick. Then the other two formed very tight braids on either side about a finger's length in width. It takes him about an hour to finish it all.

He nods in agreement and slowly begins to form an image. Almost going through a checklist he says, "a human aasimar with dark red hair, a fair complextion, eyes that have a jewel tone of rubies, just a few inches taller than you with and well toned body. Did I miss anything?"

Cleo from Jorne.:
He sighs as she points out what she is talking about, a weight can almost be seen lifted from his shoulders as he sits up straighter, "Oh yeah that. The rumor mill has had me working pretty hard. Most of the students are just worried for you. Luckily I haven't had to deal with any parents yet but I have steeled myself for such an occassion. Oh yeah, Saren's sword! That has been a thorn in my side too. Well I think someone grabbed it! Yeah I have been doing fine with the job, it really is just talking with students and helping them cope with any slights they might have with each other. Anything serious and you get involved."

I am sorry to hear about the loss of time well spent!

Sulvanii:
While he braided her hair Cleonora told him about the academy, how it was doing and such, how her students where learning, and without saying a real word about it just how important this place was to her. When she was done she ran her hand over the braids. "They're wonderful." She told him as she smiled slightly.

Cleonora mentally she through her own checklist before she shook her head. "I don't believe so." She answered. "I'm sorry that you have to wear a different form at all."

Jorne:
"I believe my thinking to worst is starting to rub off on you." Cleonora said as she watched Jorne relax.

"Let's try to make sure that doesn't happen." Gao commented.

Cleonora gave Gao a small roll of her eyes with a half smirk before she looked back to Jorne. "I am very thankful for everything you have done Jorne. It really does mean a great deal to me. I have few friends, but I am proud to count you among them."

Yeah... I thought it was so good too... Man! I'm still so angry about it!!!

Cleo:
"You are welcome, I enjoyed brushing and weaving them. To tell you the truth the black suited form was one of my few days in public. Since I have been councilor." He replies simply. He leans in to give you a kiss, once the simple kiss is done he taps his lap and says, "Okay, do you want me to teleport you to your chambers in the academy or spend the night here? I have other bedrooms."

He nods in response, and then comments, "Love is a strange thing. A part of you may still want him, or you don't want to stop getting that attention, or you know even if you tell him he won't stop... yeah we should fix that now. A simple wish to tether him to someone else... something like that, I will need to look into that. Nothing pressing.

Cleonora smiled at him when he kissed her, cheeks rosy with another blush. "I should return to the academy. I have to start an early morning tomorrow." She told him. "Before I go... I do have a question... I should tell Jorne about us, so that he doesn't waist his time trying to court me but... The thought of that hurts... Why?"

"So the, tether would be a problem?" Cleonora asked a bit confused. "Do you mean because it ties us together? Or is there something more to it?"

"Yeah, he was from a parallel plane. He had cut off most of his emotions to deal with the huge loss. We tethered it to the magics so he would gain some of their emotions. Well you were suppose to either touch his head or his heart. As you kissed him you made the magic much stronger than we had expected, you deviated from the magic as it was written. He is a good man and the magics we instilled on him will make him a power to be reckoned with. That is why I was talking him up earlier."

I typically work on a post at most 15 minutes then post it! Sorry again you lost all that work! :'(

It isn't your fault, but thank you. We're supposed to get four more people on Monday! Which is my day off, but the extra help should really allow me more time to dedicate to my family and my games! So that we can get this resolved as quickly as possible.

Sulvanii:
Cleonora placed her face in her hands. "How could you two do this?" Cleonora asked as she got up from the bed. "That kind of magic... Without even telling those it could effect?!" Her voice cracked as it raised but as swiftly as it did she stopped herself, and took a long deep breath. "I... Need to go... Before I say something I cannot take back." Cleonora told him as she turned and move to get changed into her normal clothes. If he doesn't stop her she politely said good-bye, her face a mixture sadness and disappointment. "Maybe we can talk about this after I've calmed down a bit..."

Yeah I am too... I spent time rewriting it so that it read easy, didn't sound too abrasive, and got the point across as easily as Cleo could. Honestly this is one of the few games I've put so much work into. But then again conflict tends to make more work as well as more story so... I'm not surprised...

Cleo:
"We..." he started to say but noticed that you didn't want to hear it, or would for that matter. He let you change and leave. "Okay, I will talk with you tomorrow, sleep well."

