Down a bit? Bastarger hasn't been hit. He is, in fact, above and beyond his normal HP from the statue lol. He has never been healthier.
P.S- Yes, going right back to that statue will be my first suggestion once inside.
Joana
You have been blessed with aid - you receive a +1 morale bonus on attack rolls and saves against fear effects, plus 12 temporary hit points. This will last for 10 minutes.
Think it's been more than 10 minutes by now, AK. ;P
EDIT: Of course, if you put your favored class bonus in hp, you'll be at 23 anyway, won't you? Then you just have to change your total.
Javell DeLeon
Oops. That 23/12 you have in your stat line threw me for a loop. For some reason I thought 23 was your total(Yeah I wasn't even thinking of being level 1. I just look at it and thought: "Well Bastarger's down 11"). Now I know why you have it backwards. My bad.

Haven't updated character since those ten minutes passed.

Don't we have things to sell and party loot shares to figure?
P.S- GM I'd like permission to switch out Gnome magic for Fell Magic from the advanced race guide. Seems like it would be a nice fit for Kaer Maga, especially if Bastarger's family has some debt to the Pharasmites...
GM Idyll
Kenji, here are the extracts from the book:
bomber’s eye, expeditious retreat, shieldcrafter’s fortune, cure light wounds, and enlarge person.
I'm not really sure how these benefit you, though. You can't use extracts, can you? They aren't treated as spells, right?
I've never played with an alchemist, so I'm not sure how the rules translate.
Joana
An alchemist can study a wizard's spellbook to learn any formula that is equivalent to a spell the spellbook contains. A wizard, however, cannot learn spells from a formula book.
From the last paragraph of the Alchemy class feature under Alchemist in the APG. Alchemists can learn from a wizard's spellbook, but it's a one-way street.
Joana
Doesn't seem to be any good reason why it doesn't, except to make sure there's treasure for alchemists in pre-APG modules. Personally, I probably wouldn't let alchemists learn from spellbooks, either: if they can't cast from scrolls, I don't see why they can "magically" turn instructions for verbal/somatic/material components into a formula. It's one of those rules that's there for utterly meta reasons, with no in-world justification.
Joana
What's Fell Magic involve, AK? They haven't put the ARG in the PRD yet, and I'm too lazy to go look in my hard copy. :)
Haven't had a chance to think about leveling Lilley yet. My husband's been off all week, and my son's 6th birthday is tomorrow. Give me about 24 hours.
Has anyone yet volunteered to keep the loot list in this game? I have the feeling Lilley's sword and armor have her in debt to the rest of the party at this point.
Bastarger Frinthelrokil
Fell Magic: Gnomes add +1 to the DC of any saving throws against necromancy spells that they cast. Gnomes with Wisdom scores of 11 or higher also gain the following spell-like abilities: 1/day—bleed, chill touch, detect poison, and touch of fatigue. The caster level for these effects is equal to the gnome’s level. The DC for these spells is equal to 10 + the spell’s level + the gnome’s Wisdom modifier. This racial trait replaces gnome magic.

Both Kenji and Lilley will be in the party's debt I believe for stuff they have claimed, which is fine but it needs to be noted etc.
I honestly don't have the time to be loot meister for another game, any volunteers?
Didn't Stirgen take some stuff too?
Joana
Assuming the wand is disrupt undead, either Stirgen or Kenji can use it without UMD.
I don't mind making a list of what we've found and who has what, but I'm not up to the math of figuring everyone's share against what they've taken, which is definitely important with a Small fighter in the party. We're not likely to find a lot of gear Bastarger's size, so he'll need a fair share to buy things at full price.
Oh, and hit points 1d8 ⇒ 7

