The part swashbucklers took from Gunslingers was the grit system, and called it Deeds.

I skimmed a bit and I'm just not that enthusiastic about it. Big 'meh' from me.

Female Bard 4 {HP 30/30; AC 17, T 13, FF 14; F+2 R+7 W+5/+6 vs. fey; Init+3 Perc+8} {Effects: none}

Would taking the time to check out the fey doorway have any negative impact on the functioning of the realm? If so,I would be willing to put it off until after the next council meeting. We could have Happs and Yiv scout out the lizardfolk encampment, preferably have them get a lay of the land without actually making contact with the lizardfolk.

V: 56/56, W: 74/74, Temp HP 18, AC 17*, Fort +11*, Ref +9, Will +10*, Rage 23/23 , Power 9/9, Psi 7/7, Active Effects: Bull Strength

It kinda gets a Meh from me too. I was excited about the Brawler, hoping it would be the big fix that the Monk needs. It isn't, and that's sad.

Heading to the door won't cause any problems for the realm, so we'll do that.

----

I also had high hopes for the brawler, but was likewise disappointed.

HP: 40/40 AC: 17:13:14 Saves:6:5:5 Init: 2, Dip+11 Per: +11 SenMot +9

I'll admit Brawler is not perfect, but it's good in My Point of View.
As Brawler and monk take different routes,
Brawler is Aggressive, Monk is Defensive

Hi everyone,
So I’m alive and doing reasonably well. Sorry for disappearing; as most of you know, my schedule has gone through some massive changes over the past few months. I won’t get into details, but suffice to say, between changes at work and my son’s new/revised/ever-changing sleeping schedule, the 2+ hours of free time I typically had at night has all but vanished. I have tried to keep up, but my efforts have more often ended up with me asleep at my desk rather than producing anything for my games. After some retrospective consideration of what’s been going wrong for me, I’ve decided that I’ve been trying (in vain) to maintain a posting pattern that just doesn’t work with my current lifestyle.

All that said, I sincerely enjoy running my games, and I really want to continue DMing. I am therefore going through a (hopefully short) process of examining my new daily schedule to try and carve out new pockets of free time I can use for updating game threads. To try and better focus on the games I run, I have also resigned from all the games in which I was a player.

Hopefully, my efforts will result in a more consistent updating schedule, and we’ll get some solid momentum back in the games. I want to thank everyone for their patience – I know it’s not easy being on that side of the computer and wondering what’s happening.

I will make every effort to post an update tonight, then again on Friday.

Feel free to post questions here or send PMs as needed.

Thanks,
Andrew/Haldhin

No problem as RL has a higher priority.

Aren't they Small creatures?

Something else I've been thinking about-

GM, what would you think of allowing Raxus to somehow gain the Powerful Build ability? I'd be happy to pay a feat or some sort of wealth cost for it.

Powerful Build wrote:

The physical stature of a creature with this ability lets them function in many ways as if they were one size category larger. Whenever a half-giant is subject to a size modifier or special size modifier for a Combat Maneuver Bonus or Combat Maneuver Defense (such as during grapple checks, bull rush attempts, and trip attempts), the half-giant is treated as one size larger if doing so is advantageous to him. A half-giant is also considered to be one size larger when determining whether a creature's special attacks based on size (such as grab or swallow whole) can affect him. A half-giant can use weapons designed for a creature one size larger without penalty. However, his space and reach remain those of a creature of his actual size. The benefts of this racial trait stack with the effects of powers, abilities, and spells that change the subject's size category.

Lots of holiday stuff coming up for me in the next two weeks. My posting time will be pretty diminished. I'll get a post in when I can, but please don't hold the game up for me.

Female Bard 4 {HP 30/30; AC 17, T 13, FF 14; F+2 R+7 W+5/+6 vs. fey; Init+3 Perc+8} {Effects: none}

I'm sorry everyone. We had a death in my wife's family early last week, and I've been out of town and away from the computer for the past week. I'm working to catch up now, but it may be another day or two before I'm fully back in the game.

You have my condolences, Arianna.

Arianna, very sorry to hear that, my condolences.

-----

Just an update on the game and my situation - my son has been very sick the past week+, and a lack of sleep coupled with his random schedule (waking up at 2am wanting to play?!) pretty much took all my time. Now that he's getting better, I should be able to provide more consistent updates going forward. To that end, I'll have an update and map tonight.

