Tanith 'Kordson' Creed |

One attack or three. None of this 'two attacks' business.

Cuetzpalli |

Seeing more talking monkeys trying to hurt his friends, Spiny dino-spasms in their direction with his teeth and claws.
Attack the one with the 7 pointed star.
Bite: 1d20 + 12 - 2 + 2 ⇒ (6) + 12 - 2 + 2 = 181d8 + 9 + 4 ⇒ (3) + 9 + 4 = 16
Claw: 1d20 + 12 - 2 + 2 ⇒ (15) + 12 - 2 + 2 = 271d6 + 9 + 4 ⇒ (5) + 9 + 4 = 18
Claw: 1d20 + 12 - 2 + 2 ⇒ (9) + 12 - 2 + 2 = 211d6 + 9 + 4 ⇒ (2) + 9 + 4 = 15

Dungeon Kobold |

Spiny viciously claws the other drow in the back.
Farrukh is up (and maybe Carina, I've never quite understood how readied actions work).

Dungeon Kobold |

Readying an Action: You can ready a standard action, a move action, a swift action, or a free action. To do so, specify the action you will take and the conditions under which you will take it. Then, anytime before your next action, you may take the readied action in response to that condition. The action occurs just before the action that triggers it. If the triggered action is part of another character's activities, you interrupt the other character. Assuming he is still capable of doing so, he continues his actions once you complete your readied action. Your initiative result changes. For the rest of the encounter, your initiative result is the count on which you took the readied action, and you act immediately ahead of the character whose action triggered your readied action.

Eben MacTeague |

But given how initiative works in this campaign, isn't that a rather complicated rule to apply? If someone readies an action does that mean that for the rest of that combat they have to act after the rest of the PCs but before the bad guys turn? Seems like that would potentially slow combat down even more in the long run.

Dungeon Kobold |

I wouldn't nitpick it to that extent—I'm just trying to work out if it consumes her turn this round. Like I said, I don't get readied actions.

Farrukh Al'Khatel |

Farrukh wails on the Drow fighter, laying into his buddy if the first drops.
Slash: 1d20 + 13 ⇒ (3) + 13 = 16
1d6 + 10 ⇒ (1) + 10 = 11
Bash: 1d20 + 15 ⇒ (8) + 15 = 23
1d6 + 11 ⇒ (4) + 11 = 15
Bash Iterative: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (5) + 10 = 15
1d6 + 11 ⇒ (5) + 11 = 16
Subtract 2 hit/damage for any potential attacks on guy #2.

Dungeon Kobold |

Farrukh's klar slices through the throat of the more injured drow. The dark elf collapses, gurgling.

Carina Viera |

Round 8: Actions
Move Action: Reload Crossbow
Standard Action: Fire on other standing drow
Carina's eyes widen a little as the drow break invisibility and try to cut Farrukh down.
...wow. Okay, they're actually kinda cute. In a really creepy sort of way.
It doesn't stop her from reloading and wincing as Farrukh and Spiny start cutting them down. She aims at the drow that's still standing and fires...
Ranged Attack (PBS, Precise, Cover, DEX Mutagen): 1d20 + 9 - 4 + 2 ⇒ (7) + 9 - 4 + 2 = 14
Damage...? (PBS): 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (7) + 1 = 8

Dungeon Kobold |

1d100 ⇒ 97
Carina's shot pings against the stone wall.
Round 9: Drow.
The remaining drow steps over the body of his colleague and stabs at Farrukh. This time, he's almost able to slip behind Farrukh's guard, but Farrukh deflects the attack with his klar at the last second.
Rapier: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (16) + 8 = 24
Round 9: You are up.

Cuetzpalli |

Spiny attacks the second little dark man-thing in front of him. Mmmm....I love dark meat.
Bite: 1d20 + 12 - 2 + 2 ⇒ (4) + 12 - 2 + 2 = 161d8 + 9 + 4 ⇒ (6) + 9 + 4 = 19
Claw: 1d20 + 12 - 2 + 2 ⇒ (17) + 12 - 2 + 2 = 291d6 + 9 + 4 ⇒ (2) + 9 + 4 = 15
Claw: 1d20 + 12 - 2 + 2 ⇒ (2) + 12 - 2 + 2 = 141d6 + 9 + 4 ⇒ (3) + 9 + 4 = 16

Dungeon Kobold |

Spiny claws into the drow's chest, nearly ripping out several ribs in the process. The drow falls to the ground, dead.

Tanith 'Kordson' Creed |

With the visible drow down, Tanith draws another potion and chugs it.
I marked off one for Farrukh too.
Edit: It would help if I actually included a roll.
CLW: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (4) + 1 = 5

Eben MacTeague |

"Going to go and see if squiddy is still holding down the hallway..." Eben says quietly as he weaves a concealment glamour around himself. The sound of quiet footfalls are the only indication he's in motion.
Stealth: 1d20 + 20 + 3 ⇒ (11) + 20 + 3 = 34
Round 9- Standard action: cast vanish on myself. Move 15 feet (using Stealth) to peek into hallway, draw my shortbow as I go.
Mirror image on Eben, 6 images, 61 rounds. Vanish on Eben, 5 rounds. Heroism on Farrukh, lasts for 698 rounds. Heroism on Tanith lasts for 699 rounds. See invisibility still up for a bit.