I'm showing my lack of experience again, but I'm not sure how to handle crafting in terms of time. Previously for me, it's been that people had weeks in between "adventures," so crafting was more of a large-picture activity.
Do you have any proposed fix for the crafting of mundane items, AK? How did mundane crafting get screwed?
Bastarger Frinthelrokil
If we have downtime between adventures and levels, it works out ok... at least until you try and tackle something like full plate which can take years (literally).
Generally, crafting is incredibly slow. When I talk about how it gets screwed I am speaking specifically by comparison to the "on the road" magical crafting rules that let someone craft 250GP worth of magical items but 0GP worth of mundane.
Allowing a day's check of crafting each evening as part of the resting, preparing camp etc. would be my suggestion. I'm thinking about doing it in my games as a house rule to allow crafting 'on the go'.
It really depends on how much downtime we expect to have and how frequent I suppose. But as adventures rarely include loot for small sized characters, Bastarger's going to have to buy everything full price or craft it which is really going to hurt as opposed to medium characters taking looted gear for sell price value out of their shares by comparison.
GM Idyll
That makes sense - but how will you handle crafting of armor and weapons in dungeons in your games? What implements will these people use to replace the anvil and forge?
I'm good with a daily check for sure when we're out of dungeons and will probably be ok with one in the dungeons if it makes sense.
Joana
Okay, here's the list of treasure we found.
We forgot to return those silver holy symbols to Valanthe, but they're part of the 'obviously Pharasmin' relics that aren't ours to take. Rajah, you haven't made a downtime post yet; why don't you give the priestess the holy symbols and tell her about the ancient symbol on the floor down there?
Is the chime of opening to be returned to the church, or are we allowed to keep it with however many charges are left? Either way, I assume it's ours until we finish clearing out the crypts.
How many charges are there in the bone wand? If Kenji learns detect magic this time, he can take 10 on the Spellcraft check to examine it if Valanthe didn't tell us. Also, we took a belt of vials of colored liquid off the necroalchemist; if those are extracts, I suppose they're useless now that he's dead. Can you sell a formula book like a spellbook, for half the cost of purchasing and scribing the formulae? By my math, the formula book with 6 1st-level formulae should be sellable for 105 gp, if so.
Bastarger Frinthelrokil
I remembered about the holy symbols and dropped a hint IC if someone wants to retcon a response to it.
Bastarger would have happily carried the alchemist lab temporarily if someone wanted to take it.
Bastarger Frinthelrokil
I'll be out of contact until the very end of July, due to a trip to Kiev followed by days spent packing up the flat i'm living in here in Ukraine followed by a 3 day bus journey back. Its easier to just declare my absence now rather than try and keep up with things during this busy time. Roll on August!
GM Idyll
Thanks for all that, Lilley - good work.
And travel safely, Bastarger. We'll determine how to proceed in your absence.
What do you think everyone? Should we press on back into the Ossuary - or wait for his return? There are a ton of RP opportunities that we can avail ourselves of, but I'm not sure we can fill two weeks with one in-game day of that. Alternatively, you could wait a couple of days before returning to the Ossuary and we can RP all of that.
Thoughts?
Joana
We have five players now: Rajah, Bastarger, Kenji, Lilley, and Stirgen. Adding a new character would take us up to six. Six is a lot of PCs to maneuver around in dungeons and buildings, especially with reach weapons in play.
I'd vote not to go back into the Ossuary until AK's back. Still undetermined how much time that leaves us to kill on the surface, though. Lilley's good for sturm-und-dranging around about the general unfairness of life for a while yet, and she wants to go check on her bard friend who didn't show up at the cathedral.
Joana
There's more than enough in Kaer Maga to keep us busy for a day...
Pssh. This sleepy little burg? ;)
We could always regroup at some point to go back down the necroalchemist's stairs and pack up the alchemy lab for sale, all of us but Bastarger who's too busy at the forge. That would give us an excuse to all get back together for in-character chatting purposes, if we run out of things to do on our own, without committing to any fights without our fighter.
GM Idyll
Hey everyone. I am so sorry. Work and a crashed hard drive (in a MAC!) have conspired against my PbP'ing. The hard drive will be repaired soon, but my time may or may not be. I believe that I need to step away from the boards for a bit longer.
This pains me, as I have loved this game and you the players. I'll try to come back once the load lightens, but I completely understand if you all have moved on by then.
You've been wonderful, patient and creative. Thanks for adventuring with me.
Stirgen Harg
No problems GM Idyll - real life happens to us all.
I'm not going anywhere :) - the only thing I'd suggest is that when you're back and ready to kick off again, PMs would probably be useful to draw us back in. I've noticed that the campaign tracker can be a bit finicky when it comes to keeping threads updated, etc.
Stirgen Harg
As per PM received:
Hello!
I just wanted to shoot a quick note to let you know I'm coming back to the boards soon, and I intend to start up a new campaign rather than restart my old ones. I took on more than I could chew last time I was here - I think I'm a one-campaign kind of GM. I had a blast with your group and would love to have you in my future campaign, if you're at all interested.
See you around the boards!
Idyll
Looks like this specific campaign will be getting shut down, and Idyll will start afresh with a new one. Along that bent I'd have to reserve judgment on the new campaign until I'd heard some details before figuring out if I'm interested or not.
GM Idyll - could you please turn this campaign into an inactive one?