I also understand that the holidays are hectic for everyone, so I'll do my best to respond promptly to any questions or issues that arise. I think we should be able to be back on a regular schedule once we get through the holidays.

-----

Raxus, I'm not opposed to Powerful Build, let me think about how to implement it. I've got an idea, I just need to think it through a bit.

I'm glad to hear your kid is doing better, DM. Sickly little ones are no fun at all...

Thanks. :)

HP: 40/40 AC: 17:13:14 Saves:6:5:5 Init: 2, Dip+11 Per: +11 SenMot +9

No problem, Glad your son is getting better.
And I know christmas tends to be chaotic, given the gatherings, functions, and seasonal flu.

Even I just started recovering from the flu.

I'm glad you're son is getting better too, DM

Also I'm spreading word in the games I play in that I'll be going to visit my parents for the holidays for a whole week. They have internet, but my connection maybe more sporadic, even more so than usual, and my time a bit more limited.

I don't know why, but I've always enjoyed them as bad guys. I mean, wolf spider + moray eel? Can you get any more repulsive than that? :)

And yes, the neogi are small, while the droog are medium.

Female Human Summoner 4: Init +3 (+1 Dex., +2 Reactionary); Perception +0; AC 15 (+1 Dex., +4 armour); hp 23/30; Fort +3; Ref +2; Will +5

The neogi's looks aren't even the most repulsive things about them. Their eating habits and reproductive strategy are squick!

True, the whole elder neogi -> old master thing is pretty gross.

Female Human Summoner 4: Init +3 (+1 Dex., +2 Reactionary); Perception +0; AC 15 (+1 Dex., +4 armour); hp 23/30; Fort +3; Ref +2; Will +5

The only time I felt pity for a neogi in the old Spelljammer novels and boxed set was when I read about what happens to the old masters. >_<;

You misunderstood, DM. Raxus was trying to push a Neogi (preferably off the platform). He doesn't care much about the Droog. Bydar told him the spider-eels are slavers. He wants to kill them the most.

Ah, Raxus, I did misunderstand, thanks for the catch. That changes things significantly, so I'll post a retcon. Sorry for the confusion.

Hi all,
Hope everyone had a nice holiday season. I am - barely - still here too. :)

After traveling around a bit during the holidays, both my wife and I came down with this new strain of flu, and we're just now getting over it. Luckily my son seemed to be immune. Fun times. Just wanted to let everyone know I'm planning to start updating again tonight.

Thanks,
Haldhin

And I'm finally able to post after more than enough snow and ice for the next three years. I thought Atlanta was far enough south, but my wife and I have started talking about Miami, or maybe somewhere in the Caribbean. :)

All,
(Raxus has already seen a version of this message, but I wanted to post it here for the rest of you.)

Barring some kind of crazy situation/event, the group will gain a level very soon, so feel free to begin planning the advancement. Please let me know if there are any questions I can answer.

I'm already working on upcoming realm turns, so I will be able to turn those around much faster than in the past. As a reminder, when the characters return to Corbenic, there are a couple of items left on the "to do" list for this month.

Finally, I know my ability to run this adventure on a consistent basis has been subpar for a while now, and I appreciate everyone sticking through it. I enjoy running for all of my players, and the lack of momentum we've had has been extremely frustrating for me, and I'd guess many of you as well. I just want to reiterate my commitment to the game, and I think moving forward, you'll see my updates returning to more frequent and predictable pattern.

Haldhin

Male Human Cleric 7 (HP 51/51 ;AC16,T11,FF15; F+8,R+5,W+11; Init +1; Perc +4){Effects:none}

I'm sure I'll think of questions later but right now little is coming.

Bydar's chief concern right NOW is making sure we don't get these odd elves killed as we cart them behind us following the ivy path.

His longer term concerns I think I've mentioned...
He'd definitely wanting a proper temple at least to the goddess but the points may take awhile.

Weresharktown requires some eyes on it but hopefully the peace will be kept.

Female Human Summoner 4: Init +3 (+1 Dex., +2 Reactionary); Perception +0; AC 15 (+1 Dex., +4 armour); hp 23/30; Fort +3; Ref +2; Will +5

I'd like to somehow get involved with an academy for arcane magic, but right now Belka isn't even on the council - and she's struggling to set up a magic shop. ;) I think I'll go for an item creation feat at my next level. Which would be more useful? Craft magic arms & armour, or Craft wondrous item?
