A couple things: Tanith wouldn't be on the front rank - doubly so if his buffs are down. Also, if the See Invis is still up, I assume Farrukh's barkskin potion is still up too?

Since Tanith is out front, he'll be using that greatsword.

Tanith holds the two-handed sword up in defense. "Another doppleganger?! Stay out of our way. We're leaving!"

Total defense. Tanith can't move forward without breaking the shield other.

Back while looting...

After determining he can't figure out the first thing about how the machine works, Eben shrugs and goes to play with the mirror with everyone else. "Why does this have to be all the way down here, would have been a great thing to have, say, a day ago..." he mutters, but still is charmed enough by the device to use a cantrip to give himself an illusory mole on his cheek and put a vivid green stripe in his hair before activating the mirror to see the 'real him'. After playtime is done, he helps pack the thing away. "Might be worth coming back for the rest of the heavy stuff later. Once we're all back on our feet. Still want to investigate that machine once we have some spells ready for it..."

He follows along to the barracks hallway. "And to raid the rest of these wardrobes..." he says, only pausing briefly to retrieve his own set of clothing that Ixiaixian had changed out of. "Ick. I know they were bloody and all, but he changed into plain breeches and a vest? I mean, that alone should have tipped you guys off... by the by, found a couple empty potion vials in the same room he changed in. He probably chugged a few down if he knew things were about to turn. Not that it helped when Spiny came at him." He pockets one of the empty bottles. Specifically, one made from a dark green glass. "And so... orcs in drag? Too bad I missed that, sounds like a highlight."

Since he hasn't seen the rest of the lair, he peeks around with some interest while the others retrace their steps. The pause and bottleneck right before entering what everyone else describes as the 'water room', though, causes his hackles to raise, especially with Tanith's challenge to whatever is inside. "Damn, shouldn't have wasted that last button on that rod, would have come in handy now..." he says, before pulling a piece of licorice root out of his pouch and casting the same spell he'd have used otherwise... albeit casting it the long way.

Eben has one of Carina's see invisibility extracts in him as well, so presumably that's still up. Using an AP to cast haste. I'd seem to be out of the line of fire, does that trigger the spoiler?

The Gateway Grove, The Isle of Last Resort

No, you're good.

How're you spending an AP to cast haste, though? Did you preserve a casting earlier?

Farrukh steps into the room in that case, oblivious of any danger.

Round 2:

The cloaked figure seems to finish what it's doing. It rises to its feet and walks over until it stands directly north of the group. "Unlike my hapless agents, I do not banter with future meals."

Whoever Takes Hostile Action First:
As you start to act, two bolts appear out of nowhere, flying straight at you!
Readied Attacks: 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (12) + 12 = 241d20 + 12 ⇒ (2) + 12 = 14 Versus your flat-footed Touch AC.
Damage: 1d4 + 9 ⇒ (2) + 9 = 11 ; 1d4 + 9 ⇒ (3) + 9 = 12
If either attack hits, make a Fortitude save vs. poison (DC 13). If you fail, you fall unconscious for 1 minute.

Down below, two dark-skinned elves appear. They wield hand crossbows and shields, and are already beginning to reload.

Knowledge (local) checks apply.

Yes, I did. You didn't see them, you heard them—they're invisible and still ignore your Dex bonus to AC.

Oh, well, that's good enough.

Hearing the sounds of crossbows being fired and sinking into Farrukh, Eben runs forward to lend a hand. As he goes, his hand finds its way to the 'dragon' wand tucked at his belt. "This could be a really bad idea, but..." he says, pulling it out. As he emerges into the room, his eyes land on the group by the 1d2 ⇒ 2 east wall. He points the wand's tip at the southernmost foe, 40 feet below, and say "Hey, let's see what this does!" then he waves the wand around, and says, "Do something!"

Use Magic Device (activate blindly): 1d20 + 16 ⇒ (14) + 16 = 30

Hopefully I didn't just buff the drow. And actually, now that he's had a chance to look at them:
Knowledge:local: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (19) + 11 = 30

"Oh. Drow. Probably magic-resistant..." he says, discontentedly, as whatever he just did with the wand happens.

Round 2: Move action: move 30 feet into chamber, retrieve wand from belt while doing so, activate Dance of 23 Steps as free action. Standard action: blind activation of wand that I hope I'm guessing right does some kind of fire thing.

mirror image has 6 images remaining and lasts 69 rounds, see invisibility lasts... oh, I dunno, a while longer. AC is 21/16/15 w/Dance of 23 Steps active.

The Gateway Grove, The Isle of Last Resort

The wand sparks slightly. The magic seems to curve around, settling on Eben's wounds.
Eben is healed 3d8 + 5 ⇒ (2, 5, 3) + 5 = 15 damage. The wand of cure serious wounds now has 3 charges remaining.

Would "at best" touch+flat-footed AC really be 10? I thought deflection bonuses still counted.

The water begins to rise through the drains interspersed throughout the room, and the drow give annoyed shouts. Two other drow shapes are made visible by the rising water. One of them gives an elven curse, while the other gives an elven *glub*. He then seems to get up on his tiptoes, evidently being a bit shorter than his partner.

Or what some insane god thought would pass for a face.

This is no human, nor is it any sort of doppelganger. The creature has strange rubbery purple flesh and pale golden eyes, like squid eyes. Its head is hairless and bulbous, with four long tentacles where its mouth should be.

It raises one violet claw, gripping what looks like a twisted leg bone, and a loud hum fills the air—almost painful to listen to. A moment later, a tremendous blast of electricity discharges straight at the party.