Cleo from Jorne:
He simply says it, "I did." He seems agitated by the thought.

He smiles and nods at Gao's words... he seems a bit withdrawn but relaxed. He blows on the tea and enjoys the steam as he breathes it in.

Jorne:
Cleonora looked down. "I'm sorry. I didn't mean to bring up those memories..." She explained as she closed her eyes.

"Did something happen to your friends?" Gao asked, after all he wasn't in the loop.

"Its fine I just don't want to think about all those great people and dying for no good reason. In my own realm I was a... banished prince from Taldor. Once things settle here I might make a trip there. Anyways, I was sent to settle the Stolenlands. We failed, I had 60 brave souls with me and at the end of it we were down to two. Krafnik died shortly before I came over. Krazok and Selena were a different group that we joined. We were organizing the Stag Lords old fort and then got overrun with fey and owlbears. It was amazing when we got swept up here. You have a kingdom. Either the fey haven't come yet or you made better decisions."

Cleo from Sulvanii:
He looked downcast as you left.

The next day he brought you flowers in his new aasimar form. Tiger lillies. To have lunch with you.

I sent GM a note for clarification on a question.

Prior to Cleo's post she had asked for a ruling on how to play things which if one was made I don't know what it was. So I don't want to just respond without understanding the expectations.

I was surprised that things continued in gameplay without the Wish Solution happening.

Gao looked at Jorne with pity and new understanding. "I am very sorry my lad." Gao said. "Losing friends is never easy."

"It is also likely that this place is just lucky. I mean it does have a god and an Efreeti among the members. The things they could be capable of.... It is almost mind boggling."

Sulvanii:
On her way back to her room, Cleonora stopped at the training ground to let off some steam, destroying two of the practice dummies in the process. Even after that she placed her back against a pillar and slid down it to cry a bit on the floor. She ended up there for a while hour.

The next day when Cleonora saw Sulvanii she gave him and half smile and accepted the flower. "I'm sorry, about last night..." Cleonora told him. "I just didn't want to say something to you I couldn't take back..."

I believe we have agreed on the wish solution. But Cleo needs to talk to Sulvanii to see if it is even possible, at least what she is thinking, and if she can even ask for it. Which I plan to do after the meeting in game.

Gao nodded knowingly. "Yes, and it is a pain that will last many years." He told him. "New friends do help, the pain dulls. New life brings hope, and you slowly move on."

"I am fine with meeting your professors, it matters what kind of lunch you want? They might not know me in this form but many of them know the black suit. Oh I think Joan will be civil at least after a few mental words. Roses, no these are tiger lilies. Oh you mean those roses, no."

"Then let's have lunch in my office. As I don't need to have Jorne's life spoken to everyone." Cleonora said as she motioned for him to follow her. She also set word to the kitchen to get food for two sent to her office.

The meal was a simple nice fish sandwich with a small salad. Cleonora also put the flowers he gave her in a different vase and asked the woman who dropped off their meal to put in it for her. Then she sat down at the meeting table and looked to Sulvanii. "So, where would you like to start?" She asked.

"You think I got upset because you helped him?" Cleonora asked with a raised "No, that isn't what I was upset with. As I did hope he at least had asked for it, but you planned to tether him to me, without telling me. When he offered protect, I figured he meant as a body guard. And the few questions I got in before hand, well let's just say none of his answers explained the tether." Cleonora pointed out. "I'm upset, because I bound a man to me! Without even knowing it! Now I'm just to cast him aside?!"

Sighed she stopped talking to take a bite of her sandwich and try to think how to ask the next question. "Are you sure you can even remove the stronger bond? And what if Jorne doesn't want it removed? If it's as important as you say then I don't want to force the change he doesn't want."

Okay so what is the wish supposed to be and who is supposed to make it.

This situation is not getting better its getting far far worse as far as these two characters working together.

Honestly if only the wisher is supposed to remember things it might be better for all the players to be working to not act as if they don't remember. To keep the dynamic on the same page.

The Crux of the issues was that Liz chose to attack and steal instead of ask. So literally changing that one thing, would save all our problems. So I would argue the wish should be made by a neutral third party. Like Stalker.

Though I'm super curious as to why she went after Cleo who declined, when Selena agreed and either of them would have worked for it.

Yeah I would prefer Saren make the wish then to have one player know the different.