Dungeon Kobold |

Eben sneaks down the hallway. He sees the two drow women, their crossbows trained on him—clearly readied to fire if they see anyone coming.
One of them says something to the other.
They hear Eben coming.
The squid-headed creature is nowhere to be seen.
Wow, I never noticed you could modify images before!

Eben MacTeague |

Sense Motive: 1d20 + 16 ⇒ (3) + 16 = 19 ARE YOU KIDDING ME.
Yeah, I just noticed the image filter options. Kinda neat.

Carina Viera |

Round 9: Actions
No Action: 5-foot step forward
Move Action: Reload Crossbow
Standard Action: Take CMW wand from Tanith
Carina winces as Spiny cuts down the other drow. She steps forward, reloading her crossbow before holding her hand out and taking the healing wand from Tanith.
"Good boy, Spiny! I'll be there in a second!" She says, twirling the wand and smiling.

Dungeon Kobold |

Round 10: Drow.
The two remaining drow suddenly fire in Eben's direction.
Crossbows (partial cover): 1d20 + 11 - 2 ⇒ (14) + 11 - 2 = 231d20 + 11 - 2 ⇒ (12) + 11 - 2 = 21
1d100 ⇒ 231d100 ⇒ 43
Damage: 2d4 + 18 ⇒ (4, 3) + 18 = 25

Dungeon Kobold |

Can Tanith reach them with a single love action.
Yes, barely.

Tanith 'Kordson' Creed |

Hearing Eben's warning and follow up cry of pain, Tanith follows after him with his poleaxe at the ready. After awkwardly squeezing past the invisible bard he cleaves into the drow marksmen.
Chop: 1d20 + 8 + 2 ⇒ (12) + 8 + 2 = 22
Smite: 1d10 + 6 + 6 + 3 ⇒ (4) + 6 + 6 + 3 = 19
If they're both still up Tanith will spend his last AP on deflect arrows.

Eben MacTeague |

"OUCH!" Eben cries out as the two bolts hit home. "Okay, squidface isn't anywhere to be seen, but the drow ladies are. And they can see through invisibility, so, GET IN HERE."
A moment later he is nearly crushed by several hundred pounds of running Kordite.
Waiting on the results of Tanith's attack before taking an action.

Eben MacTeague |

Eben fires a shot at the drow suffering from a combination of Tantih's slicing and Carina's earlier bolt.
shortbow+PBS+Invisibility-cover: 1d20 + 10 + 1 + 2 - 4 ⇒ (5) + 10 + 1 + 2 - 4 = 14
This is not a day the dice are with me. I suppose that's a miss even against her FF AC, right?
Sighing with frustration, he runs up behind Tanith and lets his magic whip go to work on the uninjured one.
feather token-cover: 1d20 + 11 - 4 ⇒ (4) + 11 - 4 = 11
"Oh, I just give up. Fine, you guys just do your thing. Try and take one alive for questioning, if you can..."
Round 10- Standard action: shoot at damaged drow, move 10 feet north (I assume Tanith is one square in front of me and Farrukh is two, whip attacks undamaged drow, activate Dance of 23 Steps as free action.
Mirror image on Eben, 6 images, 60 rounds. Heroism on Farrukh, lasts for 697 rounds. Heroism on Tanith lasts for 698 rounds. See invisibility still up for a bit. AC is 21/16/15 with Dance of 23 Steps.

Carina Viera |

Round 10: Actions
Move Action: Move to Spiny
Standard Action: Boop Spiny on the nose with the healing wand
Hearing Eben's cries of pain and seeing both Tanith & Farrukh racing down the hallway to confront his attackers, Carina opts to try and help Spiny.
"Spiny!" She jogs over to where the dinosaur is sitting, holding the wand before her. "Here ya go!"
She taps Spiny on his nose with the wand, fixing some of his lightning burns.
CMW: 2d8 + 3 ⇒ (3, 7) + 3 = 13
As she does so, she looks over her shoulder at the two female drow.
...
...
...
...oh no she's hot
She blushes and refocuses on her work.
Mark off another charge of the wand.

Dungeon Kobold |

Farrukh slashes the drow in the belly, and she keels over.
The other shooter is too slow to react as Eben turns visible, and the bolt sinks into her arm.
Damage: 1d6 + 3 ⇒ (1) + 3 = 4
And since this is a pretty 2D fight, not much Spiny can do, so we'll assume he starts carving the dead drow up and move on to the next round.
Round 11: Drow.
Heedless of the death of her comrade, the last drow steps back, reloads, and fires at Farrukh. "Kill me if you will, but you will all break before the Master!"
Hand Crossbow (touch AC): 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (20) + 11 = 31
Crit?: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (15) + 11 = 26
Damage: 3d4 + 27 ⇒ (3, 3, 1) + 27 = 34
Maybe she's that good a shot. More likely she's just very lucky. But her bolt flies with perfect accuracy, lodging painfully in Farrukh's chest.
Round 11: You are up!

Eben MacTeague |

Mostly irrelevant point of order: Since I assumed Eben's shot missed & didn't roll damage, I didn't bother declaring the use of Arcane Strike. But if it did hit, well, she should take an additional 2 damage. Like I said, irrelevant unless Tanith and Farrukh's full attacks somehow only leave her 2 hp from death instead of insta-gibbing her...
Eben winces at the solid chok sound the bolt flying into Farrukh's chest makes. Okay, they are lethal with those and their bolts are smaller than my arrows! So I can be a bow badass too, he thinks to himself as he shoots again.
shortbow+PBS-cover: 1d20 + 10 + 1 - 4 ⇒ (7) + 10 + 1 - 4 = 14
Eben glares up at the whip floating over his head. "Get it right for once!"
feather token-cover: 1d20 + 11 - 4 ⇒ (11) + 11 - 4 = 18
nonlethal damage?: 1d6 + 1 ⇒ (5) + 1 = 6
grapple?: 1d20 + 15 ⇒ (4) + 15 = 19

Tanith 'Kordson' Creed |

Tanith advances and removes a hand from his poleaxe long enough to backhand the crossbowowman.
Pimphand: 1d20 + 8 + 2 ⇒ (12) + 8 + 2 = 22
Nonlethal Damage: 1d8 + 5 + 4 ⇒ (5) + 5 + 4 = 14

Dungeon Kobold |

Hand crossbows are 19-20/x2 I believe.
Yes, interesting that this one did so much damage, isn't it? ;)

Dungeon Kobold |

Tanith bruises the drow fighter as Eben's whip finally manages to coil around her arm. She struggles, swearing.

Farrukh Al'Khatel |

Farrukh steps out to the platform and starts whacking at the Drow with the side of his klar and flat of his sword.
3d20 ⇒ (13, 15, 10) = 38
Results 24, 28, and 18.
Damage?: 1d6 + 12 ⇒ (1) + 12 = 13
1d6 + 13 ⇒ (5) + 13 = 18

Dungeon Kobold |

Farrukh hammers into the drow, twice near-breaking her jaw with the side of his klar and finishing with a klong to her forehead.
The drow collapses, unconscious.
End of combat.

Tanith 'Kordson' Creed |

Tanith pulls the lever again and snatches up the unconscious drow woman.
"Grab whatever you can. As soon as the water's drained we're getting the hell out of here", he warns.

Farrukh Al'Khatel |

Farrukh chuckles.
"I should try to knock people out more often. That sound is just so...satisfying. "
"But yeah we need to leave before squidface comes back."

Carina Viera |

Carina doesn't say anything as the drow woman is beaten into unconsciousness.
"Got it. Spiny, heel." She points at the dinosaur and taps her side twice.
Handle Animal: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (15) + 9 = 24

Dungeon Kobold |

The water drains back down in a bit under a minute. With the barrel destroyed, though, the party is forced to climb back up. It's not an easy climb. Even Spiny moves slower than usual, so encumbered is he with mirror and corpses.
Barely over an hour ago, five heroes, one imposter, and a dinosaur entered the doppelgangers' hideout. Now, four heroes, one dinosaur, three dead bodies and a bound enemy exit.
It's a little past midnight on the 9th of Flocktime. This morning, the heroes encountered a poorly-maintained parade, met with Eligos and received a promise that he'd do research on the spawn and Ebon Triad, dealt with the Oligarchy, went to a nice cafe, and arrived at the Sodden Hold.
It has been a long, long day.

Eben MacTeague |

"Alright, you guys loot these two, I'll pat down the guys in the hallway..." Eben says, grabbing a couple of potions and swigging them down as he goes.
CLW: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (4) + 1 = 5
CLW: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (6) + 1 = 7
After looting the drow men, he heads back to the platform room to see the last of the water drain out. Noticing the dead octopus-thing for the first time (well, the first time he's in the room and not being shot at or electrocuted), he gives a low whistle. "Maybe that was why squid-guy wanted us dead. We killed his cousin."
Are the directions just flipped around here, or are there actually two exits from the lower level of the room? Not that we can afford further exploration at the moment.

Tanith 'Kordson' Creed |

What was the plan again? Are we meeting Eben's people tonight or just passing them the message and holding out somewhere till morning?

Eben MacTeague |

I think we should head back to the Crooked House. Eben can swing by the drop he's supposed to use to contact the thieves guild and leave a message for them. Then they put in the 'mysterious and slightly sinister' appearance whenever they get around to it.
Perception: 1d20 + 13 ⇒ (6) + 13 = 19
On the way out of the warehouse, Eben stops and comments about each big fight that he apparently missed out on. "So the chests attacked? Really?" he says, as they exit. Outside, he looks around. "Okay, kinda turned around, but I assume we're not exactly near the palace..."

Farrukh Al'Khatel |

Take 10 for a 26.
Farrukh cocks his head quizzically.
"That look odd to anyone else? I've never seen a blue eyed cat before."