If any PC remembers this the point become moot. For they will always remember what happened. Also Saren isn't a neutral party. It really needs to be a neutral party. Stalker has strong ties to the party and council, but supported Cleo enough that she'd accept him doing it.

Possibly. That is the most likely at this very moment. But it is a glaring hole at the moment...

Quince doesn't have a menacing bone in his body. Hell it would be simpler to just have Cleo kill Liz in her sleep, hide her bones in the lake, and leave a note that she left. Because no one but me and the GM would even know! XD

The problem isn't the NPC though.

I could be wrong but the problem as I see it is how Quince and Cleo view the law.

Quince sees the law as a tool to be used to get the best result for people involved. He wants good results. There are of course limits to mercy.

Cleo as you have said is judge dread the law and the law alone is the consideration.

If we can find away to balance that perspective in a single story it would be a great commentary on Justice, Mercy and the Law.

It is, but not in the way you're think. Let me explain. You are completely correct that the ideals of the law between Quince and Cleonora are what is driving the problem forward. But their argument is over Liz, the NPC. No NPC, no argument.

This battle of their views on how the law should work would be an amazing commentary! But I feel in order to do something like that both Cleo and Quince need a deeper and better understanding of each other and a stable balance of trust. Which they just didn't get the time to build. And it's hard to build that with each side believe the other to be unreasonable. I really wish this story plot had just happened a little later in game, after a baseline could have been established.

It was very much in the same vein! And I'll also point out that you all completely ignored that she was very willing to kill someone for using mind controlling magic. She would have followed through if wasn't for the fact it became know that it was actually the intelligent item. So as it has actually intelligence, the item becomes at fault. Which is why she would have taken great pleasure in destroying it.

And she was also annoyed that Quince believed this was the only way. Cleo believed that through some research that there could be another way, however Selena didn't want it! That was her choice. Magical or not, it is slavery, which Quince has approved instead of being like, No I'm not having any form of slavery in my kingdom, I suggest you look elsewhere. Which is what Cleo saw as the logical thing. Because now you've opened the door to other magical slaves.

But I had hoped that, specifically that interaction, would have sparked a "You know I think we need to talk" from the group or at least one PC. But... That didn't happen... So here we are. Back at square one...

Quince very much agreed that finding out more information to eventually break the enchantment would have been the best plan. That was how the matter was left. Save that in the meantime Stalker would where the ring.

Selena then objected to even the attempt to break the enchantment.

Bracelet. It was a bracelet. Item! The item! XD

It was her unwillingness to be removed from the bracelet's control and thus freed which made Cleo go, oh then this is just a dead end and she should leave.

It's a similar situation, but instead of being an hey this seems familiar how did I deal with this last time. It's just butting heads. If any of the PCs had come to talk about what happened after Selena the baseline that we're missing could have been built. Making the later situation with Liz to taken in a better direction. But, it wasn't. Instead it went into honesty hour for the council and a bit of small talk for setting up some character progression for Cleo and Sulvanii, though in the discussion threat there was also Katrina starting their friendship and the only character to talk about the situation after it happened, towards each other I mean. Then we went right into the Liz situation.

Well great stories have different ideas that are presented with good arguments and differences.

I mean take Captain America Civil War. The ideological difference was never resolved rather they learned that they were being divided by someone.

In the case of Selena the issue was agreed that they would work to break the enchantment. I think if they took up the conversation again they would work together. But a new situation came up.

It just so happens that the new situation turned on similar reasoning.

I don't want you to feel like Cleo is impossible to go forward. Especially if out of character your own reasoning and insights would push a different character toward a path that ran against the reasoning that we have shown.

Yes but Captain America: Civil War has a base for all of the characters. They went through multiple movies building friendships, understandings, and found that they shared a great deal of common ground. We don't have that. Nor is there a third party manipulating the group. Unless the GM wants to turn Liz into a villian. Which I mean her introduction was definitely one! XD

The problem is, that Cleo never agreed to break the enchantment. Because Selena didn't want that and it was her choice. Which Cleo would honor, even if she didn't agree with it. If Quince had come to her about the enchantment she'd give him a look of "Boy what ya talkin' about?" Then explained that unless Selena agreed to it she wouldn't put the effort in, because it would come to nothing.

Yes this situation has parallels but you don't have a connection that could wear down Cleo. You tried logic but your logic actually lead to the information that it was all Liz's fault to begin with. It's kinda like Cap's fight with Tony over Bucky.
